Abstract

Accuracy in calculating the cost of production is a key factor in determining selling prices, ensuring that locally produced goods can compete with imported products. The most suitable method to apply is job order costing, which is a production cost calculation method based on specific orders. This method is particularly appropriate for companies that manufacture goods according to special requests or customer specifications. Indonesia’s fashion industry continues to grow every year, contributing an export value of up to USD 16.5 billion in 2022. The production of dresses and kebaya, which is generally order-based, also faces challenges in determining production costs, particularly in the calculation of manufacturing expenses. Accurate production cost calculation directly influences selling prices, revenue, and business profits, and on a macro scale also contributes to export value. Therefore, an educational program on production costs using the job order costing approach was conducted for the dress and kebaya tailoring community in Ringinpitu, Tulungagung. Initial findings indicated that the community had not included overhead costs (such as electricity, rent, and machine maintenance) in their calculation of production costs. The educational activities covered an understanding of the basic concepts of job order costing, hands-on practice in cost calculation using order cards, and techniques for determining product selling prices. The results showed a significant improvement in participants understanding after the educational sessions, the increase is approximately 56%. This was evidenced by the paired sample t-test, which demonstrated a difference between the pretest score (mean = 59.00) and the posttest score (mean = 92.00) with a significance level of α = 0.000.

Abstract

Seaweed processing in the coastal community of Lambakara Village, located in the Pahunga Lodu District, mainly focuses on producing dried seaweed, which serves as a raw material for chips. However, one significant challenge these communities face is the rejection of dried seaweed by companies due to physical defects and inadequate drying. As a result, much of the rejected seaweed remains unused, leading to both economic and environmental inefficiencies. To address this issue, initiatives for technology transfer are essential to enhance the community's knowledge and skills in diversifying seaweed into value-added food products, such as brownies and bread. Training and mentoring activities, conducted using the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) approach, have emphasized inclusive and community-driven Development. Evaluation results show a notable increase in community empowerment following these training and mentoring sessions. This is evident in the community's ability to independently create seaweed-based brownies and bread, as well as their proficiency in conducting business analysis and feasibility assessments on their own. To ensure the sustainability of community empowerment in Lambakara Village, a collaborative partnership model involving academia, business, and government (ABG) has been proposed. This partnership aims to position the coastal community as a hub for science and technology transfer, thereby contributing to economic improvement and poverty alleviation.

Abstract

One of the social conflicts that often occurs within families is the dispute over the distribution of inheritance. Many cases have resulted in damaged family relationships due to inheritance issues. In various regions, including Ciseeng, Bogor Regency, many people still lack understanding of the rules for inheritance distribution according to Islamic law. Therefore, the community service team from YARSI University carried out a counseling program entitled "Education on Islamic Inheritance Law as an Effort to Build Harmonious Families and Communities for the Residents of Ciseeng, Bogor Regency." This program aimed to help the people of Ciseeng Village understand inheritance law based on Islamic sharia, so that inheritance division does not become a source of family conflict. The activity was attended by 24 participants (4 women and 20 men) aged 33–70 years. The method used was participatory, involving material presentations, interactive discussions, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test using a One Group Pre-Test and Post-Test design. The materials presented included: Introduction to Islamic Inheritance Law, Analysis of Primary Heirs, and Inheritance Application Practice. The data analysis showed a statistically significant improvement (p = 0.024). The mean pre-test score was M = 5.217 and the mean post-test score was M = 5.957 out of a maximum score of 10, indicating a 7.4% increase in participants’ understanding after the educational intervention. In addition, the majority of participants gave positive feedback on the material and implementation of the activity. These results indicate that this community service program effectively improved participants’ understanding of inheritance education according to Islamic sharia. For future programs, it is recommended to extend the duration of material presentation and Q&A sessions to achieve better learning outcomes.

Abstract

Community service carried out at Karsia Manado Private High School (SMAS) aims to improve the quality of education through digital transformation and the application of Augmented Reality (AR) technology. This program focuses on two main aspects: improving teachers' competence in using technology for learning, and implementing a school website that is integrated with the administration and online learning systems. Through training and mentoring, teachers are empowered to create more interactive and effective AR-based learning content, as well as utilize the school website to expand access to learning materials outside of school hours. The results of this program show an increase in teachers' understanding of technology and a more flexible learning process for students. The sustainability of the program is maintained through the development of guide modules that can be used by teachers as a permanent reference, as well as ongoing mentoring to ensure the optimal use of technology. This program contributes to the achievement of sustainable development goals (SDGs), particularly in improving the quality of inclusive and equitable education in North Sulawesi, especially at SMAS Karsia.

Abstract

Coffee is one of the commodities with high economic value and is widely favored by the public. Innovation in coffee processing through the addition of probiotics offers an opportunity to produce functional products that not only have nutritional value but also business potential. This community service activity aims to enhance students’ competence in entrepreneurship based on the innovation of probiotic coffee beverages (Kopi-Pro) by utilizing the Bacillus cereus SN7 consortium as a source of single-cell protein. The implementation methods include socialization, training, mentoring, as well as monitoring and evaluation. Organoleptic tests on the aroma and taste of robusta coffee showed that the treatment with the highest probiotic dosage, 4% (treatment D), received the highest preference score from the panelists. Marketing trials conducted in three PKKMB events resulted in all products being sold out with a total revenue of IDR 1,682,000, supported by a 65% repeat purchase interest rate, indicating a positive consumer response. These results confirm that Kopi-Pro has the potential to be developed as a probiotic-based functional beverage with economic value and can serve as a student entrepreneurship model after graduation.

Abstract

Rumbia Beach in Minahasa Regency has promising tourism potential but faces challenges in financial management and marketing that impact suboptimal local economic contributions. This community service program aims to enhance the capacity of Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) Jaya Desa Rumbia managers in financial literacy, digital marketing management, and English communication to revitalize the tourism economy. The implementation method encompasses six stages: proposal development, socialization through FGD, training with pre-test and post-test evaluation, digital technology implementation, intensive mentoring for three months, and establishment of business groups for program sustainability. The program involved Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) managers with three main training components. Results demonstrate substantial improvements in financial literacy with the implementation of Kledo application that enhanced financial recording accuracy; digital marketing management experienced substantial improvement with the launch of website and social media that drove increased tourist visits; English proficiency improved with high satisfaction levels among foreign tourists. International tourist visits increased by 31,7 following the program. Recommendations include: continuous training with higher frequency, consistent digital content development, periodic refresher training programs, English club establishment, and replication of the intervention model to similar tourism destinations to maximize the economic impact of community-based tourism. This program successfully created transformation in tourism destination management that is more professional and sustainable.

Abstract

The utilization of digital technology in mathematics learning is very important to improve the quality of the learning process. This service activity aims to introduce and implement Mathexia.org, a digital question bank website, for he Senior High School Mathematics Teacher Forum (MGMP) of Pelalawan Regency. This platform allows teachers to input questions and materials, access question banks between schools, and organize token and time-based exams. Students can access materials, take exams, view results, and review questions for further study. Implementation methods included teacher training and the use of a student questionnaire with a four-point Likert scale, which was analyzed descriptively quantitatively. Results from 140 students showed positive improvements in learning motivation, digital literacy, and effectiveness of material comprehension after using Mathexia.org. This activity proves that this website can be an innovative solution in supporting more modern math learning in Kabupaten Pelalawan.

Abstract

Qualified human resources can develop the necessary knowledge and skills, thereby enhancing a company's competitive position in the industry. With a total of 35 participants, comprising Accelist employees at various levels within the organization, ranging from staff to managerial levels, the community service was organized as an online seminar format. The seminar commenced with presentations of academic material by Management faculty members. For quantitative measures, the community service concluded with a feedback survey to gather participants’ perceptions on the effectiveness of the activity.  The individual lecturer’s average score of over three, based on a scale of 1 – 4, reflected participants’ positive perceptions and indicated an overall effectiveness of the community service in meeting their requirements. In addition to providing a complete documentation of the community service, this article was intended to inspire and provide guidance for industry workers to develop valuable legacy and apply working with impact. The community services presented illustrate the value of university-industry collaborations, particularly in the field of human resource development.

Abstract

The integration of technology in education plays a crucial role in enhancing teachers’ competence and improving educational quality in the digital era. However, teachers at SMK Darel Hikmah Pekanbaru have not yet fully optimized technology integration in their teaching practices. This community service project aimed to enhance teachers’ competence through training on the use of Kahoot and Spinner as interactive, gamified learning tools. The one-day training employed tutorials, discussions, and hands-on activities involving 20 teachers. Evaluation using a Likert-scale questionnaire revealed that 95% of participants understood Kahoot and 90% felt confident applying Spinner in their classrooms. The program effectively improved teachers’ understanding and skills in implementing innovative and engaging technology-based teaching methods.

Abstract

Training for teachers in TK Ar Rohmah Karangjuwet Malang have some purpose in introducing animation game for children for education teaching, introducing how to play the application game education that built for TK Ar Rohmah Karangjuwet. Animation in game in this training for knowledge about application already build by our team with curriculum about surrounding environmental at school TK Ar Rohmah Karangjuwet in Malang. Animation in this training is displayed animation for objects in indoor or outdoor and child character try to find correct objects for get points in game application. This application including education for children and try to make help children more easy in learn about curriculum sub theme around environment. Animation in this training is built with Contruct in web based with design of objects use Inkscape application by team. In this application game there are two level, first about indoor lesson and next level for outdoor lesson as secondly level in animation game application. In this application has character as equipped for interactive game animation as child character where find objects in each level and the result is get point influenced with time and correct answer in finished animation game education point and can be access in web.
