Abstract

This quantitative research aims to analyze the socio-economic characteristics of Small, Micro, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Jambi City and analyze the influence of online sales , business capital, business duration, and promotion strategies on the income of MSME actors in Jambi City. Primary data were collected from 99 respondents through a questionnaire using the Purposive Sampling method. Data analysis using multiple linear regression with SPSS 29 application. The descriptive results show that MSME actors are dominated by women (57.8%), productive age (average 35.9 years), dominant business duration of 1 year to 3 years, average initial capital of Rp. 3,268,939, have an average income of Rp. 6,393,686.87 per month and the majority use non-paid promotions. Simultaneously, the variables of online sales , business capital, business duration, and promotional strategies have a positive effect on revenue. Partially, the four variables have a significant effect on income, with business capital as the dominate variable. The dummy variable test proves that MSME actors who use paid promotion strategies have an average income of Rp. 1,212,838,722 higher than those who use unpaid promotions. These results show that most MSME actors in Jambi City are still micro-scale businesses with relatively small capital and more use unpaid promotions.

Abstract

The development of social media and online media has changed the communication patterns of university students, particularly in their use of Indonesian in digital spaces. Fast-paced and informal communication often causes spelling accuracy to receive less attention. This study aims to analyze forms of Indonesian spelling errors in students’ digital communication and to describe factors contributing to their occurrence. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach using content analysis. The data consist of language use in students’ digital communication obtained from digital sources and previous studies published during the 2022–2026 period. The data were analyzed by identifying, classifying, and comparing language forms with the Indonesian Enhanced Spelling Guidelines (EYD) Fifth Edition. The results indicate that common errors include inappropriate capitalization, punctuation, word writing, non-standard forms, word shortening, and code mixing. These findings suggest that the fast, practical, and informal characteristics of digital communication influence students’ accuracy in applying Indonesian spelling conventions. Nevertheless, not all informal language forms can be categorized as errors because the communicative context must also be considered. This study implies the importance of improving students’ digital language literacy so that they are able to adjust their language use according to formal and informal communication contexts.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low critical thinking skills and cooperative attitudes among class XI TKR students at SMK Bunda Satria Wangon in the subject of Pemeliharaan Sasis dan Pemindah Tenaga Kendaraan Ringan (PSPTKR), particularly on the power transmission system material, due to the use of teacher-centered conventional learning models. This study aims to determine the difference in students' critical thinking skills before and after implementing the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model, and to determine whether student cooperative attitudes meet the good criteria through this model. The research method used is quantitative with a Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research population comprised all class XI TKR students at SMK Bunda Satria Wangon, with a sample of 38 students in the experimental class and 36 students in the control class (74 students total). Data collection of critical thinking skills used a test instrument of 10 essay questions, while cooperative attitude data were collected through a questionnaire. Data analysis included descriptive analysis, prerequisite tests (normality and homogeneity), and inferential analysis using Paired Samples t-Test and Independent Samples t-Test. The results showed that there was a significant difference in students' critical thinking skills before and after using the PjBL model in the experimental class (t = 41.218, Sig. < 0.001). The experimental class showed a gain absolute of 21.21 points compared to 14.39 points in the control class. N-Gain scores for both classes were in the moderate category (experimental: 0.590; control: 0.587). Independent samples t-test results also showed a significant difference between the two classes (t = 6.335, Sig. = 0.000). These findings confirm that the PjBL learning model is effective in improving critical thinking skills and fostering cooperative attitudes among students on the power transmission system material.

Abstract

Student learning activeness remains a challenge in elementary school learning, particularly when learning activities are still dominated by teacher explanations and provide limited opportunities for direct student involvement. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model with a learning by doing approach in increasing the learning activeness of fourth-grade students at UPT SD Negeri Sidorejo 2. This study employed Classroom Action Research using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 10 fourth-grade students. Data were collected through student activity observation sheets, learning achievement tests, documentation, field notes, and teacher reflection journals. The learning activities focused on IPAS material about environmental conditions, particularly through direct erosion simulation activities. The results showed an increase in student learning activeness after the implementation of CTL with the learning by doing approach. The average student activity increased from 45% in the pre-cycle to 62.5% in Cycle I and 86.5% in Cycle II. In terms of classical activity, the number of actively participating students increased from 2 students (20%) in the pre-cycle to 5 students (50%) in Cycle I and all 10 students (100%) in Cycle II. The findings indicate that CTL combined with learning by doing can effectively increase student involvement in asking questions, responding, participating in practical activities, and collaborating in groups.

Abstract

Academic achievement is influenced by various cognitive competencies, including critical and reflective thinking. Although previous studies have reported positive associations between these competencies and academic achievement, their respective contributions when examined simultaneously remain inconclusive. This study aimed to examine the partial and simultaneous relationships between perceived critical thinking skills, perceived reflective thinking skills, and academic achievement among 117 students of the Accounting Education Study Program at Universitas Sebelas Maret. A quantitative correlational design was employed using proportionate stratified random sampling. Perceived critical thinking skills were measured using the Critical Thinking Skills Assessment Scale Short Form (CTSAS-SF), whereas perceived reflective thinking skills were assessed using the Reflective Thinking Questionnaire (RTQ). Academic achievement was measured using students' cumulative grade point average (CGPA). Data were analyzed using Spearman's rank correlation and multiple linear regression. The results indicated that perceived critical thinking skills (ρ = 0.257, p = 0.005) and perceived reflective thinking skills (ρ = 0.275, p = 0.003) were positively and significantly correlated with academic achievement. However, multiple linear regression showed that only perceived critical thinking skills made a significant unique contribution to academic achievement, whereas perceived reflective thinking skills no longer remained significant (β = 0.079, p = 0.435). Together, both variables were significantly associated with academic achievement (F = 4.202, p = 0.017), accounting for 6.9% of the variance (R² = 0.069). These findings indicate that perceived critical thinking skills provide a unique contribution to academic achievement beyond that shared with perceived reflective thinking skills.
