Abstract

The mental health of students in Islamic boarding schools is often neglected due to stigma, low literacy, and misunderstandings linking it to supernatural factors such as possession. This condition makes students reluctant to seek medical help and prefer a purely spiritual approach. This community service program aims to improve mental health literacy by integrating medical approaches and Islamic spirituality, which students and caregivers find more easily acceptable. The activity was carried out at Hidayatullah Al-Muhajirin Bangkalan Islamic Boarding Schools involved 30 students in counseling sessions, 48 students, and 15 caregivers in free health check-ups. The activity methods included an initial survey, interactive counseling, discussions, pre- and post-test questionnaires, and basic health services. Results showed an average increase in students' knowledge scores of 13 points after the counseling, indicating the program's effectiveness in improving mental health awareness. This increased insight also encouraged students to discuss psychological issues without stigma. The material was delivered by integrating Islamic values such as dhikr (remembrance of God), prayer, and meditation (contemplation). The free health check-ups also emphasized the importance of physical and mental balance from an Islamic perspective. This activity has implications for ongoing educational forums, caregiver training in early detection of mental disorders, and the development of medical-spiritual-based counseling services. This program has proven effective as an intervention model that can be replicated in other Islamic boarding schools, while also strengthening community involvement in creating a more caring and supportive environment for students' mental health.

Abstract

Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal disorders worldwide, with a global prevalence of 60–80% among adults. This condition results in limitations of daily activities, decreased productivity, and reduced quality of life. In Indonesia, LBP is frequently reported among both productive and elderly age groups, with major risk factors including non-ergonomic working postures, insufficient physical activity, and degenerative processes. In Kendari Barat District, LBP cases are often encountered at community health centers , particularly among individuals with diverse occupations such as office workers, traders, and laborers. These jobs often involve repetitive physical activity or prolonged static postures, highlighting the need for stronger promotive and preventive interventions at the community level. The purpose of this community service program is to strengthen the capacity of health fasilitators in understanding, preventing, and managing LBP through education, ergonomic training, and stretching exercises. The methods applied include interactive counseling, practical simulations, and cadre mentoring at the Kendari Barat Community Health Center. A total of 60 health cadres participating in this activity are expected to contribute by providing education to the community in their respective environments.                                                              Abstrak. Abstract

Greenwashing practices are carried out by businesses with unsubstantiated sustainability claims. The purpose of this research is to analyze the regulatory framework for business obligations in achieving Indonesia's 2022 ENDC target and the legal consequences of greenwashing. The research uses normative methods, conceptual approaches, and legislation. Law 16/2016, the ratification of the Paris Agreement, is the legal basis for the state's obligation to reduce emissions. Presidential Regulation 98/2021, the legal basis for the state, divides obligations among businesses, making them essential actors in achieving Indonesia's ENDC target. Ministerial Regulation of the Environment and Forestry 21/2022, the legal basis, contains operational procedures for businesses in carrying out their obligations through the SRN-PPI emission data instrument. The legal consequences arising from greenwashing practices as a side effect of Indonesia's ENDC regulations include articles in each law on competition and consumer protection that direct action against businesses engaging in greenwashing. However, adjustments to legislation and institutions that guarantee the credibility and oversight of GHG emission data are needed. Abstrak. Abstract

Hypertension is one of the Non-Communicable Cardiovascular Diseases (NCDs) most commonly experienced by the public, besides Diabetes Mellitus. In hypertensive patients, the blood pressure within the vessels increases, thereby requiring the heart to pump blood harder. Although pharmacological therapy has been provided by the Primary Health Center (Puskesmas), many hypertensive patients still have uncontrolled blood pressure. This is due to inconsistency in monitoring their health and poor dietary maintenance. Consequently, hypertensive patients' self-management has not been optimally implemented. This suboptimal implementation of self-management is closely related to the low knowledge of patients regarding self-management. The objective of this community service activity was to improve the self-management of patients in Batu Kumbung Village, within the working area of Lingsar Primary Health Center, West Lombok Regency. This activity involved 10 hypertensive patients through counseling on self-management using a booklet, education on applying self-management in daily activities with a notebook, and routine blood pressure checks. The evaluation results showed that all respondents experienced an increase in their self-management scores after the intervention, reaching scores in the range of 147 to 157, all of which were categorized as "Good". Specifically, the knowledge scores of all respondents reached a minimum of 70 ("Moderate") up to 100 ("Good"), with the majority achieving a score of 100. The blood pressure (BP) in all respondents tended to decrease, although the range of this reduction was not specified whether it had reached the normal limits or not. This reduction in BP indicates the positive effect of the intervention in helping to control blood pressure. Abstract

Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a major public health problem due to its increasing prevalence, late diagnosis, and limited awareness, particularly in rural communities. Early detection through simple and accessible screening methods is essential to prevent disease progression. This community service program aimed to enhance kidney health awareness and identify early risk factors for renal disorders through the integration of health education and dipstick urinalysis screening among residents of Pundan Village, Banyubiru District, Semarang Regency, Indonesia. The program was implemented using a participatory approach involving 45 adult community members. Activities included interactive health education sessions, urine dipstick screening, basic health measurements, and individualized counseling. The results showed that most participants initially had low knowledge of kidney health, while screening identified several risk indicators related to kidney dysfunction, including metabolic risk factors and abnormal urinalysis findings. The combination of education and hands-on screening improved participants’ understanding of kidney health and encouraged preventive behaviors. This program demonstrates that integrating health education with dipstick urinalysis is a feasible, low-cost, and effective community-based approach for early detection and prevention of kidney disorders. The model can be replicated in other rural settings to support promotive and preventive health efforts and reduce the burden of chronic kidney disease.
