Abstract

This study aims to identify the root causes of defects in stick lolipop products at PT. XYZ and develop improvement steps using the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) method. The analysis revealed that hole defects were the most dominant type, accounting for 41.7% of total defects. The primary causes include human factors (lack of training and work fatigue), machinery (irregular maintenance and aging machines), materials (low quality raw materials), environment (insufficient ventilation and lighting), methods (setting errors and inadequate SOP supervision), and measurements (limited measuring tools). After implementing improvements such as operator training, periodic machine maintenance, quality enhancement of raw materials, and stricter SOP supervision, the defect percentage decreased by 37.17%.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze behavior at the Bili-Bili Dam based on instrumentation data collected from the construction period to operation. The data used includes the results of measurements of horizontal deviation, changes in vertical height, and pore air pressure obtained through instruments such as sliding stakes, piezometers, and auto levels. The main focus of the research is to identify changes over time, address dam stability, and provide recommendations for mitigating the risk of structural failure. This research method involves collecting secondary data from measurement records from 1997 to 2023. Analysis was carried out using permit acceptance criteria based on ICOLD (International Commission on Large Dams) standards. The results of horizontal deviation measurements show that the largest movement occurs at the top of the dam, but is still within the design tolerance limits. Vertical measurements show the greatest elevation decrease (subsidence) in the central part of the dam, which remains in line with initial predictions based on geotechnical parameters. Meanwhile, pore water pressure measured via a piezometer shows a normal decrease in accordance with changes in reservoir water level. The research results showed that the freezing that occurred was mostly caused by consolidation of the rock fill material and hydraulic interactions between the water reservoir and the dam structure. However, several areas show anomalies that require further monitoring, especially on the left and right wings of the dam. In conclusion, the Bili-Bili Dam is still in a stable and safe condition. Recommendations include increased monitoring of area anomalies and strengthening the routine maintenance program to maintain long-term stability..

Abstract

The research involves collecting historical sedimentation data, analyzing sediment distribution, and calculating the actual capacity of the reservoir. The average annual sedimentation was recorded at 0.597 million m³, this value is five times greater than the initial prediction of 0.1 million m³ per year. The measurement results show that the reservoir storage capacity in 2023 will be 33.81 million m³, a decrease from the initial capacity of 40.4 million m³. The high rate of sedimentation is caused by factors such as changes in land use in the upstream watershed, high rainfall in the area, and soil erosion due to human activities. The impact is a significant reduction in reservoir storage capacity, reducing its useful life from initial planning to around 15 years faster. The distribution of sedimentation in the Ponre-Ponre Dam shows diverse patterns, including delta deposits in the upstream section, tapering deposits in the middle zone, and wedge-shaped deposits around the dam. This pattern reflects the distribution of coarse material which is concentrated in the upstream area, while fine material tends to settle in the downstream area. In addition, the data shows an increase in the elevation of the reservoir base due to sediment accumulation which reaches an average of 7.6 mm per year. The conclusion of this research is that sedimentation has reduced the effective capacity of the storage, thereby accelerating the reduction in the useful life of the dam. To overcome this problem, it is recommended to implement intensive land conservation in the upstream watershed, optimize reservoir operations through flushing and dredging methods, and develop a technology-based monitoring system to extend the useful life of the dam. Apart from that, collaboration between the government and the community in maintaining the upstream watershed ecosystem is the key to sustainable management of the Ponre-Ponre Dam.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the level of sedimentation that occurs and its impact on the reservoir capacity. The data used includes bathymetry measurements in 2023, drift and bottom sediment discharge, as well as historical sediment inflow data. Analysis was carried out to calculate sediment volume, sedimentation rate, and changes in reservoir capacity. The research results show that the Bili-Bili Reservoir experienced a significant reduction in storage capacity from 1997 to 2023. The total sedimentation that occurred reached 50 million cubic meters, reducing the storage capacity from 375 million cubic meters to 325 million cubic meters. The actual sedimentation rate of 1.5 mm per year exceeds the initial plan. This condition means that the useful life of the reservoir, which was originally designed for 50 years, is estimated to only be able to last up to 19 years of the remaining life of the existing reservoir, which is faster than the design plan life. This impact not only reduces flood control capacity but also reduces the effectiveness of water supply. standard for society. Recommendations from this research include implementing catchment area management with conservation techniques such as reforestation and land use control, increasing the frequency of sediment dredging in reservoirs, as well as using sediment control building technology to reduce the entry of sediment material into reservoirs. The results of this research provide relevant information for sustainable planning and management of reservoirs so that their function remains optimal in the future.

Abstract

Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) in broiler chicken farms is very important to prevent work accidents and diseases. This study used the Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) method to identify potential hazards and assess their risks. Data were obtained through direct observation and interviews at the Alif Broiler Chicken Farm. The results showed that there were 16 potential hazards, with 10 categorized as low risk and 6 as medium risk. The main hazards include injuries due to chicken pecking, irritation from disinfectants, and muscle injuries due to lifting heavy loads. This study also identified the absence of standard operating procedures (SOPs) as one of the main causes of work accidents. To reduce the risk, the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and strict implementation of SOPs are recommended. In conclusion, preventive hazard control through SOPs can improve work safety in broiler chicken farms.

Abstract

The high illiteracy rate in Papua reflects significant social and economic challenges. This is largely due to the low educational participation rate in the region compared to the national average. Appropriate strategies are needed to support social and economic equity in Indonesia. This research aims to analyze the influence of education level, economic factors, and population on the high illiteracy rate using simulation. Agent-Based Modeling is used to simulate the interactions of these factors and understand their impact on the system. The results show that a combination of improved education quality and economic growth is a key factor in reducing illiteracy rates. Therefore, policy recommendations that consider the findings of this research are expected to support equity and development in Papua.

Abstract

Land use refers to an organized spatial management pattern through institutional arrangements for the benefit of the community in a fair manner. Land use maps serve as an analysis tool that helps determine the area of the area, monitor development, and identify land use patterns. This study aims to produce land use map planning in Sematang Borang District by utilizing manual measuring devices and GPS.  The research method used by the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) method was used to obtain additional information from related agencies. The process of planning land use maps in Sematang Borang District begins with the identification of problems and regional objectives, followed by field surveys to collect primary and secondary data. The results will be a reference for more targeted and sustainable land use policies. The results of the land use map planning research comprehensively describe the allocation of space for various functions, such as settlements, industries, green open spaces, and conservation. Environmental, social, and economic aspects are the main focus in this planning, with the aim of supporting sustainable management of the area. The environmental aspect pays attention to the sustainability of natural resources and ecosystem protection, while the social aspect emphasizes an inclusive approach to local communities for well-being.

Abstract

The amount of shrimp shell waste is quite abundant in Indonesia, but its utilization is not optimal. Shrimp shells contain chitin that can be processed into chitosan. Chitosan polymer can be developed for Enhanced Oil Recovery. Testing the characteristics of shrimp shell chitosan has been carried out, but the recovery factor results in coreflooding are still very small. Additional characteristic tests such as adsorption tests are needed. This study was conducted to determine the characteristics of shrimp shell chitosan polymers by conducting tests such as compatibility tests, viscosity, adsorption. In this study, an experiment was conducted using biopolymer-chitosan with shrimp shell raw materials. The material for making formation water used NaCl with a salinity of 10,000 and 20,000 mg/L. The concentration of chitosan biopolymer was varied with 5,000, 10,000, and 15,000 mg/L. The size of the sand grains used was 60 mesh. The results of the tests that had been carried out all samples were declared compatible for use. The highest viscosity value was 1,055.19 cP and adsorption was 26.63 mg/g.

Abstract

CV. Pohuwato Jaya Abadi is a business engaged in the mining industry in Gorontalo. During its supply chain activities, this MSME has experienced problems in the production procurement process and delivery that is not on time. The procurement process of MSMEs has experienced shortages in the supply of raw materials so that it affects the production process in the form of not achieving production targets and late delivery of products. In an effort to solve the problem, MSME supply chain performance measurement is carried out using the SCOR and AHP methods which aim to identify supply chain performance by knowing what indicators are used and providing suggestions for improvement. The results showed that there were 16 performance indicators selected. Based on the results of data processing, it shows 8 performance indicators that need to be improved.

Abstract

Produced Water is water that is produced from wells along with oil during the production process. Produced water contains soluble and insoluble oil/organics, dissolved solids, and various chemicals used in the production process. The Produced Water Pump functions to push water from the tank to the injection well which is flowed through pipes. The purpose of this study is to determine the productivity of the product water pump using the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) method which obtained the results at a performance value of 82% where this value did not reach the maximum OEE standard so that further action will be taken immediately in order to get improvements using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) method with proposed improvements Providing additional training on the importance of routine maintenance and the impact of negligence, Implementing an objective performance appraisal system, Asking workers to make reports after completing maintenance tasks so that workers can find out the history of previous machine maintenance.
