Abstract

The MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Convention, and Exhibition) industry contributes significantly to economic growth at both national and regional levels. As a metropolitan city in western Indonesia, Palembang holds great potential for MICE tourism development, supported by adequate infrastructure, rich cultural heritage, and an increasing number of events and tourist visits. This study aims to analyze the role of the Palembang City Tourism Office in MICE tourism development, specifically in its functions as a motivator, facilitator, and dynamizer. The study using a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with selected internal informants. The findings show the Palembang City Tourism Office has actively promoted awareness and public participation, established regulations, improved infrastructure, and provided human resource training. It also fosters collaboration among stakeholders and initiates major MICE events. These efforts highlight the government's strategic role in strengthening Palembang’s position as an emerging MICE destination. Abstract

Perkembangan positif sektor pariwisata Indonesia pasca pandemi ditandai dengan peningkatan peringkat Indonesia ke posisi ke-22 dari 119 negara dalam Travel and Tourism Development Index (TTDI) tahun 2024 dirilis oleh World Economic Forum (WEF). Kontribusi terhadap tren ini terlihat pada tingkat daerah, salah satunya di Kabupaten Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI), Sumatera Selatan, yang tengah mengoptimalisasi potensi desa wisata. Salah satu elemen krusial dalam pembangunan desa wisata berupa akomodasi homestay, berperan sebagai penginapan dan media interaksi budaya dan sosial bagi wisatawan. Namun, pengelolaan homestay di kabupaten PALI masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan dari segi kualitas layanan dan keterlibatan masyarakat secara profesional. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan menyusun rekomendasi strategi pengelolaan homestay dalam rangka meningkatkan kepuasan wisatawan sebagai bagian dari pembangunan desa wisata. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan melalui wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi, dan penyebaran kuesioner. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengelolaan yang efektif secara optimal dapat dilakukan melalui peningkatan kapasitas sumber daya manusia, pengembangan atraksi wisata dan penguatan infrastruktur. Adapun strategi ini diharapkan mampu meningkatkan kepuasan wisatawan, memperpanjang durasi kunjungan, serta memberikan dampak ekonomi positif bagi komunitas lokal.

Abstract

Bandros Braga Mystery is a ghost tour conducted on Thursday night. The tour walks along an abandoned old building with dark history. This research aimed to analyse tourist experience storytelling as the main component. This is a qualitative research using observation, interview and documentation as well as literature study. Observation was conducted by becoming the tourists. Interview used semi-structured technique and purposive sampling as the base of selecting informants. Documentation was conducted by taking pictures and literature study was conducted by reading related articles and websites references of this article. The result showed that storytelling can make tourists imagine past events in the location.  Tourists are emotionally connected to the story by feeling sad and terrified during the storytelling. Story about ghosts provides creepy feeling, although sometimes it is not well organized. Scary and tense are felt, supported by dark and cold as well as the remains and relics.

Abstract

This study uses quantitative research that aims to determine the effect of the work environment on employee loyalty through work motivation at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. The population in this study amounted to 43 people from all employees in the Front Office department at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort. The sample taken for this study used nonprobability sampling with saturated sampling techniques. The data collection technique used was a questionnaire measured using a Likert scale. The data analysis technique used path analysis with the help of the Statistical Package for The Social Science (SPSS) version 25 program. The results of the study indicate that (1) The work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee work motivation at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, (2) The work environment has a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, (3) Work motivation has a positive and significant effect on employee loyalty at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort, and (4) The work environment has a significant effect on employee loyalty through work motivation or work motivation mediates the effect of the work environment on employee loyalty.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji peran mediasi asosiasi merek pada pengaruh kesadaran merek dan citra merek terhadap minat beli kopi di Armata Coffee & Tea Bar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksplanatori. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 160 responden yang merupakan konsumen yang pernah berkunjung ke coffee shop. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan secara offline dan dianalisis dengan teknik Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS) menggunakan software SMART-PLS 4.0. Instrumen penelitian diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya melalui uji pilot study terhadap 30 responden. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) kesadaran berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli, (2) citra merek berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli, (3) Kesadaran merek berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli, (4) citra merek berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli, (5) asosiasi merek berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap minat beli, (6) kesadaran merek berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap minat beli melalui asosiasi merek, (7) citra merek berpengaruh positif signifikan terhadap minat beli melalui asosiasi merek. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa semakin tinggi tingkat kesadaran dan citra positif terhadap merek Armata Coffee and Tea Bar, maka semakin besar pula minat beli konsumen. Asosiasi merek berperan penting dalam memperkuat hubungan tersebut, sehingga dapat menjadi strategi yang efektif dalam meningkatkan daya tarik dan keputusan pembelian konsumen.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas peranan telephone operator dalam meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan di Front Office Department Hotel Novotel Lampung. Sebagai garda depan komunikasi, telephone operator tidak hanya bertugas menerima dan mengalihkan panggilan, tetapi juga menyampaikan informasi penting serta layanan tambahan seperti wake-up call. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa telephone operator berperan penting dalam membentuk persepsi awal tamu terhadap layanan hotel. Namun, masih terdapat kendala seperti keterlambatan merespons panggilan dan kurangnya ketelitian dalam menyampaikan informasi. Pihak manajemen berupaya mengatasinya melalui pelatihan dan evaluasi rutin. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kinerja telephone operator memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas pelayanan hotel, sehingga peningkatan kompetensi dan supervisi terhadap posisi ini sangat diperlukan.

Abstract

Kemenuh Monkey River is one of tourism destination that located in Sukawati district, Gianyar regency, Bali. It is a nature-based tourism destination rich in biodiversity and cultural heritage. The area is characterized by a pristine river ecosystem, the presence of long-tailed macaques (Macaca fascicularis), and local communities that maintain strong traditional and spiritual practices. However, increasing environmental pressure from tourism development highlights the urgent need for a shift toward sustainable practices through the implementation of green tourism. This study aims to analyze the implementation green tourism at Kemenuh Monkey River through a multidimensional framework encompassing environmental, social, cultural, and economic aspects. And also, to analyse the model of green tourism implementation at Kemenuh Monkey River. This study uses a descriptive qualitative design. Data were collected through observation, interviews, focus group discussions, and literature review. From the research results, it is known that efforts have been made to implement green tourism. The implementation of green tourism is also in line with the local wisdom of the community, Tri Hita Karana. The philosophy includes a harmonious relationship between humans and God (parahyangan), fellow humans (pawongan), and the natural environment (palemahan) which become strong foundation in forming a green tourism model rooted in local wisdom. Environmentally, the area requires integrated waste management and ecological conservation. Socially and culturally, community participation and the preservation of local wisdom are essential to ensure identity-based tourism development. The implementation of green tourism is also outlined in traditional regulations/awig-awig. Economically, green tourism has the potential to enhance local economic growth through employment opportunity, profit sharing to the village, and eco-friendly businesses and community based enterprises. Preliminary findings indicate that Kemenuh Monkey River holds significant potential to serve as a model for green tourism in Bali. Effective implementation requires cross sector collaboration to raise awareness among all stakeholders to implement green tourism in accordance with the tri hita karana philosophy
