Abstract

Transformative education views humans as active subjects in the process of cultural formation and renewal. Education is no longer merely a means of transmitting static cultural values, but a vehicle for developing critical awareness and creativity in creating new values relevant to the progress of the times. This study aims to analyze how transformative education can shift the paradigm of passive cultural inheritance into a creative process of new cultural creation. The method used is a qualitative-descriptive approach with literature analysis based on Paulo Freire’s theory of liberating education. The results show that transformative education plays a vital role in fostering reflective ability, critical thinking, and social awareness among learners to re-evaluate existing cultural values and reconstruct them according to the needs of contemporary society. Education encourages the creation of a balance between the preservation of local culture and modern innovation. In conclusion, transformative education serves as an essential medium for shaping individuals not only as inheritors but also as creators of new culture that is adaptive, inclusive, and rooted in human values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the forms of verbal bullying occurring among upper-grade elementary students and the strategies employed by teachers to address these incidents at SD Negeri 68 Pekanbaru. The research used a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with homeroom teachers, classroom observations, and supporting documentation. The findings reveal that the dominant forms of verbal bullying include physical mockery, negative labeling, insulting remarks related to academic abilities, and intimidating verbal threats. These behaviors commonly occur during daily interactions inside the classroom and on the school grounds, often unnoticed by teachers due to their quick and subtle nature or because they are perceived as ordinary peer interactions. Teachers’ handling strategies consist of both preventive and corrective efforts. Preventive actions include strengthening students’ empathy, establishing classroom rules, fostering positive communication habits, and integrating character education into daily activities. Corrective strategies involve direct mediation between perpetrators and victims, classroom-based counseling, and collaboration with parents to follow up on repeated behaviors. However, teachers still face challenges such as limited time, insufficient professional training on bullying response, and a school culture that is not yet fully responsive to bullying issues. This study highlights the need for enhanced teacher training and reinforced school policies to prevent and manage verbal bullying more effectively and systematically.

Abstract

Background: Spinal anesthesia is widely used in orthopedic surgery, particularly in open reduction and internal fixation (ORIF) procedures for femoral fractures. However, hypotension remains the most common complication due to sympathetic nerve blockade, which may compromise patient safety, especially in elderly patients. The use of adjuvant agents such as epinephrine combined with bupivacaine is expected to reduce the required dose of local anesthetic and improve hemodynamic stability. Objective: This study aimed to describe the incidence of hypotension in patients with closed femoral fractures undergoing ORIF under spinal anesthesia using bupivacaine alone compared to bupivacaine combined with epinephrine as an adjuvant. Methods: This study employed a double-blind randomized controlled trial design. A total of five ASA II patients undergoing ORIF surgery were included. Three patients received isobaric bupivacaine 20 mg combined with epinephrine 0.2 mg, while two patients received isobaric bupivacaine 20 mg alone. Hemodynamic parameters, including blood pressure, heart rate, and oxygen saturation, were monitored intraoperatively. Hypotension was defined as a decrease in mean arterial pressure (MAP) greater than 20% from baseline. Results: Hypotension occurred in three out of five patients (60%). Patients receiving bupivacaine with epinephrine tended to experience delayed onset of hypotension compared to those receiving bupivacaine alone. Elderly patients showed a higher incidence of hypotension, suggesting age as a contributing risk factor. Conclusion: The use of epinephrine as an adjuvant to bupivacaine in spinal anesthesia may provide better hemodynamic stability during ORIF surgery in patients with femoral fractures, particularly in those at risk of cardiovascular complications.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether the mathematical concept understanding of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri 1 Megamendung who were taught using the STEM learning model was higher than that of students taught using the direct instruction model. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a non-equivalent control group design, conducted at SMP Negeri 1 Megamendung during the 2025/2026 academic year. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, with class VIII A serving as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class. Data collection techniques included tests, observation, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques utilized descriptive analysis and inferential analysis with the aid of the SPSS 20 for Windows program. Based on the results of the descriptive and inferential analysis, it was concluded that the mathematical concept understanding of students taught using the STEM learning model was categorized as good, the mathematical concept understanding of students taught using the direct instruction model was categorized as sufficient, and the mathematical concept understanding of students taught using the STEM learning model was higher than that of students taught using the direct instruction model.

Abstract

Rendahnya tingkat literasi membaca siswa sekolah dasar di Desa Sungai Terap menjadi permasalahan yang perlu mendapatkan perhatian serius. Minimnya minat baca, keterbatasan fasilitas pendukung literasi, serta kurangnya inovasi metode pembelajaran menjadi faktor utama yang mempengaruhi kondisi tersebut. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi membaca siswa melalui pemanfaatan pojok baca sekolah dengan menerapkan metode play based learning. Metode ini dipilih karena mampu menciptakan suasana belajar yang menyenangkan, interaktif, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik perkembangan anak. Pelaksanaan kegiatan meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi yang dilakukan secara partisipatif bersama pihak sekolah dan siswa. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan minat baca, partisipasi aktif siswa, serta kemampuan memahami bacaan secara bertahap. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan pojok baca berbasis permainan terbukti efektif dalam mendukung peningkatan literasi membaca siswa di Desa Sungai Terap. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model pengembangan literasi yang berkelanjutan di lingkungan sekolah dasar.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe the implementation of PBL (Problem-Based Learning) in Learning Animals Around Me Class IIB at SDN Rejosari 01. The type of research used was descriptive qualitative research. The collection of data used is observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that implementation of PBL (Problem-Based Learning) in Class IIB Animal learning around mein SDN Rejosari 01 helps increase the independence of students. Based on the learning outcomes obtained by students, it is explained that the implementation of PBL in this lesson can help students understand the existing material. The things that need to be improved in the implementation of PBL in learning Animals Around Me lie in the discussion activities carried out by students.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi dengan fenomena yang terjadi di Pondok Pesantren Ashabul Yamin Lasi, yaitu terdapat beberapa santriwati yang melakukan perilaku vandalisme seperti mencoret-coret meja, kursi dan merusak fasilitas pesantren lainnya. Salah satu faktor yang diduga berperan dalam munculnya perilaku vandalisme adalah konformitas teman sebaya. Remaja pada umumnya memiliki kecenderungan kuat untuk menyesuaikan diri dengan kelompoknya agar diterima dan tidak tersisih. Ketika kelompok teman sebaya menunjukkan perilaku negatif, maka individu cenderung ikut terlibat dalam tindakan serupa, termasuk vandalisme. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh konformitas teman sebaya terhadap perilaku vandalisme siswi/santriwati kelas 2 dan 3 tingkat Tsanawiyah di Pondok Pesantren Ashabul Yamin Lasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang bersifat asosiatif yaitu penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dua variabel atau lebih. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah santriwati kelas 2 dan 3 tingkat Tsanawiyah berjumlah 113 orang, teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan yaitu metode purposive sampling. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 46 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah angket dengan menggunakan skala likert dan kemudian diolah menggunakan uji regresi parametrik SPSS versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konformitas teman sebaya tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap perilaku vandalisme santriwati. Hasil ini diperoleh dari pengujian hipotesis dengan persentase besar pengaruh konformitas teman sebaya terhadap perilaku vandalisme santriwati yaitu sebesar 2.6%. Koefisien konstanta sebesar 104.805 dengan nilai koefisien regresi konformitas teman sebaya sebesar -0.181, sehingga diperoleh persamaan Y= 104.805-0.181x. Jika nilai X bernilai 0, artinya apabila konformitas teman sebayanya (0), maka perilaku vandalisme 104.805. Koefisien regresi sebesar untuk variabel konformitas teman sebaya sebesar - 0.181. Apabila pengaruhnya negatif antara variabel X dan variabel Y, menunjukkan bahwa semakin tinggi konformitas teman sebaya yang positif maka perilaku vandalisme santriwati semakin rendah.

Abstract

his report describes the implementation of the SERABI program (Senin Read Aloud dan Bercerita) as a school literacy initiative integrating artificial intelligence to support students’ reading and storytelling skills. The program was developed in response to students’ limited reading fluency, storytelling ability, and confidence in oral expression. The objective of the program is to foster reading aloud skills, storytelling competence, creativity, critical thinking, and digital literacy through enjoyable and routine literacy activities. The program was implemented using a descriptive approach through weekly activities conducted every Monday for 15–20 minutes, including reading aloud AI-generated stories, storytelling, digital story creation using Gemini AI, and guided discussions. The results show positive outcomes, including improved reading fluency, more expressive storytelling, increased student confidence, higher motivation to read, and active participation in literacy activities. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the process of strategic planning and the implementation of the School Development Plan (RPS/RKS) as a strategic management instrument in UPT SD Negeri 9 Tamalatea. The research was conducted using a descriptive qualitative approach to obtain an in-depth understanding of the planning process, stakeholder involvement, and the effectiveness of program implementation. Data were collected through interviews with the principal, teachers, and the school committee, complemented by observations, document analysis, and questionnaires. The results show that the RPS/RKS document has been well structured, aligning the school’s vision, mission, and goals with national education policies. However, the level of teacher participation in the planning process remains limited, and program implementation has not fully reflected the plans outlined in the document. Monitoring and evaluation activities are still conducted administratively without systematic performance indicators. The study concludes that the effectiveness of school strategic planning depends largely on participatory processes, managerial capacity, and continuous evaluation. Therefore, schools need to strengthen teacher involvement and establish a data-based evaluation system to ensure that the RPS/RKS serves as a dynamic tool for improving educational quality rather than merely fulfilling administrative requirements.

Abstract

In the context of implementing the Merdeka Curriculum, this study attempts to assess the efficacy of evaluation and follow-up procedures at SD IT Marhamah, an integrated Islamic elementary school in South Solok Regency. A descriptive qualitative method is used in this study. The principal and three teachers were interviewed in-depth, classroom observations were made, and assessment instrument records were examined in order to gather data. Twelve students served as research subjects. The Miles and Huberman model was used for data analysis. The results show that while assessments (diagnostic, formative, and summative) have been administered in accordance with the principles of the Merdeka Curriculum, there are still differences in the caliber of the instruments and the uniformity with which teachers apply the rubric. Remedial, enrichment, and character-building follow-ups have been conducted, but their documentation is still not organized. While time limits, differences in teachers' IT proficiency, and the lack of consistent rubrics are challenges, the principal's leadership and teacher collaboration are the primary supportive aspects. The conclusion is that while the school's assessment and follow-up procedures are rather successful, they are still not at their best. To guarantee long-term improvements in learning quality, it is necessary to strengthen the technical aspects of instrument creation, increase teacher proficiency in assessment analysis, and create a systematic follow-up documentation system.
