Abstract

This study aims to measure the effectiveness of the Jigsaw-type cooperative learning model in improving the mathematical problem-solving ability of fourth-grade students at SDN Rawamangun 12 Pagi on fraction material. The study was motivated by students' low ability in solving non-routine mathematical problems, partly caused by the abstract nature of mathematics and limited active engagement during learning. This research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach using the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, consisting of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting, carried out across three cycles. The subjects were 28 fourth-grade (IV-E) students. Data were collected through observation, problem-solving tests, documentation, and field notes, then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The results showed that classical learning completeness increased from 46.43% before the action to 64.29% in Cycle I, 78.50% in Cycle II, and 89.28% in Cycle III, while teacher and student activity reached 92% and 93%, respectively, in Cycle III, all exceeding the 85% success indicator. The Jigsaw model was proven effective in improving students' problem-solving ability and shifting the learning atmosphere to be more student-centered.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the fundamental subjects in elementary education that plays an important role in developing students' logical and systematic thinking skills. One of the essential competencies that third-grade students need to master is addition and subtraction operations. However, many students still experience difficulties in understanding these concepts due to the learning process not being sufficiently structured. This article aims to describe the implementation of the Direct Instruction learning model in teaching addition and subtraction operations to third-grade students at SDN 01 Cikokol. The article was developed based on a learning module that had been prepared using a literature-based descriptive approach. The discussion focuses on the learning syntax, instructional activities, teaching materials, learning media, and assessment designed according to the characteristics of the Direct Instruction model. The implementation of the learning model is expected to support a more systematic, directed, and meaningful mathematics learning process for elementary school students.

Abstract

Abstract

Interpersonal communication plays a crucial role in building customer trust, particularly in the business-to-business (B2B) distribution of high-value-investment products. This study aims to analyze how the interpersonal communication strategies employed by the sales staff at PT Mulia Mandiri Supply contribute to building customer trust. This study employs a qualitative method using descriptive analysis techniques. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation from five informants selected through purposive sampling, consisting of three sales representatives and two customers of PT Mulia Mandiri Supply. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model through three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that sales staff consistently apply the five dimensions of interpersonal communication according to DeVito openness, empathy, a supportive attitude, a positive attitude, and equality in every interaction with customers. The application of these five dimensions contributes to the development of customer trust through three main components, according to Gurviez and Korchia: competence, integrity, and benevolence. This study also found that differences in understanding technical terms and human factors act as barriers that affect the effectiveness of interpersonal communication. The trust that has been established encourages customers to make repeat purchases and provide word-of-mouth recommendations to other customers. This study concludes that interpersonal communication that is open, empathetic, consistent, and customer-need-oriented is a key factor in building customer trust in PT Mulia Mandiri Supply.

Abstract

The development of social media has created a new space for communities to express public concerns, including environmental problems. In Sindang Jaya District, Tangerang Regency, residents affected by smoke from illegal waste disposal sites tended not to express objections directly because they felt they had limited access to influence policy. This study examines the role of TikTok content in addressing air pollution caused by illegal waste burning and analyzes @bapakmilenial.tng as an opinion leader. A qualitative single-case study was conducted using observation, in-depth interviews, documentation, purposive sampling, and data triangulation. The findings show that the account functions as a medium for information, education, and public concern, while Rizki builds trust, verifies community reports, bridges communication with relevant authorities, and sustains public attention. TikTok content contributed to raising and maintaining attention to the issue, although it cannot be considered the sole cause of government action. The findings confirm the relevance of the two-step flow of communication in a digital media context.

Abstract

Politeness is one of the important aspects in the development of students’ character. However, some students still demonstrate impolite behavior, such as using inappropriate words when speaking to peers and even teachers, teasing friends, paying insufficient attention to speaking etiquette, and not wearing complete school attributes according to school regulations. Therefore, this study employed group guidance services using a modeling technique based on local culture, aiming to determine the level of politeness of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pagentan before receiving group guidance services using a modeling technique based on local culture and to determine the improvement in students’ politeness after receiving the service. This study employed a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental method using a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects were 17 fifth-grade students. Data were collected using a politeness questionnaire. The results showed that students’ politeness levels before receiving the group guidance service varied, with 4 students in the high category, 9 students in the moderate category, and 4 students in the low category. The normality test showed that the pretest and posttest data were normally distributed. The paired sample t-test showed a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, indicating a difference in students’ politeness levels before and after receiving the service. In addition, the N-Gain test showed a mean score of 0.5016, which was categorized as moderate. Thus, it can be concluded that group guidance services using a modeling technique based on local culture through wayang media can improve the politeness of fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 1 Pagentan. Keywords: Group Guidance, Modeling Technique, Local Culture, Wayang as a Medium, Politeness.

Abstract

Digital comic media was developed in response to the low level of independence among early childhood children, particularly regarding personal hygiene after using the toilet and tidying up toys. This situation highlighted the need for engaging learning media suited to the characteristics of young children to help stimulate their independence. This study aimed to develop digital comic media suitable for fostering independence in children aged 4–5 years at TK-PG LAB FKIP UNRI. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the Borg and Gall development model, adapted to the specific needs of the research. The development stages included identifying potential and problems, gathering information, product design, design validation, design revision, and product testing. The digital comic media features stories and illustrations related to cleaning oneself after using the toilet and tidying up toys, allowing children to learn through the behavioral examples presented in the stories. Research instruments included expert validation sheets and media suitability assessment sheets. The results indicate that the digital comic media is considered highly suitable based on validation by subject matter experts (97.72%), media experts (90.38%), and educators (94%), as well as a limited trial (88%), placing it in the "highly suitable" category. Based on these findings, the digital comic media is deemed suitable for use as a learning tool to stimulate and enhance the independence of children aged 4–5 years.
