Abstract

This research is motivated by the social crisis that has gripped society, such as increasing intolerance, individualism, and the moral decline of the younger generation. This demands an educational model capable of harmoniously integrating religious and humanitarian values. SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Dua Ngawi is an educational institution that strives to implement the integration of Islamic ethics and humanist character education in its learning process. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation of various school activities. Data analysis was conducted descriptively through the processes of reduction, presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results show that SDIT Alam Nurul Islam Dua Ngawi has successfully integrated Islamic ethical values and humanist character through integrative thematic learning, the cultivation of noble morals, and the creation of a friendly, inclusive, and reflective school culture. Values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, discipline, cooperation, and love for the environment are instilled through experience-based activities and teacher role models. The integration of Islamic ethics and humanist character education has proven effective in shaping students who are both religious and humanist. This strategy not only strengthens students' personal character but also fosters social awareness as part of a broader community. These findings contribute to the development of an Islamic values-based character education model that is adaptive to social dynamics and relevant to the challenges of 21st-century education.

Abstract

Character education in madrasahs plays a strategic role in shaping students who are religious, disciplined, and responsible. However, habituation programs in schools are often not optimally integrated with the local religious wisdom of the community. MA Arriyadlah Pandean has consistently developed istighosah and congregational dhuha prayer activities as forms of religious habituation rooted in local traditions. This study aims to analyze the revitalization of istighosah and congregational dhuha prayer as a model of character education based on local wisdom at MA Arriyadlah Pandean. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with the head of the madrasah and Aqidah Akhlak teachers, and documentation of religious activities. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that istighosah strengthens religious values, spirituality, and togetherness, while congregational dhuha prayer fosters discipline, responsibility, and empathy among students. These activities integrate Islamic values and local wisdom harmoniously, creating a religious and humanistic school culture. The revitalization of these religious practices effectively supports religio-cultural–based character education and offers a contextual model that can be adopted by other madrasahs.

Abstract

The conceptual crisis in modern education, which tends to view human beings in a reductionistic way, is limited to the rational and social dimensions, while the spiritual and transcendental aspects are ignored. The purpose of this study is to examine the nature of the human self in the perspective of the Qur'an by tracing the conceptual structure of nafs, qalb, 'aql, and rūḥ, and analyzing their implications for the philosophy of Islamic educational anthropology through a critical comparison with the theories of self-consciousness. The method used is a literature-based qualitative approach with philosophical-hermeneutic analysis and conceptual analysis. The results of the study show that the Qur'an views humans as multidimensional entities that unite rationality, morality, and spirituality in a relational awareness of God. This ontological concept of the Qur'an gave birth to the paradigm of the transcendental personality, the human self who is morally free but spiritually submissive to Divine values. Its philosophical implications for Islamic education are the need to build an integrated self-oriented humanistic-transcendental educational, through the processes of ta'aqqul (intellectual development), ta'dīb (moral formation), and tazkiyah (purification of the soul), in order to produce insān kāmil, a whole human being who is knowledgeable, civilized, and divinely aware.

Abstract

This study examines the history of IsIamic education poIicy in lndonesia, focusing on three important periods: the OId Order, the New Order, and the Reformation. IsIamic education is a crucial pillar of national development, serving not onIy as a means of transmitting reIigious teachings but aIso as an instrument for shaping national character and identity. This study employs a quaIitative approach with Iibrary research, analyzing policy documents, laws, and relevant scientific literature. The results indicate that during the Old Order, Islamic education gained formaI recognition within the nationaI education system, despite facing institutional limitations and government support. During the New Order, lsIamic education poIicy was more integrated into the nationaI education system through strengthened regulations, but at the same time, it remained under strict political control. Meanwhile, the Reformation era introduced more accommodating and democratic policies, marked by the enactment of the 2003 NationaI Education System Law, which affirmed the position of madrasahs and lsIamic boarding schooIs as an integral part of nationaI education. Thus, the development of lsIamic education policy reflects the dynamic relationship between politics, religion, and education, which continues to evolve over time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of using Scratch coding-based learning media in increasing primary school students' motivation to learn mathematics. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with six fourth-grade students from MI IT Nurul Iman Punung as subjects. Data were collected through observation, practical tests, and questionnaires assessing aspects of attention, active participation, perseverance, confidence, and enjoyment of learning. The results showed that the use of Scratch significantly increased the motivation to learn mathematics in all students. Male students excelled in programming logic and technical exploration, while female students excelled in visual creativity and social collaboration. An important finding from this study is that Scratch-based learning is able to create an interactive, enjoyable, and meaningful learning atmosphere, thereby changing students' perceptions of mathematics from a difficult subject to an interesting and contextual activity. The conclusion of the study confirms that Scratch is effective as an innovative learning medium for fostering intrinsic motivation, logical thinking, and creativity in students in 21st-century learning.

Abstract

Creed Akhlak (Islamic Aqidah ) learning plays a strategic role in shaping students' character and personality in accordance with Islamic values. However, in practice, this learning often focuses on cognitive aspects and memorization, thus under-emphasizing the affective and psychomotor dimensions that are essential in values ​​education. Therefore, a deep learning approach is needed that emphasizes not only understanding the material but also the appreciation, reflection, and application of values ​​in real life. This study aims to examine the application of the deep learning approach in Aqidah Akhlak learning and its impact on the internalization of Islamic values ​​in grade XII students of MA Muhammadiyah 01 Tegalombo . This study used a qualitative method with a case study design. Data collection techniques were carried out through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, the principal, and the deputy head of curriculum, documentation, and open-ended questionnaires to students. Data analysis was carried out using the interactive approach of the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the deep learning approach can increase students' active engagement in the learning process, deepening their understanding of the Aqidah Material morals, and encourage the internalization of values ​​such as honesty, responsibility, and tolerance in everyday life. Teachers implemented various strategies such as contextual case studies, reflective discussions, journal assignments, and grade presentations. Madrasah support contributed to the success of this approach. Despite challenges in terms of student readiness and time constraints, this approach was deemed effective in realizing Aqidah Learning morals that were more meaningful, transformative, and aligned with the goals of Islamic education.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and parents in preventing drug abuse among high school students in Besuk District, Probolinggo Regency. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach, obtaining data through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study show that the role of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is important in integrating the values of Islamic teachings into learning about the dangers of drugs, making it effective in instilling moral awareness in students to maintain their health and avoid drug abuse. In addition, parental involvement through open communication and supervision of children's social interactions is also a key factor in preventing drug abuse. Although these prevention efforts have shown positive results, obstacles such as limited time, resources, and peer influence remain major challenges. The synergy between PAI teachers, families, and the school environment has proven to strengthen drug prevention. Therefore, this study suggests the need to strengthen collaboration between schools and families, as well as increase the capacity of PAI teachers in providing more interactive and religiously-based materials related to the dangers of drugs. The results of this study are expected to provide benefits in the form of strengthening more targeted drug prevention strategies for adolescents.

Abstract

The purposes of this study to examine the implementation, strategies, and obstacles in implementing the qawaid wa tarjamah method in learning qiroah using the durus al lughah book at Madrasah Aliyah Islamic Boarding School for the Tahfidzul Qur’an Ar Royyan Pacitan. The qawaid wa tarjamah method is a method that emphasizes understanding grammar to achieve the skills of reading, writing, and translating Arabic texts. The method used is descriptive qualitative approach with data were collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The findings reveal that the qawaid wa tarjamah method, which involves reviewing the studies, practicing the knowledge in daily life, and mentoring by teachers is considered effective in improving student ability in Arabic. Daily conversation, yaumul ilmi, and muhadhoroh also become supporting factors in improving student Arabic language skills. However, several challenges were identified in the implementation of this method, including different student abilities, students forgetting mufrodad, and limited student learning time.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Civic Education (PKn) in instilling social care values among students at SMP Islam Qurani Al-Bahjah. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were obtained through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis. The findings indicate that the development of social care values is carried out through the integration of the national curriculum with the school’s Islamic culture, manifested in social project activities, value habituation, teacher role modeling, as well as the synergy between civic and religious activities. Values such as empathy, cooperation, solidarity, mutual assistance, and social responsibility were found to develop significantly among students, as reflected in the increased prosocial behavior and heightened sensitivity to environmental needs. The main supporting factors include the school’s religious culture, strong teacher support, and a conducive pesantren-based environment, while the challenges include the heterogeneity of student characteristics, limited instructional time for Civic Education, and external environmental influences. These findings demonstrate that an integrative Civic Education model grounded in religious values can strengthen the formation of students’ social care character and make a significant contribution to the development of value-based civic education

Abstract

Conventional learning practices tend to ignore the diversity of students' intellectual potential and focus solely on strengthening academic abilities, resulting in suboptimal holistic talent development. This study aims to examine the application of the Multiple Intelligences and Experiential Learning models in the learning process and identify the effectiveness of integrating the two in creating adaptive, student-centered learning. This study uses a literature review method with a descriptive-conceptual design through the exploration of academic literature analyzed using descriptive-comparative content analysis techniques, including the identification of key concepts, classification of thematic information, comparison of views between sources, and synthesis of information to construct a coherent theoretical framework. The findings of this study indicate that mapping multiple intelligences helps teachers understand the individual characteristics of students and adjust learning strategies, while authentic experiences through Experiential Learning can improve conceptual understanding and foster active attitudes. The synergy of the two models creates more inclusive, participatory learning and optimizes the balanced cognitive, affective, and psychomotor development of students, making it a suitable reference for designing humanistic learning that is relevant to the developmental needs of contemporary students.
