Abstract

The high prevalence of bullying in Indonesian schools indicates the urgency to take more serious action in addressing this issue. Bullying has a very damaging impact on students' psychological, emotional, and academic development. The study aims to describe and analyze the role of Islamic Religious Education teachers in building a school culture free from bullying through the implementation of character education based on Islamic teachings. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a literature study method. Data collection techniques were carried out by searching documents (library documentation). Data analysis was done using reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. This research shows that a bullying-free school culture is highly dependent on character education that is consistently instilled. PAI teachers have a strategic role in shaping students' character through teaching Islamic values such as compassion, justice, and mutual respect. These values are not only taught theoretically, but also realized through exemplary, experiential learning and collaborative activities such as discussion, role-play, and group learning. PAI teachers not only act as educators but also as drivers of change who are able to create a positive school culture that is free from bullying behavior.

Abstract

This study discusses applying the PAIKEM method (Active, Innovative, Creative, Effective, and Fun) in learning in the digital era. This study aims to determine how PAIKEM can increase student enthusiasm in learning and make the learning process more interesting and meaningful. This study uses a literature review method, reviewing various sources such as books and scientific articles. The study results indicate that using technology in PAIKEM can help students become more active, creative, and better understand the subject matter. However, challenges include limited technological facilities and teachers' ability to use digital learning media. Therefore, teacher training and creativity enhancement must ensure that PAIKEM can optimally implement in the digital era. Proper implementation will make learning more enjoyable, and learning objectives can be achieved more effectively. This study can serve as a reference for improving student interaction and creativity in Islamic education teaching by the terms inherent in the acronym PAIKEM.

Abstract

Cases of religious intolerance in the education sector in Indonesia are still common. Tosari District has a diverse religious population, but it is known that religious conflicts rarely occur, especially in the field of education, where massive social interaction can foster harmony between religious communities. This study aims to explain and compare religious tolerance values based on social interaction at State Junior High Schools (SMPN) 1 and 3 in Tosari District, Pasuruan Regency. The researcher selected these two educational institutions due to their differing religious compositions. SMPN 1 Tosari has the highest number of Hindu students, while SMPN 3 Tosari is predominantly Muslim. This study employs a qualitative approach with a multiple case study design. The findings reveal three religious tolerance values in both institutions: mutual respect, social concern, and solidarity. These values emerge based on different patterns of social interaction. The study recommends strengthening religious tolerance values in junior high schools in general.

Abstract

Many students set high standards for themselves such as having a high GPA and perfect grades in lectures. This triggers the emergence of perfectionism in themselves so that it can become excessive pressure that affects students' mental health. This study aims to investigate the effect of academic perfectionism and religious perfectionism on the mental health of PAI students in Kerinci State Islamic Institute both individually and simultaneously. The method used in this research is quantitative by using multiple regression analysis techniques with a sample of PAI students in Kerinci State Islamic Institute. The results showed that there was no effect of academic perfectionism on the mental health of PAI students and there was no effect of religious perfectionism on the mental health of PAI students. Simultaneously, academic perfectionism and religious perfectionism did not affect the mental health of PAI students. However, this study found a relationship between academic perfectionism and religious perfectionism. This suggests that other factors may play a greater role in influencing the mental health of PAI students at Kerinci State Islamic Institute.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of humanistic principles in the teaching of the Qur'an for adult learners. Adopting a qualitative research approach, the study aims to understand how humanistic theories, such as those proposed by Maslow and Rogers, are applied within the context of Qur'anic education and how they influence the personal and spiritual development of adult learners. The subjects of this study were 20 adult learners from several institutions and 5 educators from local Islamic education institutions. Data collection methods included semi-structured interviews, observations, and documentation analysis, with a focus on capturing the lived experiences of participants and the dynamics of the learning process. Triangulation of data and member checking will be employed to ensure validity and credibility of the findings. The study found that applying humanistic education in Qur'anic learning enhanced adult learners' engagement, reflection, and personal connection to the text. It fostered deeper, more meaningful learning by prioritizing personal growth and relevance to daily life. This research shows that humanistic principles can enrich Qur'anic education, offering a transformative model that supports adult learners' spiritual and personal development in modern contexts.

Abstract

The increasing application of artificial intelligence (AI) in academic activities, including the study of Islamic materials, raises important questions about its impact on students' Islamic thinking. This study aims to determine the extent to which AI influences Islamic thinking among students of the Islamic Education Study Program at Universitas Islam Zainul Hasan Genggong. This study involved 83 students from the 2021 cohort. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) via the SmartPLS application. The results indicate that the use of AI positively and significantly influences students' Islamic thinking, as evidenced by a path coefficient of 0.810, a t-value of 20.654, and a p-value of 0.000. The R-square value of 0.656 indicates a moderate contribution of AI to Islamic thinking, while the F-square value of 1.905 reflects a strong influence. These findings can serve as a reference for educators in developing learning strategies that maintain a critical approach to Islamic studies amid the widespread use of AI. Additionally, this study is expected to enhance students' awareness of using AI as an academic tool while acknowledging the importance of primary Islamic sources in understanding Islamic teachings.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of the essence, principles, and objectives of education in the era of Freedom to Learn by integrating Islamic values and Islamic educational management. The concept of freedom to learn in Indonesia is known as merdeka belajar. This study was motivated by a paradigm shift in Indonesia's national education policy that emphasizes autonomy, contextual learning, and character development. Through a qualitative literature analysis approach, this study investigates the relevance and application of fundamental Islamic educational values such as adab (ethics), ikhlas (sincerity), and amanah (trustworthiness) in supporting the merdeka belajar philosophy. The results of the study indicate that these values are highly aligned with policy objectives and contribute to the formation of a more holistic and meaningful educational environment. Furthermore, the integration of Islamic educational management practices supports the development of spirituality, competencies, and independent thinking among students. This study contributes to the discourse on Islamic educational reform by providing a conceptual framework that can guide educators and policymakers in designing learning systems rooted in spirituality and responsive to context in the modern educational landscape.

Abstract

Learning hadith in schools is often theoretical and only focuses on memorizing texts, making it difficult for students to understand the values of hadith. This study aims to analyze the application of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teaching through contextual learning or Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) on hadith material in class, and how classroom learning can be applied in everyday life. The research method used is a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data collection techniques are carried out by collecting, reviewing, and analyzing various sources of literature that are relevant to the research topic. The data that has been collected will be analyzed using content analysis techniques with the steps of selecting data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that contextual learning is effective in improving students' understanding of hadith and encouraging students to apply the teachings of hadith in social interactions in and outside the classroom. Through this approach, students are able to understand the text of hadith theoretically and practically. This paper develops a conceptual framework from previous studies on the implementation of a contextual approach in Islamic education. And offers a recommendation for educators to optimize the effectiveness of the learning process. Thus, this study contributes to improving the quality of Islamic education in terms of affective, social, and cognitive.
