Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of the Qur'an as a source of inspiration in the scientific and technological advancement of medieval Islamic civilization through the study of the literature contributed by Muslim scientists in the golden era. The research method uses a qualitative approach with a literature study technique that analyzes the academic literature for the 2020-2025 period through inductive and comparative thematic analysis. The main findings of this study show that the integration of the kauniyyah verses of the Qur'an, Islamic scientific epistemology, and the heritage of Muslim scientists forms a holistic science paradigm, ethical, and relevant for the development of contemporary science and technology. The results of the study show that the Qur'an plays an important role as a source of inspiration in the development of science by combining observation of nature, rational thinking, and spiritual values. The study of kauniyyah verses shows that they encourage the birth of a comprehensive scientific way of thinking, as seen in the works of Muslim scholars such as Al-Khawarizmi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Razi. The study also found that references to the Qur'an were related to the rise of creativity and scientific innovation during the heyday of Islam. The model developed shows that the combination of spiritual values and scientific approaches results in a scientific tradition that is not only scientifically advanced, but also ethical and relevant to the development of science in the modern era.

Abstract

Islamic Religious Education is an important aspect of the education system. Some Islamic Religious Education teachers are not yet familiar with software that can be used in the teaching and learning process. The learning process still uses conventional learning methods. Therefore, research needs to be conducted to identify software that can be used as an alternative. One software that can be used is Powtoon. Powtoon software can be developed in the form of animated videos containing Islamic Religious Education learning materials. This research uses a 3D model, which consists of the Define, Design, and Development stages. The subjects used in this study were Islamic Religious Education teachers and 5th grade elementary school students. The results showed that the material expert assessment was 94% in the very feasible category. Meanwhile, the media expert assessment showed a score of 81.4% in the very feasible category, and the peer review test showed a score of 91.8% in the very feasible category as well. This shows that the use of Powtoon software can be an alternative for teachers in developing learning media that is interesting for students. In addition, it can help students overcome boredom in learning. The conclusion of this study is that Powtoon software can be utilized by teachers and students in PAI learning.

Abstract

This study examines Islamic educational values embedded in poetry and explores their potential as pedagogical resources for character education. While poetry has often been viewed as an expressive literary form, its educational dimension, particularly within the framework of Islamic education, remains underexplored. This research aims to identify and analyze core Islamic educational values reflected in selected poems and to explain how these values can contribute to character formation. Employing a qualitative library research design, the study uses descriptive-analytical methods to examine poetic texts through the lens of Islamic educational theory. Islamic values in this study are conceptualized as principles related to faith, morality, worship, self-discipline, and social responsibility, which are analyzed through thematic interpretation of poetic language and symbolism. The findings indicate that poetry effectively conveys Islamic educational values in an implicit yet meaningful manner, enabling readers to internalize moral and spiritual teachings through aesthetic experience. Poetry functions not only as a literary artifact but also as a pedagogical medium that integrates cognitive, affective, and spiritual dimensions of learning. This study contributes to the discourse on Islamic education by highlighting poetry as an alternative pedagogical resource for character education that remains relevant in contemporary educational contexts.

Abstract

Despite the continued development of Islamic education, the internalization and practical understanding of Islamic educational values among learners have not always progressed in a balanced manner. This condition indicates a gap between educational advancement and value-based character formation. This study aims to conceptually examine the Islamic educational values embedded in the attitude of qona’ah and to clarify its relevance to character education within Islamic educational contexts. The research employs a qualitative library research method, drawing on classical and contemporary sources in Islamic education, ethics, and spirituality. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-analytical approach to identify key conceptual themes related to qona’ah as an educational value. The findings reveal that qona’ah represents an integrative value encompassing faith (aqidah), moral conduct (akhlaq), and normative guidance (shari‘ah), which together shape attitudes of simplicity, gratitude, reliance on Allah (tawakkal), self-control, and responsible engagement with material life. Conceptually, qona’ah functions as a foundation for developing balanced individuals who are able to harmonize spiritual consciousness with social and material responsibilities. This study contributes to Islamic educational discourse by offering a coherent conceptual framework that positions qona’ah as a strategic value for character education, thereby reinforcing the integration of spiritual objectives and educational practice in Islamic education.

Abstract

This conceptual analysis addresses the challenges in Islamic Religious Education learning outcomes amid the digital era transition, where conventional media like face-to-face lectures and printed books struggle with passive engagement, while digital tools such as interactive videos and online platforms enhance interactivity but risk distractions and motivational decline. The objective is to compare these media through the lens of Skinner's behaviorism theory and Islamic education principles to propose an integrative hybrid model for holistic improvement. Employing a qualitative conceptual approach via library research and thematic synthesis of primary sources like Skinner's works and Quranic texts alongside secondary literature from 2010-2025, the study reveals that digital media boosts cognitive and behavioral outcomes by up to 40% through multimodal stimuli and variable reinforcement, complemented by Islamic principles like tawhid for intrinsic motivation, reducing disengagement by 30-45%. The hybrid model, blending 60% digital reinforcement with 40% conventional reflection, yields a projected 50% holistic gain across cognitive, affective, and psychomotor domains. In conclusion, this integration fosters resilient spiritual-behavioral development, urging educators to adopt adaptive strategies for inclusive Islamic education.

Abstract

Social media has become an integral part of students' lives and has a significant influence on social interaction patterns and the formation of religious character. This study aims to analyze the implications of social media on social moderation in the formation of students' religious character. The research method used is library research with a contextual analysis approach. (Contextual analysis) is used to understand the phenomenon of social media by considering the social, cultural, educational, and religious backgrounds of students as described in various scientific sources. Data collection was carried out through searching and selecting library sources in the form of books, national and international journal articles, previous research results, and educational policy documents relevant to the themes of social media, social moderation, and religious character education. The collected data was analyzed through the stages of theme classification, data reduction, contextual interpretation, and critical conclusion drawing. The results of the study show that social media has dual implications in shaping the religious character of students. Social media can serve as a means of internalizing moderate, tolerant, and inclusive religious values, but it also has the potential to give rise to intolerant and exclusive attitudes if not balanced with adequate digital literacy and guidance. Therefore, strengthening media literacy and integrating social moderation values into religious character education are strategic steps that need to be implemented in the educational environment.

Abstract

Curriculum management in pesantren based higher education requires an approach that is not only managerially effective but also aligned with the fundamental aims of Islamic education, particularly the formation of faithful, knowledgeable, and well-mannered individuals (ta’dīb). This study critically examines the application of the lean concept in curriculum management within pesantren based higher education by positioning Islamic educational values as the primary analytical framework. Lean principles such as value stream mapping, waste reduction, and continuous improvement are not adopted mechanistically; instead, they are critically reinterpreted and adapted to correspond with Islamic values, pesantren traditions, and moral educational objectives. In this context, “value” is not defined merely in terms of customer satisfaction, but as educational benefit (maṣlaḥah) encompassing spiritual development, intellectual integrity, and the social relevance of graduates. This study employs a qualitative approach through literature review and conceptual analysis to explore the intersection between lean-based modern management and the philosophical foundations of pesantren education. The findings indicate that the lean concept can enhance the effectiveness and quality of pesantren curricula when it is reoriented from market-driven efficiency toward strengthening ta’dīb, ensuring sustainable learning processes, and reinforcing the moral responsibility of Islamic educational institutions. This study affirms that integrating modern management frameworks with pesantren values enables curriculum development that is both efficient and distinctly Islamic, thereby contributing to contemporary scholarship in Islamic educational management.

Abstract

In Islamic educational contexts such as Rumah Qur’an, Arabic vocabulary learning is not merely a linguistic objective but an educational means for fostering meaningful engagement with the Qur’an and Islamic knowledge. As the language of revelation, Arabic is expected to support learners’ comprehension, affective readiness, and disciplined participation in Qur’anic learning. However, in Indonesia, Arabic is not learners’ mother tongue, and instruction in non-formal Qur’anic institutions often relies on memorisation-oriented practices, resulting in limited understanding and low learner engagement. This study investigates the effectiveness of a singing-based instructional method in supporting Qur’anic-oriented Arabic vocabulary learning among primary school students at Rumah Qur’an GIAT. Employing a quantitative pre-experimental one-group pre-test–post-test design, six learners participated in a twelve-session intervention in which selected Arabic vocabulary was taught through structured songs integrated with guided repetition and collective participation. Data were collected through tests and observations and analysed using normalised gain (N-gain).The results indicate a substantial improvement in learners’ vocabulary mastery, with the mean score increasing from 0 in the pre-test to 86.04 in the post-test (N-gain = 0.86, high category). Observational findings further reveal increased enthusiasm, active participation, reduced learning anxiety, and sustained attendance. From an Islamic educational perspective, these findings suggest that singing functions as a pedagogical wasilah that supports cognitive achievement alongside affective readiness and meaningful engagement with Arabic as the language of the Qur’an. The study concludes that effectiveness in Rumah Qur’an instruction should be understood in relation to holistic Islamic educational goals rather than linguistic outcomes alone.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of educational quality control in Islamic schools outside the Ministry of Education and Culture (non-Kemendikbud) by integrating spirituality and professionalism as foundational pillars. Employing a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical library research design, this study examines academic books, peer-reviewed journal articles, policy documents, and relevant previous studies related to quality management and Islamic education. The findings indicate that effective quality control in Islamic non-Kemendikbud schools is achieved through the integration of Islamic spirituality manifested in values such as sincerity (ikhlāṣ), trustworthiness (amānah), and moral responsibility with teacher professionalism encompassing pedagogical, social, and managerial competencies. This integration fosters a quality assurance system characterized by ethical commitment, participatory culture, and continuous improvement. Pedagogically, the model emphasizes the alignment of moral values with professional standards, ensuring that quality enhancement extends beyond academic achievement to encompass character formation and institutional integrity. This study contributes theoretically by offering a conceptual framework for spirituality based quality control and practically by providing a relevant paradigm for strengthening the governance and competitiveness of contemporary Islamic educational institutions.
