Abstract

The excessive use of hazardous chemicals in laboratory and industrial activities continues to contribute to environmental pollution, while chemistry education is increasingly expected to be more applicative and to equip students with entrepreneurial life skills. Although Green Chemistry and Chemoentrepreneurship (CEP) have each been widely studied, research that specifically examines how the two approaches can be integrated within chemistry learning remains limited. This study aims to examine, through a literature review, how Green Chemistry and Chemoentrepreneurship can be integrated in chemistry learning. This research employed a narrative literature review method, using national and international journal articles published between 2020 and 2025 and analyzed thematically. The results show that Green Chemistry and Chemoentrepreneurship can be integrated conceptually and practically, with their main intersection lying in entrepreneurial learning products that are designed to remain environmentally friendly, such as through the use of natural or locally available materials as substitutes for hazardous synthetic chemicals. Several teaching materials and practicum modules developed on acid-base and colloid topics demonstrate that this integration has begun to be realized in practice. This integration offers dual benefits, namely more meaningful conceptual understanding, stronger environmental awareness, and enhanced entrepreneurial skills among students. However, its implementation still faces challenges, particularly teachers' limited understanding of green chemistry principles, inadequate laboratory facilities, and the scarcity of teaching materials that systematically combine both approaches.

Abstract

This study examined the improvement of junior high school students’ mathematical problem-solving ability after the implementation of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model. The research used a quantitative pre-experimental approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The population comprised all eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 9 Langsa in the second semester of the 2025/2026 academic year. A purposive sampling technique was used to select class VIII-1, consisting of 29 students. Data were collected through essay tests administered before and after the treatment, supported by learning worksheets and an instructional module. The instrument was examined through validity, reliability, item discrimination, and difficulty analyses before being used in the study. The descriptive results showed an increase in the average score from 43.17 on the pretest to 73.66 on the posttest. The paired-samples t-test indicated a statistically significant difference between the two measurements (t(28) = 23.36, p < 0.001). These findings indicate that the implementation of PjBL was associated with a significant improvement in students’ mathematical problem-solving ability on the topic of measures of central tendency. The findings support the use of project-oriented learning as an alternative instructional model for mathematics learning that requires students to investigate, discuss, apply concepts, and formulate solutions to contextual problems.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of ukhuwah (Islamic brotherhood) as a theological pillar for building religious tolerance and interfaith harmony in Indonesia. As a highly plural nation, Indonesia continues to face recurring cases of religious intolerance, ranging from the rejection of houses of worship to discrimination against minority belief groups, despite strong constitutional and religious foundations for tolerance. This study employs a qualitative library research method by analyzing the Quran, Hadith, and relevant academic literature. The findings show that the Islamic tradition of ukhuwah develops through three interconnected dimensions: ukhuwah islamiyah (brotherhood among Muslims), ukhuwah wathaniyah (brotherhood as fellow citizens), and ukhuwah basyariyah (universal human brotherhood). These three dimensions provide a theological basis for tolerance that distinguishes between social interaction (muamalah), which is open to cooperation with people of other faiths, and matters of faith and worship (aqidah), which remain exclusive. Ukhuwah wathaniyah and basyariyah in particular offer a normative framework compatible with Indonesia's plural society, encouraging mutual respect, cooperation, and conflict prevention without eliminating religious identity. The article concludes that strengthening the values of ukhuwah through education, interfaith dialogue, and community practice can serve as an effective strategy for maintaining religious harmony amid Indonesia's diversity.

Abstract

Academic service quality is an important component of students’ experiences in higher education. Although previous studies have examined the relationship between academic service quality and student satisfaction, empirical evidence in the context of the Business Education Program B, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Medan, particularly among the 2023 cohort, remains limited. This study aimed to analyze the effect of academic service quality on student satisfaction among students of the Business Education Program B, Faculty of Economics, Universitas Negeri Medan, 2023 cohort. A quantitative approach with an ex post facto design was employed. The study involved 36 students, all of whom were included as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a four-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. Prior to the main analysis, the research instrument was assessed through validity and reliability tests, followed by regression assumption testing. The findings indicate that academic service quality has a positive and statistically significant effect on student satisfaction, as shown by a significance value of 0.0013, which is below the 0.05 significance level. Descriptive analysis showed that academic service quality was perceived as good, with a mean score of 2.7833, while student satisfaction was categorized as satisfied, with a mean score of 3.0521. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.266 indicates that academic service quality accounts for 26.6% of the variance in student satisfaction, while the remaining 73.4% is attributable to other factors outside the research model. These findings provide empirical support for the role of academic service quality in shaping student satisfaction within the context of higher education. The findings also imply that maintaining and improving the reliability, responsiveness, clarity, and supporting facilities of academic services may contribute to a better student experience. Future research is encouraged to examine additional factors, such as learning quality, lecturer–student interpersonal communication, institutional image, learning motivation, and academic climate, using broader samples and, where appropriate, qualitative or mixed-methods approaches.

Abstract

Learning outcomes are one indicator of success in the learning process. Preliminary observations in Grade IV at SDN 13 Kinali revealed that students lacked focus during lessons, teaching was still dominated by lecturing with limited use of learning media, and science (IPA) learning outcomes were not yet optimal. This study aimed to determine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by Wordwall media on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Kinali. A quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design, specifically the Nonequivalent Posttest-Only Control Group Design, was employed. The population and sample consisted of all 41 fourth-grade students, selected through a saturated sampling technique. Class IVA served as the experimental group taught using the TGT model assisted by Wordwall, while Class IVB served as the control group taught conventionally. Data were collected through a 20-item multiple-choice achievement test that had previously been tested for validity, reliability, discrimination index, and difficulty level. Descriptive analysis showed a mean score of 78.81 for the experimental class, higher than the control class mean of 70.25. Hypothesis testing using the t-test yielded a significance value of 0.003 (< 0.05); thus H0 was rejected and H1 accepted. These findings indicate that the TGT cooperative learning model assisted by Wordwall media has a significant effect on the science learning outcomes of fourth-grade students at SDN 13 Kinali, West Pasaman. Keywords: Teams Games Tournament (TGT), Wordwall, science learning outcomes, cooperative learning.
