Abstract

Writing in the context of EFL has been viewed as a challenging task, for students are required to compose their text structurally and accurately. The recent research aims at investigating how the burger-shaped graphic organizer (GO) assisted students in developing their awareness of recount text pattern, and how its teaching was reflected. The recent research employed action research. The participants consisted of 20 students in the second grade of junior high school. The data were collected using a test, interview, and observation. The data were then analyzed using the following steps: data reduction, display, and verification. The findings signified that, first, to develop students’ awareness of recount text patterns, the teacher can incorporate genre analysis and use the burger-shaped GO as the supplementary resource to assist students’ awareness of recount text pattern. Second, the students gave positive feedback on the use of the burger -shaped GO in their writing class, so that the teacher might consider using it in teaching another genre. Further studies is highly suggested for detailed investigation of how the burger-shaped GO might enhance students’ critical thinking

Abstract

Protection for good workers is increasingly real, this is aimed at increasing the standard of living for a better life. In applications in industrial society, it is hoped that it will be able to provide a balance between the tools used and their impacts. The standing work attitude of workers is always moving to always adjust to the condition of the body. This condition is to avoid constant pressure on their spine and legs. Incompatibility of body conditions This will impede blood flow due to accumulation of blood under the body. This study uses an associative explanatory quantitative method used in this type of research. The quantitative method can also be said to be a research method in which its application starts from the collection, analysis, presentation and conclusions related to quantitative data. The results of this study prove that one researcher with another has the opposite conclusion, so the researcher wants to try to retest the model that affects work fatigue. There is a relationship between standing work attitude towards work fatigue and standing work attitude has a positive effect on work fatigue so that it has implications for increasing musculoskeletal complaints with standing work attitude also increasing the level of work fatigue.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether or not there is a difference in learning achievement between students who are taught using a direct teaching model assisted by cardboard media and ICT media on flat sided geometric material. While the research method used is quantitative and comparative research because the data obtained is in the form of numbers from the test results and from the test results the difference can be seen. The population in the study were all fifth grade students at SD Plus Nurul Hikmah Pamekasan. Researchers used a purposive random sampling technique in determining the research sample. Class VA as the control class as many as 21 students and class VD as the experimental class as many as 23 students. The data collection technique used is a test in the form of essay questions. While the data analysis technique used is the t-test. Based on the results of data analysis, the value of tcount = 1.92 and ttable = 2.021 with dk = (23+21-2) = 42 at a significant level of 5%. Thus tcount < ttable means that H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. So it can be concluded that there is no difference in learning achievement between students who are taught using a direct teaching model assisted by cardboard media and ICT media on flat sided geometric material.

Abstract

Smartphone is a new media in today's communication process. Not only used as a communication process, but smartphones are also able to help almost all the needs of human life. This study aims to determine what effect smartphone use has on affective, conative, and cognitive communication behavior in college students. Research conducted using descriptive quantitative research methods. This research was conducted at the Islamic University of Kalimantan MAB. The population is 311 students. The research sample was determined using the Slovin formula, a sample of 76 respondents was obtained. Data was collected using a questionnaire, the data collected was then presented in the form of a frequency table. The analysis technique used is simple linear regression analysis and t test. The results showed that there was an influence between the use of smartphones on student communication behavior. The tcount value is 3.211 and the ttable is 1.901, because tcount> ttable so Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. In other words, reject the null hypothesis (Ho) and accept the alternative hypothesis (Ha) for testing the two variables. Meanwhile, the use of smartphones makes an effective contribution to student communication behavior by 45.8%. The cultivation theory initiated by George Gerbner has proven that mass media (smartphones) are able to influence audiences, one equates what is seen on television with something that is commonly done in the real world..

Abstract

The Regional Government has an obligation to provide food or rice for the community. One of the efforts to provide food or rice for the community is through increasing rice productivity. In Simpang Hilir District, rice productivity is still around 24.03-25.68 ku/ha. This study uses Edward III's Theory to make it easier to identify the determinants of policy implementation implemented by the Agriculture and Food Service (Dispangan) to increase rice productivity, namely: communication, resources, disposition and bureaucratic structure. This qualitative research uses descriptive data analysis by determining data sources through a purposive method. Data sources consist of primary data with 12 participants and 4 triangulation participants as well as secondary data in the form of data from Dispangan, literature and relevant previous research results. Primary data collection techniques through interviews were analyzed using the open code 4.03 application. The results of the research in the implementation of policies to increase rice productivity in Simpang Hilir Sub-District involved many parties, namely the Agriculture and Food Service, related regional apparatus organizations, fertilizer distributors and farmer groups, so that coordination is needed; the complexity of policies to increase rice productivity so that it requires consensus to achieve goals more easily; the limited authority of Dispangan in providing resources so that cooperation with the related OPD is required; and the tendency of farmers not to follow the instructions for rice cultivation technology so that rice productivity is not optimal.
