Abstract

21st-century education demands learning strategies that are able to adapt to the needs and characteristics of individual students. Personalized learning is one relevant approach because it is designed based on students' interests, abilities, and learning styles. This approach is in line with constructivism theory which emphasizes the active role of students in building knowledge through meaningful learning experiences. Motivation and learning independence are two important aspects that can be improved through the implementation of personalized learning. This study aims to determine the effect of personalized learning on the motivation and learning independence of class XI F4 students at SMAN 1 Jambi City. This study uses a quantitative approach with an experimental method and a Pre-Experimental One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research sample was 36 students selected through purposive sampling technique from a population of 143 class XI students. The instruments used were pretest and posttest questionnaires to measure motivation and learning independence. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Paired Sample T-Test. The results showed that personalized learning has a positive and significant effect on students' motivation and learning independence, with a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). However, the N-Gain test results indicated a low level of learning effectiveness, due to the short duration of the intervention and its early implementation. Nevertheless, personalized learning still shows potential for encouraging students to be more motivated and independent. This study recommends the continued implementation of personalized learning with appropriate strategies to optimize overall student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the need to enhance student engagement in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning through the use of technology-based learning media, specifically the Powtoon application. This research aims to describe the process and impact of using Powtoon on students' critical thinking, collaboration, and communication skills. The study employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a case study method, with eighth-grade students from a public junior high school as participants. Data were collected through direct observation during the learning process, in-depth interviews with students and teachers, and document analysis of students' work and projects. Data analysis was conducted through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to identify the main themes that emerged. The results show that the implementation of Powtoon encourages students to be more active in asking questions, exploring material, and expressing opinions. Collaborative activities increased as students engaged in designing animations together, while oral communication skills developed through presenting their work in front of the class. Both teachers and students also reported that the use of this media made PAI learning more engaging, interactive, and relevant to everyday life. These findings affirm that Powtoon can be an innovative and effective medium for teaching PAI, particularly in developing 21st-century skills. This study recommends integrating similar animation media into PAI teaching strategies to enhance the quality of the learning process and improve students' learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the process of internalizing Asmaul Husna values in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning as a strategy for character development among students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Nurun Najah, Buleleng Regency, Bali. The background of this research stems from a moral crisis among elementary school students, characterized by declining empathy, discipline, and social responsibility. The study employs a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving the school principal, Islamic education teachers, students, and parents as informants. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the internalization of Asmaul Husna is carried out through daily routines, teacher role-modeling, and religious activities such as congregational prayer and almsgiving. Values such as Ar-Rahman (the Most Merciful), Al-Adl (the Just), and Al-Ghaffar (the Forgiving) are not only understood but are also reflected in students’ daily behavior, including helping others, forgiving, and showing empathy. In addition, parents observed positive changes in their children's attitudes at home. This study affirms that a religious, contextual, and applicable approach in Islamic Religious Education effectively shapes students’ character to be religious, honest, disciplined, and responsible. The internalization of Asmaul Husna has proven to be an effective strategy for instilling moral and spiritual values from an early age.

Abstract

Indonesia's low literacy scores in PISA 2022 (359 points) necessitate Islamic philanthropy institutions' strategic involvement in building sustainable literacy ecosystems. This study aims to analyze Dompet Dhuafa DIY's Islamic philanthropy strategies in developing literacy and educational human resources through the Indonesia Literacy School Program (SLI), and evaluate program sustainability models through ASPIRASI. A qualitative descriptive research method was employed through in-depth interviews with DD DIY managers, program documentation analysis, and indirect observation. Data were analyzed using Miles & Huberman model with source triangulation. Results show that SLI successfully established literacy ecosystems in 12 partner schools through teacher empowerment strategies, resulting in collaborative book publications by 25 teachers and ASPIRASI formation as sustainability platform. The program transformed teachers from knowledge consumers to literacy knowledge producers. The study concludes that SLI success depends on synergy between Islamic philanthropy, teacher empowerment, and community strengthening through ASPIRASI social networks ensuring long-term program impact sustainability

Abstract

Islamic higher education plays a crucial role in formulating the ideal character education concept for its graduates. Universities not only serve as a place for transferring knowledge but are also responsible for shaping the character of their students. One strategy that can be implemented is the dormitory system. This research, in the context of this study, uses a qualitative approach, a type of field research. The key instrument of this research is the researcher herself. Data collection was carried out through interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis was carried out through reduction, display, and verification. Data validation was carried out using triangulation. Research at Mahad Aly Al Furqon shows that effective character education strategies include: student dormitory placement with support from facilities and funding, the creation of contracts and regulations that are mutually adhered to, the habituation and supervision of positive activities, scientific studies, scientific discussions, community outreach, and entrepreneurial training and practice. As a result, students formed through this program demonstrate positive character traits such as discipline, politeness, respect, clean living, courage, responsibility, independence, caring, helpfulness, perseverance, and tenacity.

Abstract

Access to higher education for people with disabilities remains difficult for various reasons, including the requirement of "physically and mentally healthy" for those wishing to register for the Joint Selection for Entrance to State Universities (SBMPTN). This clearly limits people with disabilities from enrolling in certain study programs. This study aims to analyze the perceptions of students with disabilities regarding continuing higher education at universities and to analyze the demand for students with disabilities to continue their education at universities. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The researcher serves as the key instrument. Data collection methods include in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Data analysis involves data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Data validity is checked through triangulation of sources and methods. The results show that students with disabilities have a positive perception of higher education, but this perception is still general and has not been specifically directed to PTKIN due to the lack of information and visual representation available in the school environment. Student interest in continuing to PTKIN is relatively high, especially for those who are suited to certain majors, but still face uncertainty due to limited information, career guidance, and independent readiness.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is: (1) to know and describe the efforts of student care in improving student life skills; and (2) the implementation of experiential learning in activities carried out by student care in improving life skills; (3) to know and describe the impact of the implementation of the Experiential Learning method in improving life skills. This study is a study that uses a descriptive qualitative approach with observation, interview and documentation methods. In this case, the researcher will describe how the efforts of student care in improving student life skills through the Experiential Learning method. This study found several findings, namely: (1) Efforts of student care in improving life skills are a) providing thematic training, b) holding regular workshops (2) Activities formed by student care to improve student life skills through the Experiential Learning method are a) assignments to become Imam and Khatib for male students, b) assignments to become imams of Yasinan and Tahlil in the surrounding community for female students; (3) The impact of the Experiential Learning method in improving life skills a) improving the ability to communicate well, b) improving expertise in a particular field.

Abstract

Currently there is a worrying character crisis in Indonesia. Facts prove it as news circulating on social media ranging from cases of students hitting teachers, bullying cases and so on. The objectives of this study are: 1) To explore and describe the strengthening of the character of students; 2) To analyze and describe the forms of Hadith learning in shaping the character of students; 3) To analyze and describe the implications of Hadith learning on the formation of the character of students. In this study, a descriptive qualitative research method will be used through a data mining process with stages of direct observation by researchers, interviews with several informants who are related to this study. The results of this study found that 1) Habituation through various activities at school; 2) Hadith Learning. While for Hadith Learning itself, it is done by dividing it into two stages (1) Learning in the classroom including a) Learning the Qur'an Hadith; b) Writing a Diary book with the theme of the Hadith that students have studied; c) A guidebook for memorizing students which is given by separating the theme of the Hadith; (2) Learning Hadith outside the classroom in the form of Muhadharah activities.

Abstract

This study discusses the role of the Youth of Karang Taruna GTC in Krajan Hamlet, Baosan Lor Village, Ponorogo in shaping the religious behavior of the community through religious activities. The results of the study indicate that the Youth of Karang Taruna GTC has played a significant role in increasing the religious awareness of the community, creating a harmonious environment, and developing leadership and social responsibility for youth. The main supporting factors are the active role of administrators and members, as well as community support, while the inhibiting factor is the lack of active role of some members. This study concludes that the Youth of Karang Taruna GTC can be an example for other youth in shaping the religious behavior of the community Youth have played a crucial role in the history of Islamic progress, both as agents of change and as pioneers in various fields. They have demonstrated a high level of enthusiasm and dedication in studying and spreading Islamic teachings, as well as in fighting for freedom and justice. Muslim youth have become exemplary in developing Islamic science, art, and culture, as well as in building a civilized and morally upright society. The research approach is qualitative, a type of field research. The researcher serves as the key instrument, conducting interviews, observations, and documentation. Data analysis involves reduction, display, and verification, and data validity is validated through triangulation.

Abstract

As a result of advancements in telecommunications, transportation, and technology, Indonesian education faces four challenges related to globalisation in the areas of culture, morals, and ethics. The alternative is to create an integrated school that merges traditional and Islamic boarding schools, focusing on academic, religious, and character characteristics with solid cultural reinforcement. This research analyses the concepts, strategies, and implications of integrating Islamic boarding school and public school curricula in forming modern Islamic characters at the Zumrotus Salamah Tawangsari Islamic Boarding School, Tulungagung. This study uses a qualitative approach, a case study type; data collection techniques using in-depth interviews with the Chair of the Foundation, the Headmaster, a sample of 5 teachers, and a sample of 3 students (santri), participant observation during the learning process and documentation of the curriculum structure of the Zumrotus Salamah Islamic Boarding School, participant observation and documentation; data analysis techniques: data presentation, data reduction, and concluding; data checking was carried out through diligent observation and triangulation tests. Research Results: (1) The concept of integrating the curriculum of Islamic boarding schools and public schools in the formation of modern Islamic character by correlating the core (government) curriculum with the pesantren curriculum whose primary reference is from the book of aqidatul awwam and the involvement of education experts and senior humanists; (2) Integration strategy by instilling tafaqquh fid dien (taqwa that does not lose cultural identity), periodic evaluations according to stakeholder needs, integrating a curriculum that has a modern Islamic character, especially in extracurricular activities; (3) The implication of integration is that there is a diametrical relationship between morals and culture, which affects the style of speech and manners of students, school formal wear uses traditional Javanese clothing, extracurricular activities with old Javanese games such as enggrang, dakonan, coblak-coblak suweng, etc. which instill the values of tolerance, togetherness, growing mutual trust (honesty), justice and patience according to QS.
