Abstract

UMKM Rm. Mas Joko Seafood Lamongan is a micro, small and medium enterprise or also called a home industry that focuses on selling ready-to-eat food. The problem with this UMKM is the layout that is not properly organized. This can be seen from the location of the unstructured facilities because in the production room it only has a road width of approximately 1 meter and can only be passed by two people, each department always collides in the production process, there are also several departments that are not structured and still have quite a lot of alternating current so that the production process is not optimal. The purpose of this study is to improve the layout of the UMKM Mas Joko Seafood Lamongan production process using the SLP (Systematic Layout Planning) and Blocplan methods so that the results are obtained. In the four proposed layouts, there are savings in the distance between work stations using rectilinear, with a significant difference in distance of 665 m in one production.

Abstract

U-turns on road sections do not completely solve the problem of traffic flow conflicts, U-turns can be one of the factors of conflict problems in the form of obstacles in the same or opposite direction. U-turn on Jalan Let. Gen. Hertasning, which is in front of the PLN office and Toko Duta Irama, has quite long queues and delays during peak hours and the distance between the two u-turns is only ±350 meters. The objectives of this research: 1) Analyze vehicle delays and queues when making a U-turn; 2) Implement traffic management for u-turns on Jalan Let Jend Hertasning. The main reference method is to use the 1997 Indonesian Capacity Manual (MKJI) method. The results obtained: 1) The queue at the u-turn obtained at the u-turn in front of the PLN office was 21.44 pcu with a queue length of 143 meters and a queue at The u-turn in front of the Ambassador Rhythm shop is 17.67 smp with a queue length of 118 meters. The delay that occurred due to the u-turn in front of the PLN office was 13.30 sec/pcu and the delay that occurred at the u-turn in front of the Cadaver shop was 11.91 sec/pcu. 2) Improve traffic management with capacity management, namely shifting the median opening in front of the PLN Office by ±150 meters, installing traffic signs in the opposite direction of the u-turn in front of Toko Duta Irama so that vehicles turning around are protected. Improvements with demand management, Jalan Toddopuli is made into a one-way road to Jalan Let Jend Hertasning on weekdays, namely Monday-Friday and a two-way road on holidays.

Abstract

This research developed a rainfall-runoff model to predict inflow at the Bili-Bili Dam and to evaluate the model's accuracy. The Soil Conservation Service Curve Number (SCS-CN) method, implemented using HEC-HMS software, was employed to construct the rainfall-runoff model. Model accuracy was assessed using three statistical indices: Nash-Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE), Percent Bias (PBIAS), and Coefficient of Determination (R²), by comparing the predicted inflow with measured inflow data. Climatological data (rainfall) and topographic data served as model inputs, while measured inflow data provided the benchmark for validation. Model simulations for the January 14-17, 2024, flood period yielded a peak inflow of 673.6 m³/s at the Bili-Bili Dam on January 15, 2024. The model's temporal prediction aligned with the measured data, although the predicted inflow was slightly lower than the observed values. Statistical evaluation revealed good model performance, indicated by an NSE of 0.793, a PBIAS of -1.86%, and an R² of 0.81. The high NSE value signifies good agreement between predicted and measured data, while the small negative PBIAS suggests a tendency for the model to slightly underestimate inflow. The high R² value (0.81) indicates that 81% of the inflow variability is explained by the model. Despite the model's satisfactory performance, further calibration and refinement are recommended to enhance predictive accuracy, particularly in complex hydrological conditions. This research contributes to improved inflow prediction capabilities at the Bili-Bili Dam, crucial for effective water resource planning and management in the region. The findings support more informed decision-making in flood management and mitigation within the Bili-Bili watershed..

Abstract

Indonesia is an archipelagic country and is one of the largest maritime countries in the world where 2/3 of its territory is water (sea), so sea transportation has an important role for archipelagic countries. The role of sea transportation cannot be avoided, because sea transportation drives the mobility of passengers, goods and services within and outside the country. Transportation of passengers, goods and services is more efficient by sea than by land and air because the carrying capacity of ships is greater than that of land and air vehicles. Baubau City has a very strategic location in Indonesia's maritime shipping lanes. In Baubau City itself, sea transportation is the most popular mode of transportation because ships have great access to various corners of Indonesia. Apart from that, ship ticket prices are relatively cheap compared to airplanes. The aim of this research is to analyze the operational influence of sea transportation services on passenger satisfaction at the Murhum port in Baubau City and to analyze the satisfaction variables that most dominantly influence passenger satisfaction at the Murhum port in Baubau City. The research method used was qualitative descriptive analysis through a questionnaire with the SPSS application. The sample from the existing population was determined to be 100 respondents. The results obtained were variable X1: Physical evidence of 0.211; X2 Officer Reliability, 114; X3 Officer Responsiveness 0.144; X4 Security Guarantee 0.096; X5 Empathy Attitude 0.141 and X6 Punctuality 0.776. The coefficient number with the most dominant influence is on the variable X6 on timeliness with a value of 0.776 which has an influence in the strong category. This is because the ship's departure and arrival schedule is on time.

Abstract

With the growth of the economy and market demand, Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play a significant role in economic development by providing employment opportunities and enhancing local economic growth, typically through small-scale production by artisans and small producers. UMKM XYZ is a small-scale service business specializing in motorcycle shock absorber repairs, employing three workers. In this workshop, issues related to workers' postures were identified, which caused discomfort and potential health problems. The Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method was utilized to evaluate the workers' body posture, including the positions of the neck, back, arms, wrists, and legs. Consequently, sample data were collected and analyzed to implement improvements in the shock absorber repair process. An assistive tool was designed as a proposed solution to improve workers' postures to be more ideal, resulting in lower REBA scores.

Abstract

Currently the world is facing energy crisis. This is due to the increasingly depleting energy sources from non-renewable fossil raw materials such as petroleum, natural gas and coal which are not balanced by increasing population growth. The solution to the energy crisis from fossil raw materials is using alternative energy sources, one of them is biomass. Lignocellulose D07 is a product biomass from the seaweed processing industries, that comes from plant lignocellulose. Biomass quality can be improved by using the pyrolysis method. Pyrolysis is a thermal degradation method without the oxygen. Pyrolysis produces two main products, that is char (charcoal) and liquid smoke. Pyrolysis temperature can affect the quality of the resulting product. Charcoal from the pyrolysis process can be used for making biobriquettes. Biobriquettes one of renewable energy that can be produced from various raw materials, are cleaner and environmentally friendly. When we make biobriquettes, we need add adhesive to unite the charcoal granules so that they can be shaped as needed. The type of adhesive can affect the quality of the product produced. Based this background, this research has two objectives, namely to determine the effect of pyrolysis temperature on the quality of charcoal and to determine the effect of adhesive type on the quality of briquettes. There are three pyrolysis temperatures used, namely 300,350,400⁰C, while the adhesive used includes starch, sago and cornstarch. The analysis carried out includes water content, ash content, volatile matter, heating value and sulfur. Based on the research results, it was found that a pyrolysis temperature of 400 ⁰C was the best variable with a water content of 2.8%, ash content of 5.2%, volatile content of 30.47 and a heating value of 6832 cal/gram. Meanwhile, the briquette adhesive that showed the best quality was obtained from sago with the highest calorific value of 6874 cal/gram, water content of 4.9%, ash content of 5.06% and volatile matter of 40.66%.

Abstract

This research focuses on the effectiveness of pedestrian functions based on the level of sidewalk service on Jalan A.P. Pettarani, Makassar City. With rapid population growth and increasing vehicle volumes, the condition of pedestrian infrastructure is often neglected, resulting in serious problems in community mobility. This research aims to analyze the relationship between the level of sidewalk service and the effectiveness of pedestrian function using a quantitative research approach method with a sample size of 100 respondents. The research results show that the pedestrian flow variable (X3) does not have a significant effect on the effectiveness of pedestrian function, due to the dominance of motorized vehicles and poor sidewalk conditions. And the variables Pedestrian Density Walking speed (X1), Pedestrian density (X2) and Pedestrian space (X4) greatly influence the effectiveness of pedestrian function along the sidewalk on that road section. This research recommends improving infrastructure and enforcing regulations on sidewalk use to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment. It is hoped that these findings can become the basis for planning better transportation policies in Makassar City, as well as increasing awareness of the importance of pedestrian facilities in supporting community mobility

Abstract

One of the important processes in the clean water treatment process is coagulation. Parameters that influence the coagulation process are pH and coagulant concentration. Tapioca flour can be used as a natural coagulant to reduce turbidity. In this research, river water was used as a source of raw water used in the clean water processing process which has a turbidity of 13.36 NTU. The jar test was carried out to determine the effect of coagulant concentration and pH on reducing turbidity. The coagulation process was carried out using variations in coagulant concentration (1,2,3,4,5 and 6 ppm) and 4 variations in pH (3,5,7 and 9). The results showed that the amount of turbidity reduction varied at each pH used. The coagulation process which takes place in very acidic conditions (pH = 3) results in a greater reduction in water turbidity, namely 3.20 NTU. Almost the same level of turbidity reduction was also seen in the coagulation process which took place at pH 5 and 7, namely 5.22 NTU and 4.30 NTU. Meanwhile, coagulation under alkaline conditions (pH = 9) will result in a smaller decrease in turbidity, namely 11.43 NTU. Based on the final turbidity measurement results, it can be seen that the amount of turbidity reduction is also greatly influenced by the coagulant concentration. Changes in turbidity reduction with variations in coagulant concentration vary at each pH used. At pH 3,5,7 and 9 the decrease in turbidity will be greater at a concentration of 6 ppm. The reduction in turbidity proves the effectiveness of the effect of increasing coagulant concentration and pH using tapioca flour as a natural coagulant in the clean water treatment process.

Abstract

Indonesia is a tropical country, has a wealth of coconut trees spread throughout its territory, from Sumatra to Papua. This country is the largest coconut producer in the world and is the main supplier of coconut commodities in the global market. This condition opens up great opportunities to develop coconuts into various useful products. One of the popular coconut products is coconut oil or Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO). The purpose of this study was the effect of VCO storage time in an open glass bottle container at a temperature of 40°C on the quality parameters of peroxide number and turbidity. The results of the study showed an increase in the value of VCO both in peroxide number and Turbidity every week for seven weeks of storage in an open glass bottle container at a temperature of 40°C. Where the shelf life based on the peroxide number is 42 days and for the Turbidity shelf life 46 days. This increase indicates a physical change in VCO due to interaction with environmental conditions such as temperature, light, humidity and oxygen exposure, which affect VCO. The effect of time (t, days) of VCO storage in open glass bottles on the quality parameters of the peroxide number (Bp, meq / Kg) and turbidity (TB, NTU) can be seen in the exponential equation. The equation for Bp = 1.0536. Exp [ 0.0249 . t ], while the equation for Tb = 1.0247. Exp [ 0.0347. t ] . Based on the analysis of the shelf life of VCO, it was found that the peroxide number and turbidity values tend to increase with increasing storage time.
