Abstract

This research and development was motivated by a problem found at SD Inpres Bertingkat Kelapa Lima 2, Kupang City. This problem is characterized by students' suboptimal beginning reading skills, particularly in memorizing and recognizing letters of the alphabet, which hinders their learning in class. Therefore, media such as picture word cards are needed to assist students in learning beginning reading, to attract their attention and interest. This study aims to develop effective picture word cards to improve beginning reading skills in grade I students of SD Inpres Bertingkat Kelapa Lima 2, Kupang City. This study used the research and development method with the ADDIE model: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The subjects were first-grade students at SD Inpres Bertingkat Kelapa Lima 2, Kupang City. The media development consisted of picture word cards, created based on the steps and tailored to students' learning needs. The quality of the picture word cards was assessed by expert validators, teacher responses, and student responses. The validation test results for the picture word cards by material experts and media experts categorized them as very valid, with validity scores of 95 and 90, respectively. The results of the teacher and student response tests for the picture word cards categorized them as very good (SB) with percentages of 87.5% and 83.3%, respectively. Based on the expert validation data, teacher responses, and student responses, it can be concluded that the picture word cards developed for beginning reading material are suitable for use as a medium in the learning process.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the contribution of Guidance and Counselling teachers in improving the independence of students with intellectual disabilities at SKH Negeri 02 Serang City. The problem addressed is the low level of independence among students with intellectual disabilities, caused by intellectual limitations, suboptimal environmental support, and limited facilities and teaching staff. In this study, the method used is qualitative, with data collection techniques carried out thru participant observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The main resource person is a guidance counselor at SKH Negeri 02 in Serang City, with interviews and observations conducted over two days at the school. The research results indicate that guidance counselors play a role as companions, motivators, and connectors between students, classroom teachers, and parents. Guidance counselors utilize modeling and behavioral approaches, and implement self-development programs (daily living) thru the independence laboratory. Independence assessment is conducted thru observation of students' daily activities, such as eating, dressing, and maintaining personal hygiene. The main challenges faced include a limited number of teachers, time constraints, and low public understanding of the needs of students with intellectual disabilities. This research recommends improving facilities, providing regular training for teachers, and educating the public to optimize guidance and counselling services for students with intellectual disabilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of Total Quality Management (TQM) principles in the management of educational staff at MTs Darul Ihsan Samarinda. The study focuses on five key TQM principles: customer focus, total involvement, continuous improvement, visionary leadership commitment, and data-based decision-making. This research used a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collection techniques including interviews, observation, and documentation. The study subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and administrative staff. The results indicate that TQM implementation at MTs Darul Ihsan has been quite effective, particularly in terms of visionary leadership and staff involvement. The principal plays an active role in building a culture of quality through open communication, staff empowerment, and regular performance evaluations. The principle of continuous improvement is implemented through periodic training and supervision, while the customer focus is realized through student and parent satisfaction surveys. However, challenges remain in the utilization of data and the lack of an integrated quality information system. Overall, the implementation of TQM principles has positively contributed to improving professionalism, discipline, and collaboration among educational staff at MTs Darul Ihsan Samarinda. This study recommends strengthening the data-driven management system, providing ongoing training for educational staff, and improving information technology support to ensure optimal and sustainable TQM implementation.

Abstract

This research investigates the effect of using the Baamboozle educational game on the learning motivation of fourth-grade students in Civic Education (PPKn) at GMIT Kuanino 1 Elementary School. This research was motivated by the observation that Civic Education learning is often considered monotonous, which reduces students’ enthusiasm and participation. The method used is a quasi-experimental design with a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design, involving 16 students as the research sample. Data were collected using a learning motivation questionnaire and analyzed with validity and reliability tests, normality and homogeneity tests, paired sample t-tests, and N-Gain analysis. The results show that the average score of students’ motivation increased from 42.63 in the pretest to 76.31 in the posttest. The N-Gain score of 0.58 was categorized as moderate, and the paired t-test showed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, the use of Baamboozle as a digital learning medium has a significant positive impact on improving students’ learning motivation in Civic Education.Keywords: Educational Game, Baamboozle, Learning Motivation

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji perbedaan mendasar dalam pengaturan pidana mati antara KUHP Kolonial (Wetboek van Strafrecht voor Nederlandsch-Indië) dan KUHP Nasional yang ditetapkan melalui Undang-Undang Nomor 1 Tahun 2023. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode yuridis normatif dengan pendekatan perundang-undangan, konseptual, dan komparatif untuk menelaah perubahan paradigma dalam kebijakan pemidanaan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa KUHP Kolonial menempatkan pidana mati sebagai pidana pokok yang bersifat absolut dengan orientasi pembalasan dan pengendalian sosial. Sebaliknya, KUHP Nasional mengatur pidana mati sebagai pidana khusus yang bersyarat dengan masa percobaan, sehingga pelaksanaannya hanya dilakukan sebagai upaya terakhir terhadap kejahatan luar biasa. Pergeseran ini mencerminkan perubahan orientasi hukum pidana Indonesia dari model retributif menuju pendekatan yang lebih humanis, berkeadilan, dan selaras dengan prinsip hak asasi manusia serta nilai-nilai Pancasila. Dengan demikian, pembaruan pengaturan pidana mati dalam KUHP Nasional merupakan langkah strategis dalam mewujudkan sistem pemidanaan yang lebih proporsional dan beradab tanpa menghilangkan fungsi perlindungan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of using illustrated books on improving early reading skills in second-grade students of SD Negeri 173127 Simanampang. This study used a quantitative approach with an experimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest. Before conducting the pretest-posttest, the researcher first conducted a trial of the instrument in a different school from the main research school. The results of the validity test showed that of the 25 items tested, 20 were declared valid, while the other 5 items were invalid. The reliability test produced a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.849, which is above the threshold of 0.70, so the instrument was declared reliable. Based on the difficulty level test, the questions were categorized as easy. The research subjects consisted of 12 second-grade students of SD Negeri 173127 Simanampang. The analysis results showed that the use of illustrated books had a positive impact on students' early reading skills. The students' average pretest score of 63.33 increased to 84.58 in the posttest. Based on the results of the hypothesis test, a significance value (2-tailed) of 0.00 was obtained, which is smaller than the significance level of 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of illustrated book media significantly contributes to improving students' early reading skills, including aspects of reading fluency, word recognition, and understanding of reading content. In addition, this media is also effective in fostering reading interest and encouraging students' active involvement in the learning process. Therefore, the application of illustrated book media has been proven to have a positive influence on improving early reading skills in class II of SD Negeri 173127 Simanampang.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji strategi yang diterapkan oleh guru Pendidikan Agama Islam (PAI) dalam meningkatkan interaksi sosial peserta didik dari keluarga broken home di SD IT Ahsanul Husna, Kota Padang. Latar belakang penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dari keluarga broken home menghadapi berbagai kesulitan sosial, seperti kecenderungan untuk menyendiri, merasa murung, takut berinteraksi secara santai, dan cenderung pendiam. Kesulitan-kesulitan ini memiliki dampak signifikan terhadap perkembangan karakter dan pertumbuhan sosial mereka. Fokus penelitian ini adalah mengidentifikasi bentuk-bentuk interaksi sosial yang ditunjukkan oleh peserta didik tersebut, strategi-strategi khusus yang diterapkan oleh guru PAI untuk memperbaiki interaksi tersebut, serta faktor-faktor pendukung dan penghambat yang memengaruhi pelaksanaan strategi tersebut. Pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif digunakan untuk memahami fenomena secara mendalam melalui observasi langsung, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi seperti sesi curhat, permainan bersama peserta didik, dan pengawasan ekstra terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan interaksi sosial peserta didik. Keberhasilan strategi ini didukung oleh lingkungan sekolah yang inklusif dan suportif, yang mendorong sikap penerimaan dan empati antar peserta didik. Namun, tantangan masih ada, terutama terkait dengan kondisi emosional peserta didik yang tidak stabil serta keterbatasan sumber daya yang dimiliki oleh sekolah dan guru. Kesimpulan penelitian menegaskan bahwa pendidikan Islam humanistik dapat menjadi model inklusif yang bernilai dalam pembinaan sosial di lingkungan pendidikan. Pendekatan ini menekankan pentingnya perhatian terhadap kebutuhan emosional dan sosial peserta didik selain aspek akademik, serta memberikan kontribusi teoretis dan praktis yang signifikan bagi pengembangan pendidikan dasar. Model ini tidak hanya mendukung perkembangan holistik peserta didik tetapi juga memberikan panduan bagi para pendidik yang bekerja dengan populasi yang rentan.

Abstract

This research is included in classroom action research. The purpose of this study is to improve the process and learning outcomes of social studies by using indmap in students of SD Negeri 15 Kapalokoto, Sungaipua District. Using the Mind Map method in class VI SDN 15 Kapalokoto, Sungaipua District. from the average grade point of 65.76 to 71.92 and when viewed from the achievement of KKM this value has reached KKM. Then in cycle II, the average score of students increased again to 76.90. The score has reached KKM and has reached the target where more than 75% of students obtained scores of more than 70.00. The results of observing student attitudes, from cycle I to cycle II have increased. This is evidenced by increased student learning outcomes. From the description above, it can be concluded that the learning outcomes and activeness of grade VI students of SD Negeri 15 Kapalokoto, Sungaipua District increased by using Minmap in social studies subjects.

Abstract

Pengembangan media Pop-Up Book materi bagian tubuh tumbuhan merupakan salah satu alat untuk membantu meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa. Kebutuhan penggunaan media yang menarik menjadi alasan yang melatarbelakangi penelitian. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mengetahui kelayakan media, kepraktisan penggunaan media, dan keefektifan media. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D), dengan menggunakan model ADDIE. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa media pembelajaran Pop-Up Book kelas IV berdasarkan hasil validasi media diperoleh skor 99% dan hasil validasi materi diperoleh skor 98%. Sedangkan data respon guru diperoleh skor 96% dan repon siswa diperoleh skor 82,1%”. Dan hasil tingkatan motivasi belajar siswa dilihat berdasarkan Sig.(2-tailed) yang mendapatkan 0,000<0,005, dapat dikatakan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Ada peningkatan yang signifikan kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan media sebesar 15,37 lebih besar dibandingkan kelas kontrol sebesar 8,84. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, maka media pembelajaran Pop-Up Book BATUTA materi bagian tubuh tumbuhan kelas IV SDN 1 Kadipiro efektif dapat meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa dan dapat mengubah konsep abstrak menjadi lebih konkret.

Abstract

Kemampuan sains merupakan aspek penting dalam perkembangan kognitif anak usia dini karena membantu membentuk cara berpikir logis, rasa ingin tahu, dan pemahaman terhadap fenomena alam di sekitar mereka. Namun, pembelajaran sains di PAUD masih sering dilakukan secara konvensional melalui penjelasan verbal guru tanpa melibatkan anak secara aktif dalam eksperimen. Kondisi ini menyebabkan anak kurang memahami konsep ilmiah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh metode eksperimen Balon Ajaib terhadap kemampuan sains anak usia 5–6 tahun di Taman Kanak-kanak Aisyiyah 11 Kota Padang. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh anak Taman Kanak-Kanak Aisyiyah 11 Kota Padang. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik Purposive Sampling . sampel yang digunakan yaitu kelas B2 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas B1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang masing-masing kelas berjumlah 10 anak. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas, dan uji hipotesis. Berdasarkan tabel uji hipotesis dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,004 < 0,05, yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Nilai rata-rata kemampuan sains anak di kelas eksperimen meningkat dari 9,3 pada pre-test menjadi 22,1 pada post-test, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya meningkat dari 8,5 menjadi 18,9. Dengan demikian ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa metode eksperimen Balon Ajaib efektif meningkatkan kemampuan sains anak usia dini melalui kegiatan belajar yang aktif, menyenangkan, dan bermakna. Metode ini dapat dijadikan alternatif inovatif bagi guru PAUD dalam mengembangkan pembelajaran sains berbasis pengalaman langsung.
