Abstract

This community service activity was conducted in Kualu Nenas Village, Tambang Subdistrict, Kampar Regency, to increase residents' knowledge and skills in processing pineapple peel waste into Tepache fermented drink. The activity method consisted of two main stages, namely socialization and Tepache making training, which 30 participants attended. The socialization focused on increasing understanding of the benefits and economic potential of the product. At the same time, the training was conducted directly through Tepache production practices with the assistance of the community service team. Evaluation was carried out through participant satisfaction questionnaires and taste preference tests. The questionnaire results showed that 100% of participants stated that this activity broadened their knowledge, 95% understood the steps for making Tepache well, and 90% stated that they were interested in trying to make Tepache independently. Taste preference tests by 20 panelists showed that 83% of panelists liked the Tepache product with its sweet and sour taste and refreshing pineapple aroma. This activity effectively empowered the community and encouraged the productive, economically valuable, and environmentally friendly management of pineapple peel waste

Abstract

Jayawijaya is one of the regions in the Papua Highlands Province that implements organic farming, but agriculture in this region still employs traditional farming methods, which do not incorporate additional inputs into cultivation techniques. Without additional inputs, soil nutrients are indirectly depleted and depleted. The solution to addressing nutrient deficiencies in the cultivation techniques used in the Jayawijaya region is the addition of organic fertilizer. One such addition is the addition of Local Microorganisms (MOL). The main objective of this community service activity is: 1) The understanding and awareness of the people in Likino village regarding the importance of adding nutrients to the soil and plants through the provision of MOL can be increased; 2) Provide skills to the community about making and utilizing MOL as an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer. The implementation of activities using extension methods to the community. The conclusion of this activity is that the community can understand and be aware of the importance of providing input to plants by providing MOL and the community, especially farmers in Likino village, can become able and skilled in making and applying MOL as an environmentally friendly organic fertilizer.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out by lecturers and students from various departments and faculties of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong through the Mahasiswa Berdampak program, focusing on education and community empowerment in the Aimas area, Sorong Regency, from September to October 2025. The aim of this activity was to improve the knowledge and skills of farmer groups in developing forest plant nurseries and Multi-Purpose Tree Species (MPTS) as an effort to support local economic resilience. The implementation methods included socialization, technical training on seedling media preparation, selection of superior seeds, seedling maintenance, and mentoring in managing community-based nurseries. This activity also encouraged active community participation in creating productive seed sources that can be utilized for both reforestation and income generation. The results showed an increased understanding among farmer groups regarding proper nursery techniques, as well as the emergence of community initiatives to independently develop nursery businesses. Thus, this program provided not only ecological benefits through the supply of plant seedlings but also sustainable economic benefits for the local community. It is expected that this activity will serve as a collaborative model of community service among students, lecturers, and local residents in supporting forestry development based on community economic empowerment in Sorong Regency.

Abstract

Cases of bullying, promiscuity and drug abuse are forms of juvenile delinquency that are currently often occurring. These three cases certainly provide long-term risks that can affect students' psychological, physical, and emotional well, even the most extreme risk is pregnancy and transmission of sexually transmitted diseases. The purpose of this community service activity is to provide insight, knowledge, understanding, and increase the capacity of students in the context of the dangers of bullying, promiscuity, and drug abuse. A training approach based on socialization seminars is used in this community service activity. The community service activity was carried out at SMK Widya Dharma Turen involving 328 students in classes X and XI.  This community service activity is carried out through several methods used, including; (1) seminars; (2) presentation of materials; (3) awareness campaigns; (4) role play; (5) discussion; (6) problem-based learning (PBL), and (7) evaluation of pre-post test-based activities. The results of the pre-test and post-test will be analyzed using the t-test (difference test) assisted by the SPSS 24.0 program. The results of the activity showed an increase in student knowledge as seen from the comparison of pre-test and post-test scores. The average pre-test score of 65.76 increased to 73.81 in the post-test, with an improvement difference of 8.05. These findings show that the training provided is effective in increasing students' understanding and awareness of the negative impacts of bullying, promiscuity, and drug abuse. Thus, this service activity makes a positive contribution to prevention efforts.

Abstract

Archive management in elementary schools is still dominated by manual methods, which pose risks of inefficiency, document loss, and low traceability. This community service activity aims to enhance the competence of School Administrative Staff (TAS) in Elementary Schools (SD) across the Sukun District, Malang City, through the transformation of digital-based archive management. The methods employed included lectures, brainstorming, hands-on practice (learning by doing) using the System Tracking Archive Responsive (STAR) application, simulations, mentoring, as well as pre-test and post-test evaluations via Google Forms. The training spanned a total of 32 lesson hours, involving 70 participants, and commenced with partner coordination, followed by core activities including: material delivery, system development practice, follow-up actions, and the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The results of the community service demonstrated a significant increase in competence: the average score rose from 81.30 (SD 6.86) in the pre-test to 87.56 (SD 8.50) in the post-test, with 38.57% of participants achieving the "excellent" category after the training. Despite encountering challenges related to hardware infrastructure and school readiness, the majority of participants were able to operate the system effectively. It is concluded that archive digitalization strengthens the efficiency, security, and accountability of school administration and is worthy of sustainable adoption, supported by further training and infrastructure investment

Abstract

The modernisation of mosque services represents the application of appropriate technology to support religious activities within the community. Before this program, the management of Masjid Baitul Maqdis in Pekanbaru displayed the prayer schedule manually on an announcement board, which was often not updated promptly. This condition resulted in inaccuracies in providing prayer time information to congregants. Based on this issue, this community service activity aimed to implement and provide training on using a web-based digital prayer schedule display system utilizing Raspberry Pi as the primary control device. The implementation process consisted of several stages, including the preparation stage, the system deployment stage, and the training stage for mosque administrators. Evaluation was conducted through direct observation and interviews with administrators to assess the system’s ease of use and effectiveness. The results showed that through automatic synchronization with a location-based prayer time API service, enabling real-time updates on the mosque display. This community service activity has contributed to enhancing the digital literacy and independence of mosque administrators in managing the system, thereby reducing their reliance on external parties. Furthermore, the activity has positively impacted the mosque’s operational efficiency and the satisfaction of its congregants with digital information services.

Abstract

Persons with disabilities have great potential in the creative economy; however, limited access to technology, training, and digital markets continues to hinder their economic independence. This community service program aims to enhance the production capacity and digital marketing skills of a group of disabled miniature craftsmen in Bintan Regency through creative economy digitalization training. The program was implemented over eight months using a participatory approach and involved 10 persons with disabilities as primary partners. The implementation methods included product standardization workshops, design software training, digital marketing, online business management, standardized production processes, application of product branding technology, as well as mentoring and evaluation to support sustainable craft production. The results indicate significant improvements in participants’ knowledge, skills, and production capacity. Average production knowledge increased by 83.7% based on pre-test and post-test results, while production skills reached an average score of 4 out of 5 based on professional assessment. In addition production capacity increased, and the digital marketing system has been fully prepared for operation, as indicated by the availability of a dedicated marketing website, active e-commerce accounts, a product logo, and official trademark registration with the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DJKI).

Abstract

21st-century education that equips students with 6C skills is a crucial competency that students need to possess in order to compete in the global era. One effective learning approach for training these skills is STEM-Project-Based Learning (STEM-PjBL). Training and community service were conducted at SMAN Plus Sukowono to enhance teachers' competence in implementing STEM-PjBL-based teaching modules through structured training. The activity was conducted using a Community-Based Research (CBR) approach and involved 40 teachers as participants. The activity consisted of four stages: preparation, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The training included an explanation of the basic concepts of STEM-PjBL, an explanation of the teaching modules, and a simulation of the practical learning process of creating the “Da Vinci Bridge” project. The evaluation was conducted through a post-test consisting of 10 questions using Quizizz. The post-test results showed that most participants had a high level of understanding, with the majority of answers being accurate to within 90% or more of the correct answer. However, there was an important finding regarding the gap in understanding, where 80% of participants achieved perfect understanding, while the other 20% still needed reinforcement, especially in terms of conceptual foundations.These findings indicate that the training was effective in improving teachers' understanding of the STEM-PjBL teaching module, although follow-up is still needed to ensure equal competency. This activity is expected to strengthen the implementation of STEM learning in schools and support the development of students' 6C and EDP skills.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to patterns of social interaction and character formation among young generations, including within the madrasah environment. Uncontrolled use of gadgets has the potential to lead to moral degradation, behavioral deviance, and violations of legal and Islamic norms. This community service program aims to provide preventive education based on Islamic criminal law to students of MTsS Darul Ulum Sasa, Ternate City, in order to foster wise and responsible use of gadgets.The implementation methods included interactive counseling sessions and participatory discussions. The materials covered the basic concept of jarimah in Islamic criminal law, the principle of protecting honor (hifz al-‘ird), the protection of intellect (hifz al-‘aql), and their relevance to social media ethics and potential digital offenses such as the dissemination of negative content. The results of the program indicate a significant improvement in students’ understanding of the moral and legal consequences of gadget misuse. Furthermore, there was increased awareness of the importance of upholding Islamic values as guidance in daily digital activities. This program recommends strengthening digital literacy based on Islamic values through collaboration among schools, parents, and higher education institutions to prevent potential legal violations in the digital era

Abstract

Coastal communities that depend on the agricultural and fisheries sectors have significant potential for productive zakat; however, literacy regarding agricultural and fisheries zakat remains low, particularly in understanding nisab, rates, calculation methods, and distribution mechanisms. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to enhance the understanding and awareness of the people of Laromabati Village, North Kayoa District, South Halmahera, regarding agricultural and fisheries zakat in a contextual and practical manner. The method employed was an educative–participatory approach through interactive lectures, discussions, and pre-test and post-test evaluations involving 25 participants consisting of farmers, fishermen, village officials, and community leaders. The results showed an increase in the average score from 4.5 to 7.6, indicating the effectiveness of the educational intervention in improving productive zakat literacy. Qualitative findings revealed that participants were previously only familiar with zakat al-fitr and had limited understanding of the technical aspects of agricultural and fisheries zakat, particularly in terms of calculation and distribution management. The program recommends follow-up mentoring activities that are more practical in nature, as well as strengthening village-based zakat institutions to support the sustainable implementation of productive zakat practices.
