Abstract

This research investigates how ritatoon media rooted in local wisdom influences the linguistic expression capabilities of 5-6 year old children at TKIT Pelita Dektora Bagan Pete, located in Alam Barajo District, Jambi City. The methodology employed was a quantitative experimental design using Pre-Experimental approach through One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. Fourteen children from class B1, aged 5-6 years, participated as research subjects. Data collection was conducted via observational methods utilizing checklist instruments to evaluate children's linguistic expression competencies. Findings revealed a substantial impact of ritatoon media on enhancing children's language expression skills. Statistical analysis demonstrated t-calculated (24.213) exceeded t-table (2.160) with significance level 0.000 < 0.05, confirming H0 rejection and H1 acceptance. Cohen's formula for effect size yielded 4.21, indicating a robust influence. Pre-intervention mean scores reached 7.36, while post-intervention scores achieved 16.57, demonstrating an improvement of 9.21 points. The study establishes that ritatoon media incorporating local wisdom elements successfully enhances linguistic expression abilities among 5-6 year old children.

Abstract

Animated videos are one of the means to optimize effective sexuality knowledge for kindergarten children. This study aims to determine the effect of using animated videos on the sexuality knowledge of children aged 5-6 years at TKIT Pelita Doktora. This type of research is quantitative research using experimental methods. The design used is pre-experimental design with a one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study was 16 children at TKIT Pelita Doktora. The sampling technique used was total sampling. The instrument used was an observation sheet. The data analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test and hypothesis test. The results of the study prove that the t count value, which is 31.833 t count> t table 2.131, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted. It is concluded that variable X has an effect on variable Y. With a strong interpretation with a value of 7.40 which is in the range> 1.00 with a strong interpretation (strong effect). Thus, the use of animated videos can be applied to improve children's sexuality knowledge.

Abstract

This study was motivated by initial observations at TK Al Ikhlas in Singkawang Village, Muara Bulian District, which revealed that the logical thinking abilities of children aged 5-6 years were still relatively low. The children appeared unable to logically sequence objects, arrange patterns, classify items based on color, shape, and size, or draw simple conclusions from their activities. The research employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental design in the form of a One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The study involved 22 children selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected using observation sheets, while data analysis included normality testing, homogeneity testing, and hypothesis testing. The results showed an increase in the average score from 12.77 (total score: 281) in the pre-test to 21 (total score: 462) in the post-test, with a mean difference of 8.23. The hypothesis test produced a t-value of 22.483, which exceeded the t-table value of 2.086 at a significance level of α = 0.05.  Therefore, the outdoor learning method had a significant effect on improving the logical thinking skills of children aged 5-6 years at TK Al Ikhlas and was proven to be an effective learning approach for stimulating cognitive development in early childhood education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the implementation of the mulazamah method as a scholarly tradition in the teaching of Islamic sciences (‘ilm al-shar‘i) at the Tahfidzul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School (PPTQ) Ar-Royyan Pacitan. The mulazamah method, rooted in the classical Islamic scholarly tradition, is a learning system based on close, intensive, and continuous interaction between teacher and student. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that mulazamah is a learning method that emphasizes long-term intensive mentorship between students and their teachers. According to the pesantren leadership, the implementation of this method is not merely a pedagogical choice, but part of a broader strategy to produce a generation that excels in knowledge, character, and leadership. Furthermore, the implications of mulazamah have a direct impact on the students’ deep understanding of Islamic sciences, mastery of the Arabic language, character formation, and the emergence of future scholars with strong leadership capabilities. However, several challenges were identified in the implementation of this method, including limited student time, a shortage of mentors, diverse academic backgrounds among students, a lack of awareness regarding the value of mulazamah, and insufficient supporting facilities.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of student exchange programs in forming and enhancing multicultural values among sports education students. The approach used is qualitative with a case study type. The informants in this study were four sports education students who participated in the Merdeka Student Exchange Program (PMM) from various regions and participated in an exchange program at PGRI Semarang University. Data collection techniques were conducted through in-depth interviews online using Zoom Meeting. The research results show that the student exchange program is effective in fostering understanding of cultural diversity, strengthening tolerance and empathy attitudes, improving adaptation abilities, and strengthening cross-cultural cooperation and communication among sports education students. Students not only understand multicultural values theoretically but also internalize them through real experiences during the program. This experience shapes inclusive, tolerant, and open characters to differences. Thus, it is concluded that this student exchange program is proven effective in forming multicultural values that are important for sports education students in diverse Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of traditional Ketupat War values in character education for students at SMA Negeri 1 Tempilang, Bangka Belitung. Using a qualitative case study approach, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation involving the school principal, teachers, and 11th-grade students. The research findings indicate that values such as cooperation, tolerance, brotherhood, responsibility, and cultural appreciation have been successfully internalized through various activities based on local traditions. The Ketupat War tradition is not only a medium for cultural preservation but also an effective and contextual moral education tool. The role of teachers as facilitators is crucial in incorporating character values into learning, while students demonstrate positive responses and significant changes in social attitudes. Challenges in integrating traditional values, such as the diversity of students' backgrounds, can be addressed through contextual approaches and the use of digital media. This study recommends the implementation of similar approaches in other regions to expand the model of education based on local wisdom that is adaptive to the times.

Abstract

This study investigates the reading difficulties faced by eleventh-grade students at SMA N 1 Indralaya Utara and explores the strategies they use to overcome them. A Mixed-Method approach with a Sequential Explanatory Design was employed. In the first phase, quantitative data were gathered through a reading comprehension test and a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 71 students. The results revealed that the most common challenges were analyzing sentence structure (28%) and understanding vocabulary (26%), followed by interpreting discourse and comprehending texts (23% each). In the second phase, semi-structured interviews with selected students of different reading proficiency levels were conducted to explore these challenges more deeply. Thematic analysis was used to identify key themes such as vocabulary difficulties, syntactic confusion, discourse interpretation, and strategic or external support efforts. The integration of both quantitative and qualitative findings provides a comprehensive understanding of students’ reading comprehension problems and highlights the need for more targeted instructional support in grammar awareness, vocabulary enrichment, and reading strategy training.

Abstract

Bullying is a form of moral deviance that is frequently found at the elementary school level. Although some may consider it a normal occurrence, in reality, this behavior has significant negative impacts on students’ social and psychological development. Bullying can manifest as physical violence, hurtful words, or psychological pressure, usually carried out repeatedly by individuals or groups toward victims perceived as weaker, either physically or socially. Therefore, anti-bullying education needs to be implemented from an early age, one of which can be through Akidah Akhlak (Faith and Morals) learning. This study aims to describe the internalization process of anti-bullying values and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors in Akidah Akhlak learning among second-grade students at MI Hidayatul Mubtadiin Ngudirejo, Jombang. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model. The findings reveal that the internalization of values occurs through teacher role modeling, integration of values into teaching materials, and support from both the school environment and parents. Supporting factors include the active involvement of all school members, while inhibiting factors involve negative influences from outside the school, limited regulations, and students’ underdeveloped emotional regulation skills.

Abstract

  Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) play a strategic role in community economic empowerment through local potential management. This study aims to analyze the strategies implemented by BUMDes Mukti Tama in empowering the economy of Lambur II Village community, identify supporting and hindering factors, and formulate optimization steps. The research method uses a qualitative approach with case study, involving 4 informants selected through purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data collection techniques include non-participant observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model with data source triangulation and member checking for validity. The results show that BUMDes Mukti Tama implements four main strategies: local potential-based through palm oil plantation management and palm oil trading, business diversification with tent rental and people's market, partnership with village government, and participatory approach to the community. Supporting factors include village government support, active participation of some community members, and adequate business facilities. Hindering factors include uneven community involvement, lack of effective socialization, and minimal youth involvement. Recommended optimization steps are strengthening communication with the community, conducting continuous program evaluation, and providing capacity development training. This research contributes to developing more effective and sustainable BUMDes strategies.

Abstract

This study aimed to find out students’ perceptions of using Medium to promote reading interest in the English education study program at Sriwijaya University. A case study of a qualitative method was applied in this study. The research instruments used in this study were a close-ended questionnaire and a semi-structured interview. A total of 50 participants from 2, 4, 6, and 8 semester in English Education, Sriwijaya University joined the questionnaires and 5 selected participants participated in the interview. The data from questionnaire were analysed using percentage, while the data from interview were analysed using thematical analysis. Methodological triangulation used in this study to analysed both data source, in order to link in the answer from questionnaire and interview. The findings showed that the majority of students (78%) had positive experience regarding their experience in using Medium. They reported Medium help them to promote their reading interest citing its accessibility, diverse content, and ease of use as key advantages.
