Abstract

Learning in the 21st century requires active student engagement to ensure that they not only acquire knowledge but also develop critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and communication skills. However, learning practices in elementary schools are still dominated by conventional methods that emphasize memorization, which are less supportive of critical thinking development. This study aims to examine learning models that have the potential to enhance students’ critical thinking skills in the subject of Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS). The method used is a thematic literature review by analyzing 10 accredited Sinta and international articles published between 2020-2024 that are relevant to the topic. The findings indicate that problem-based learning, project-based learning, and inquiry/discovery learning models have proven effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills. These models encourage active participation through activities such as discussions, experiments, investigations, and project creation, enabling students not only to receive information passively but also to analyze, evaluate, and solve problems independently. Therefore, the implementation of active learning models is highly recommended for teachers to improve the quality of IPAS learning while simultaneously fostering the critical thinking skills of elementary school students.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the SQ3R (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) learning model on improving elementary school students’ reading comprehension skills through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The SLR method was applied by analyzing relevant scientific articles from both national and international publications. The findings indicate that the implementation of the SQ3R model consistently provides positive impacts on students’ reading comprehension skills. SQ3R has been proven to enhance focus, active engagement, and retention of reading materials. Moreover, the model also increases students’ motivation and interest in reading, which in turn contributes to better learning outcomes. Therefore, the SQ3R model can be recommended as an effective instructional strategy to support reading literacy development in elementary schools.

Abstract

BUMDes Moncongloe is one of the strategic efforts of the village to foster economic independence and enhance its Original Village Revenue (PADes). However, its implementation still faces several managerial challenges, including suboptimal business planning, mismatches between budget reports and actual performance, and weak evaluation mechanisms. This study aims to examine the application of the Management Control System (MCS) in BUMDes Moncongloe through four key aspects: strategic planning, budgeting, performance implementation and measurement, and performance evaluation. This research uses a qualitative case study approach, with data collected through interviews with five key informants: the village head, BUMDes director, treasurer, supervisor, and community representative. The findings indicate that the MCS has been initiated but has not yet been optimally implemented. Strategic planning tends to be short-term, community involvement in budgeting is still limited, performance measurement lacks structured indicators, and evaluations are often informal and undocumented. Strengthening human resource capacity, developing standardized reporting systems, and enhancing coordination among stakeholders are necessary to achieve more effective and accountable BUMDes governance.

Abstract

Studi ini dimaksudkan untuk menelaah efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran RIMBA dalam ranah pengajaran Matematika, sebagai salah satu pendekatan alternatif guna mengatasi lemahnya penguasaan konsep matematis dan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Rendahnya pencapaian tersebut diduga kuat berakar dari penggunaan metode pengajaran yang repetitif dan minim daya rangsang terhadap kreativitas. Penelitian berlangsung selama empat sesi tatap muka di kelas V SDN Pemurus Dalam 2 Banjarmasin, dengan menggunakan pendekatan gabungan yang memadukan elemen kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data yang diperoleh memperlihatkan adanya peningkatan mencolok dalam partisipasi siswa, dari 38% pada sesi awal menjadi 94% pada sesi akhir. Tren peningkatan serupa tercermin pula dalam hasil belajar, yang melonjak dari 13% ke 81%. Temuan tersebut memperlihatkan bahwa model RIMBA memberikan dampak positif terhadap mutu pembelajaran dan patut dipertimbangkan sebagai strategi inovatif dalam dunia pendidikan.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the significant role of Islamic econ omics in promoting tolerance and fostering peace within multicultural and religiously diverse societies. In the context of increasing global interconnectedness, conflicts based on religion, ethnicity, and culture remain major challenges to social stability. Using a descriptive qualitative approach and literature study, this research analyzes the core principles of Islamic economics such as justice, equality, public interest (maslahah), and mutual cooperation and how these principles can be applied to create an inclusive and fair economic system. The findings reveal that Islamic economics, by emphasizing universal moral values and prohibiting exploitative practices such as riba (usury), maisir (gambling), and gharar (excessive uncertainty), fosters transparent and mutually beneficial economic relationships among people of different faiths. These principles not only contribute to economic well-being but also serve as a bridge for enhancing interfaith tolerance and social harmony. Consequently, Islamic economics stands as a strategic tool for building a peaceful and cohesive society. The study recommends broader implementation of Islamic economic values to strengthen social cohesion in Indonesia’s pluralistic context. Abstract

Speaking skills are one of the fundamental competencies that are important to develop from an early age. Therefore, a learning model that encourages students to be active in the learning process is needed. This study aims to improve and enhance students' speaking skills through the implementation of the Student Active Learning (SAL) model in Grade III of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Abrar. The type of research used is classroom action research, which consists of two cycles, with each cycle carried out in three meetings. The procedure of this research consists of four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were 28 third-grade students at MI Al-Abrar. The results of this study show that in the first cycle, only 11 students, or around 39%, achieved the Minimum Mastery Criteria (MMC). However, in the second cycle, all 28 students, or 100%, met the MMC, and the class average also reached 100%, which is categorized as high. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the implementation of the Student Active Learning model can improve the speaking skills of third-grade students at MI Al-Abrar.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Learning Cycle 5E model in reducing misconceptions among fourth-grade elementary students on the topic of force. The research employed a quasi-experimental method with a nonequivalent control group design. The participants consisted of 66 students: 33 students from SDN 1 Giriawas as the control group and 33 students from SDN 2 Giriawas as the experimental group. The research instrument was a multiple-choice test with the Certainty of Response Index (CRI) to identify students’ misconceptions. The results indicated that before the treatment, most students experienced misconceptions regarding force concepts. After applying the Learning Cycle 5E model, the number of misconceptions in the experimental class significantly decreased compared to the control class. The N-Gain test showed that the conceptual understanding improvement in the experimental group was in the medium category, while the control group was in the low category. Moreover, the independent sample t-test confirmed a significant difference between the two groups. Therefore, the Learning Cycle 5E model is proven effective in reducing misconceptions and can be recommended as an alternative instructional strategy for science learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

The development of Kinemaster-based audio visual media in science and science subjects in class V elementary school was motivated by the use of media or teaching materials that were not yet optimal and varied, there was no use of audio visual learning media based on Kinemaster in science subjects in class V elementary school, and student learning outcomes in There are still many science subjects which are below the criteria for achieving learning objectives (KKTP), which is 75. This research aims to develop Kinemaster-based audio visual media in science subjects for fifth grade elementary school to produce appropriate learning media and find out student learning outcomes after using audio media. Kinemaster based visuals. This research uses Research and Development using the ADDIE development model through 5 stages, namely analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. The subjects in this research were material experts, media experts, teachers and 28 class V students at UPT SPF SDN 106184 Sekip, Lubuk Pakam District. Data collection techniques in this research used observation, questionnaires, tests and documentation. Data analysis techniques are qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The results of the research show that the Kinemaster-based audio visual media product for grade V elementary school science subjects that has been developed and published via the YouTube application obtained a product validation data value, namely by material expert validators of 90.9% in the "Very feasible" category and by media expert validators of 90.9%. 98% in the "Very appropriate" category, and teacher response results of 96% in the "very appropriate" category. Student learning outcomes after using Kinemaster-based audio visual media obtained an N-Gain value of 0.4 in the "medium" category. Based on the results of the feasibility assessment, teacher responses, and student learning outcomes, it can be concluded that KineMaster-based audio visual media products for grade V elementary school science and science subjects are very feasible and good for use in learning to have a positive impact on student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguraikan secara mendalam upaya guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam mengurangi perilaku phubbing pada siswa SMAN 2 Palangkaraya. Menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif, data diperoleh melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam dengan guru PAI, siswa, dan wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum, serta dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan, dengan keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber, triangulasi metode, dan member check. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI menerapkan strategi terstruktur yang mencakup perencanaan dengan kesepakatan penggunaan gawai dan alur pembelajaran, pelaksanaan berbasis pembelajaran kontekstual, kreatif, dan adaptif, serta evaluasi interaktif menggunakan teknologi. Dukungan sekolah berupa fasilitas pembelajaran modern, pelatihan inovasi, dan kebijakan fleksibel turut memperkuat efektivitas strategi tersebut. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya menurunkan intensitas phubbing , tetapi juga meningkatkan motivasi belajar, keterlibatan siswa, dan suasana kelas yang positif. Penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi rujukan bagi pendidik dan institusi pendidikan dalam mengatasi phubbing di era digital.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of the Problem Based Learning model on students' creative thinking skills in Natural and Social Science subjects in elementary schools. The research method used a Quantitative Quasi Experiment with a Non-Equivalent Control Group design. Research data was collected through pretest and posttest, followed by data analysis, Hypotheses were analyzed using the Independent Sample t-test and N-gain test. The results of the study indicate a significant increase in the creative thinking abilities of students in the experimental class who received learning using the Problem-Based Learning model, achieving an average N-gain score of 79.6 (high category), while the control class, which received teacher-centered learning, only achieved 30.6 (low category). Also, the Independent Sample t-test produced a significance value of < 0.001 in the posttest results, indicating a significant difference between the two classes after the treatment. Thus, it can be concluded that the Problem-Based Learning model has a positive effect on improving the creative thinking skills of elementary school students in the Natural and Social Science subject.
