Abstract

Elementary school is the first stage of formal education that plays a crucial role in developing children's foundational knowledge and skills. At this level, students are introduced to fundamental concepts across various subjects, including Science, which fosters structured thinking skills. However, science in elementary schools still faces several challenges, such as low student learning outcomes and limited learning resources to support the instructional process. The Inquiry Learning model can enhance students' active participation in discovering concepts, but its implementation requires technological support to optimize the inquiry process. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Inquiry Learning model integrated with the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) approach on students' learning outcomes in the food chain topic. The study employed a quasi-experimental method using a pretest-posttest control group design. The sample consisted of 60 students, with 30 students in the experimental class and 30 students in the control class. Learning outcome data were collected through pretests and posttests and analyzed using an Independent t-test. The results showed a two-tailed significance value of 0.01 (α < 0.05), indicating that the Inquiry Learning model integrated with the TPACK approach had a significant effect on students' learning outcomes in the food chain topic. The implementation of all Inquiry Learning phases supported by digital media enhanced students' engagement in learning and helped them develop a more meaningful understanding of the concepts.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital communication technology and the widespread use of informal slang often obscure the boundary between standard and non-standard Indonesian language, causing frequent spelling errors in formal and academic writing. This study aims to examine the role, historical evolution, and implementation of Ejaan yang Dibenarkan Jilid 5 as a standardized writing guideline to maintain the clarity, quality, and credibility of written communication. This research employed a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach, analyzing secondary sources such as official spelling manuals, linguistic textbooks, and indexed scientific journals. Data analysis was conducted through content analysis involving data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions with source triangulation. The results indicate that Ejaan yang Dibenarkan Jilid 5 provides comprehensive and systematic rules covering four core domains: letter usage, word formation, punctuation, and loanword absorption. Proper application of these rules significantly enhances academic writing quality, eliminates semantic ambiguity, acts as a linguistic filter in digital interactions, and serves as a national unifying tool. To minimize persistent errors such as misapplied prefixes, non-standard terms, and missing punctuation, continuous habituation of self-editing and formal linguistic education are strongly recommended.

Abstract

The increasing mobility of domestic tourism and the rapid growth of digital penetration in Indonesia have encouraged the Ministry of Defense to launch the Lorong Sejarah (History Corridor) program as a defense education tourism initiative. Consequently, an appropriate public communication strategy is required to ensure that historical messages and national values are effectively conveyed to the broader community. This study employs Lasswell’s communication model and Cangara’s communication strategy framework, which consists of the stages of research, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting, as its theoretical foundation, supported by public relations concepts to examine the role of the Defense Information Bureau. A descriptive qualitative approach was adopted, with data collected through in depth interviews, observation, and documentation involving five informants. The data were processed through data verification, categorization, simplification, and narrative organization, and subsequently analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The trustworthiness of the findings was ensured through source and technique triangulation. The results indicate that the research and planning stages were conducted adequately with clear audience segmentation, while the implementation stage integrated face to face and digital communication channels in a complementary manner. However, the evaluation and reporting stages remained anecdotal and lacked systematic measurement. All five elements of Lasswell’s communication model were identified, generating cognitive, affective, and conative effects among visitors. Nevertheless, several challenges persist, including limited resources, the absence of formal written policy guidelines, and the need to improve message relevance for younger generations. This study concludes that the communication strategy implemented by the Defense Information Bureau has been effective at the micro level but requires stronger institutional support at the macro level.

Abstract

Listening proficiency is a language skill that elementary school students need to master, as it plays a crucial role in comprehending orally conveyed information. Preliminary observations in Class III B at UPT SD Negeri Kebonsari 3 Tuban revealed that the majority of students struggled to identify key information and understand the content of conversations. This study aimed to improve students' listening skills and their ability to comprehend conversation content by implementing the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model combined with 5W analysis (What, Who, When, Where, and Why). The study employed the Classroom Action Research (CAR) method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, conducted over two cycles. Each cycle comprised the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, tests, and documentation, and subsequently analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative descriptive approaches. The results demonstrated an improvement in listening skills and conversation comprehension across the cycles. Learning mastery increased from 44% in the pre-action stage to 76% in Cycle I, reaching 100% in Cycle II. The students' average scores also rose from 62.52 to 73.00, and subsequently to 83.76. Beyond student achievement, teacher and student activities during instruction also showed positive development. These findings indicate that the implementation of the Problem-Based Learning model combined with 5W analysis serves as an effective instructional alternative, helping students comprehend oral information more systematically while simultaneously enhancing their listening skills in Indonesian language lessons at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The success of developing young athletes is determined not only by the quality of training programs but also by parents’ understanding of the importance of structured, continuous, and developmentally appropriate physical training. Preliminary observations among athletes participating in the 2026 Continuous Sports Development Program (POPB) for Water Ski and Wakeboard revealed gaps in the understanding of parents, athletes, and coaches regarding fundamental principles of physical training, recovery strategies, nutritional support, and psychosocial assistance required to optimize athletic performance. This community engagement program aimed to enhance sports parenting literacy and improve athletes’ knowledge of the critical role of physical training in performance development and injury prevention. The program employed a participatory educational approach through seminars, interactive discussions, demonstrations of evidence-based physical training principles, and mentoring sessions involving parents, athletes, and coaches. Program effectiveness was evaluated using a pretest–posttest design to measure changes in participants’ knowledge, complemented by observations of engagement throughout the activities. The results demonstrated improved understanding of training principles, exercise periodization, warm-up and cool-down procedures, recovery strategies, nutritional requirements, and the importance of collaboration among parents, coaches, and athletes in supporting long-term athlete development. Participants also showed stronger commitment to implementing structured training support and positive parenting practices that promote sustainable athletic achievement. These findings indicate that sports parenting education is an effective strategy for strengthening the athlete development ecosystem within the 2026 POPB Water Ski and Wakeboard program through enhanced collaboration among families, coaches, and athletes.
