Abstract

The rice thresher is very necessary in today's agricultural mechanization process, to increase the productivity of agricultural products and speed up the time in post-harvest processing. The purpose of this study was to determine the capacity of the processed rice thresher machine, to determine the length of time required for one processing per cycle, and to determine the consumption of fuel used per cycle of testing. This research method uses an experimental method, namely by weighing the weight of the rice stalks before and after threshing. The results of this study were obtained, namely at a load of 1 kg of rice stalks it produced a capacity of 0.085 (kg/s) with the resulting fuel consumption of 0.21 (ml/s); a different load of 1.5 kg which produces a capacity of 0.098 (kg/hour) with a resulting fuel consumption of 0.25 (ml/s) and a load of 2 kg of rice stalks produces a capacity of 0.099 (kg/s) with a resulting fuel consumption of 0.27 (ml/s).

Abstract

The occurrence of problems in the production process is something that must be resolved immediately so it to disrupt the smooth protracted production process, as is the case with process disturbances that occur in the clean water production process at PDAM Surya Sembada Surabaya. In the process of water flow being processed from the filter tank to the clearator tank, water overflow often occurs due to a sudden increase in water discharge without monitoring. As a result of this overflow of water, production materials are wasted and of course also results in wasted costs. This problem was tried to be solved by installing a level sensor on the tank clearator so that the water level could be monitored by the monitoring team. Warning when the water level approaches the threshold will help the operator to immediately reduce the water discharge coming out of the tank filter so that there is no wasted overflow of water. Feasibility analysis of investing in the installation of level sensors carried out to find out for sure whether from an economic point of view this level sensor provides benefits for the company. By calculating the Net Present Value (NPV) and Benefit Cost Ratio (BCR), it will be known how the investment feasibility of installing the level sensor.

Abstract

Offshore facilities are exploration areas that can be removed on the beach from a geographical location. Offshore facilities are located offshore and far from land with different forms of construction and very limited space for workers, so that occupational safety and health factors are a top priority in implementing For this reason, it is necessary to pay attention to the proper scheduling and equitable replacement of crew so that activities carried out at Offshore Facilities can reduce the impact of offshore worker accidents. The Critical Path Method (CPM) identifies the critical path as a series of components for the total number of activities and indicates the longest time period with the fastest project completion. The critical path starts from the first activity to the last project. The critical path is important for implementation projects. Activities that are delayed on one track will cause a delay in the project as a whole. The estimated time used in CPM is only one that represents normal time (Kholil, et al, 2018). In carrying out a management project to get the critical path, use a parallel layout which is arranged proportionally by calculating the distance traveled. If the company is able to apply the Critical Path Method (CPM) method well, then the project can be completed in the right timeframe and can help the company in planning and controlling projects with more efficient time and costs. PERT (Program Evaluation and Technology Review) is a project management technique that uses three time estimates for each activity. The three estimation numbers, namely a (optimistic timeframe), b (pessimistic timeframe), and m (most likely timeframe). By carrying out the Rescheduling Process using the CPM and PERT Approaches, it can provide information and applications to complete the ongoing project schedule and which will be carried out at a later date besides indirectly contributing to cutting costs incurred in completing the project.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the causes of defects in Kretek cigarettes at PT. XYZ, and how to minimize defects in Kretek cigarettes using the DMAIC approach at PT. XYZ. Data analysis was performed using the six sigma concept, which includes DMAIC. The research results are (1) the causes of defects or defects consist of 4 factors: humans, methods, materials, and the environment. The human factor is that operators leave the machine during production fatigue and lack concentration. The method factor is not checking raw materials and the lack of instructions. Material factors include raw materials or materials of poor quality with the category of non-sticky glue and dislodged filters, and for environmental factors, there is engine noise and ambient temperature. (2) The results of the analysis of the DPMO Sigma Quality Level and Process Capability values for cigarette stick products with an attribute defect in the form of non-sticky glue produce an average DPMO value of 550716.8432 with a sigma level of 1.38. In contrast, the attribute defect in the form of Dislodged Filters produces an average DPMO value of 234511.2977 with a sigma level of 2.23. These results are categorized as low process capability, so their performance needs to be improved. Thus, recommendations for appropriate corrective actions are given, namely by providing training and training to workers. They offer directions in strengthening SOPs for checking raw materials, improving the quality standards of raw materials received, and equipping workers with equipment such as masks and ear plugs as well as higher concentrations during the production process so that defects can be minimized.

Abstract

Utilizing hydrokinetic energy through water turbines is a promising solution for generating renewable electricity. Water turbines play a crucial role in converting the kinetic energy of water into mechanical energy that can be used to drive electrical generators. This research focuses on the optimal design of a nozzle for water turbines to enhance the performance of hydrokinetic energy. The main objective of this study is to design and analyse an efficient nozzle for water turbines. The nozzle has a critical function in directing the flow of water efficiently and increasing the flow velocity into the water turbine. In the nozzle design, various parameters such as nozzle shape, diameter, angle, and length are considered to achieve optimal performance. The results of this research demonstrate that an optimal nozzle design can significantly enhance the performance of hydrokinetic energy in water turbines. An efficient nozzle design can increase the flow velocity, thereby resulting in increased power output from the turbine. Moreover, the use of genetic algorithms in optimizing the nozzle design aids in efficiently obtaining an optimal design.

Abstract

The MBKM (Merdeka Learning Kampus Merdeka) activity is part of the Merdeka Learning policy which allows students and lecturers to carry out various activities outside the campus. This study aims to design an application for monitoring MBKM activities and student achievement at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Kuningan. The application development model used in this study is a prototyping model with stages: needs analysis, building prototyping, evaluating prototyping, system coding and using the system. In the process of storing evidence of MBKM activity documentation such as MBKM photos & certificates of achievement & MBKM, an image compression technique is needed to streamline data storage and transmission which saves bandwidth and storage, image file compression techniques are applied using the LZW algorithm (Lempel Ziv Welch) so that data file storage is more efficient. efficiently without reducing image quality. The results of this study are an application for monitoring MBKM activities and student and lecturer achievements that aim to document & evaluate MBKM activities & achievements at the Faculty of Computer Science, University of Kuningan, making it easier to report MBKM activities and lecturer & student achievements.

Abstract

Keeping the materials at their highest value for as long as possible through reusing and recycling the waste, was the most applicable method for waste elimination, an application of the circular economy concept in Indonesia. The problem in waste management in Pangkalan Kerinci is, that during the transport and treatment to the landfill area, the waste is not sorted and mixed yet. This study uses a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The study found that the town of Pangkalan Kerinci Environmental service have serve 72% of the town area, using 19 vehicles (dumping truck), 19 routes for trash collection, 4 collapsible vehicles (bin container truck), and motorcycles for non-accessible locations. Problems found in waste management in Pangkalan Kerinci are; the lack of waste banks and garbage bins, lack of personnel in transporting and sorting, lack of excavators in the landfill facility, and the short supply of dump trucks and trash collecting vehicles
