Abstract

Social-emotional skills in early childhood have distinct characteristics, needs, abilities, and developmental patterns. These skills do not develop automatically but require consistent stimulation and guidance from teachers as educators and significant figures in the school environment. This study aims to describe childhood’s social-emotional and analyze teacher's strategies for suporting this development RA Nurul Mubarok Curahdami Sukorambi, Jember. This study employed a qualitative approach using a case study design. The research data were obtained through participatory observation in Class A at RA Nurul Mubarok, in-depth interviews with educators, and document analysis, including the curriculum, lesson plans, and children’s developmental records obtained from teachers and the school principal. The data was analyzed thematically, and the validity was strengthened through source and technique triangulation. The findings showed that children at RA Nurul Mubarok generally demonstrated basic social-emotional skills, including cooperating with others, following simple rules, sharing, waiting for their turn, and showing empathy. However, emotional regulation skill had not developed at the same level in every child, particularly when conflicts, competition, or changes in activities occurred. Teachers addressed these challenges through structured social play, role-playing, group activities, circle time, positive reinforcement, and emotional support through dialogue. These strategies were implemented flexibly by taking into account each child’s individual characteristics and readiness. Institutional support and the habituation of Islamic values, such as compassion, patience, forgiveness, and positive role modeling, also strengthened the process. Thus, children’s social-emotional development can be fostered more optimally when responsive pedagogical strategies are combined with a supportive school environment and character development based on values.

Abstract

Child grooming is a form of child sexual exploitation characterized by manipulative and gradual tactics; this phenomenon has become increasingly concerning due to children's growing access to digital devices and social media, which expands the scope for perpetrators while limiting parental supervision. This study aims to critically examine the construct of psychological resilience and the trauma healing process among victims of child grooming. It employs a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach following PRISMA guidelines to analyze literature published between 2021 and 2026 a total of 35. Data sources include scientific journal articles indexed in Scopus and SINTA, developmental psychology texts, and reports from relevant international organizations such as UNICEF and WHO, utilizing the keywords: child grooming, psychological resilience, trauma healing, and early childhood. The findings indicate that psychological resilience in early-childhood victims of child grooming is neither inherent nor static; rather, it is a dynamic capacity shaped by the interaction of internal protective factors (emotional regulation, secure attachment, self-efficacy) and external ones (family support, an inclusive school environment, professional intervention). Critical findings demonstrate that Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) combined with play therapy and caregiver involvement is significantly effective in the trauma healing process, particularly when interventions commence before the "golden age" of development concludes.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the strategies employed by educators in implementing the Deep Learning approach through project-based learning at the Tunas Pertiwi Sumber Rembang Early Childhood Education Center. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design. Informants were selected purposefully based on their direct involvement in project-based learning and their knowledge of curriculum planning and implementation. Data were collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation, and were then analyzed using the interactive model developed by Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that educators facilitate deep learning through project planning based on children’s interests, hands-on exploration, open-ended questions, collaborative activities, formative assessment, and reflection. Qualitative indicators observed during the projects included children actively asking questions, attempting to find solutions, collaborating, explaining their work, and reflecting on their learning experiences. The challenges identified include the diversity of children’s interests, limited resources, and the difficulties educators face in designing projects appropriate for the children’s developmental stages. Theoretically, this study demonstrates how the principles of meaningful, mindful, and enjoyable learning can be operationalized through project-based learning in the context of early childhood education. Practically, this study recommends enhancing educators’ competencies, encouraging collaborative planning, implementing formative assessment, and utilizing materials available in the local environment.

Abstract

This study analyzes the governance of village-based early childhood education (PAUD) and its implications for service quality in Kota Komba District, East Manggarai Regency. Using a qualitative case-study approach, the research involved 37 PAUD informants/respondents and drew on interviews, observation, and documentation review. The findings reveal four major governance problems: low teacher welfare, inadequate academic qualifications, weak service sustainability, and village-level political influence over teacher appointments and replacements. PAUD teachers generally receive only IDR 300,000-500,000 per month, usually paid quarterly, while most still hold senior high school qualifications. Observation data indicate limited learning facilities, inconsistent service implementation, multiple teacher workloads, and incomplete learning administration. Documentation review confirms these findings through honorarium records, teacher qualification documents, attendance lists, institutional files, learning plans, and service evaluation records that are not yet systematically organized. These governance weaknesses affect teacher motivation, learning continuity, pedagogical quality, institutional stability, child-teacher relationships, and the sustainability of services. The study recommends strengthening village PAUD governance through competency-based recruitment, accountable financing, regular and more decent teacher honoraria, teacher qualification upgrading, protection from political intervention, improved learning administration, and a village-based quality assurance system.

Abstract

Early childhood is a crucial period for the formation of life habits that can develop into integral components of a child’s character. From an Islamic perspective, clean living behavior is grounded in values contained in the Hadith, which need to be internalized through the family environment. This study aims to analyze parents’ understanding of Hadith teachings on cleanliness, their role in instilling clean living behavior in early childhood, the obstacles they face, and the strategies they use to overcome them. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using a field research method. The research informants consisted of 12 parents of children aged 4–6 years who were selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through an open-ended online questionnaire using Google Forms and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, which involved data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The credibility of the findings was strengthened through member checking. The results showed that parents understood cleanliness from two main perspectives: as part of thaharah and worship among informants with a religious education background, and as a matter of physical health among those with a general education background. Despite these differences in interpretation, Hadith values were contextualized in parenting practices through the habituation of clean behaviors. Parents played the roles of role models, guides, habituators, supervisors, and reinforcers, with role modeling emerging as the most dominant strategy. Key obstacles included inconsistent child behavior, children’s strong orientation toward play, environmental influences, and parental time constraints. These obstacles were addressed through repetition, guidance, enjoyable approaches, positive reinforcement, family communication, and increased role modeling. These findings indicate that although parents understand Hadith values differently, they contextualize them into concrete parenting practices, with role modeling serving as the primary mechanism linking religious values to children’s clean living behavior.

Abstract

The Free Nutritious Meal Program (MBG) aims to improve students' nutritional quality and has the potential to serve as a medium for instilling Islamic educational values, particularly gratitude and consumption moderation. This study aims to analyze the actualization of these values through the MBG Program based on Surah Al-A'raf verse 31 and Surah An-Nahl verse 114. This study employed a qualitative approach with a case study method in an early childhood education institution. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The findings show that the MBG Program actualizes gratitude through praying, appreciating food, and recognizing food as a blessing from Allah SWT. Consumption moderation is actualized through eating sufficiently, finishing meals, and avoiding food waste. Teachers and parents play an important role in strengthening these habits. The study concludes that the MBG Program not only supports children's nutritional needs but also serves as a medium for Islamic character education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the meaning of quality family time, its implementation, and its association with children’s social-emotional development in families living in urban areas. This qualitative study employed a case study method conducted in Mujur Village, East Praya District, Central Lombok Regency, Indonesia, involving four families with young children. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that quality family time is understood not in terms of the amount of time spent together, but in terms of the quality of parental involvement, attention, communication, and emotional connection with children. Its implementation was reflected in simple daily routines, including family meals, learning assistance, playing, spiritual activities, and bedtime conversations. The findings also indicate an association between quality family time and children’s social-emotional development, particularly in communication openness, emotional regulation, empathy, cooperation, and self-confidence. The novelty of this study lies in describing quality family time as a relational practice that can be optimized through everyday family routines within the context of families experiencing time constraints. This study provides an understanding that the quality of interaction is more important than the duration of togetherness in supporting children’s social-emotional development.

Abstract

This study aimed to improve the fine motor skills of children aged 4-5 years through the smudging technique (usap abur) in Group A of TKIT Al-Hidayah Subang. The study employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 12 children. Data were collected through observation and documentation, then analyzed using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results showed a significant improvement in fine motor skills at each stage: classical mastery increased from 25.00% in the pre-action stage to 66.67% in Cycle I and reached 100.00% in Cycle II. These findings indicate that the smudging technique effectively enhances hand-eye coordination, finger flexibility, accuracy, and children's independence in completing learning activities. Therefore, the smudging technique can be used as an alternative learning strategy to improve fine motor skills in early childhood education.
