Abstract

Purpose: This research aims to optimize sharia financial literacy among Muslim teachers at the Al-Hilaal Foundation, Ambon City, using a mental accounting approach. The study addresses the lack of understanding of Islamic financial principles and rational financial management among educators, who serve as vital agents of change in society Method: The study utilized a "pre-test and post-test one-group design". Data were collected from 20 teachers through questionnaires measuring sharia literacy and mental accounting concepts. Interventions included interactive lectures, discussions, and the distribution of training modules. Practical Applications: The findings demonstrate that integrating financial psychology with sharia values effectively improves financial behavior. This approach can be replicated in other educational institutions to enhance educators' economic well-being and prudent financial decision-making.  Conclusion: The intervention significantly increased participants' understanding of sharia financial management and behavior. The integration of mental accounting and maqāṣid al-sharī'ah provides a robust framework for developing sustainable financial mindsets that bridge rational and spiritual dimensions.

Abstract

Purpose: This paper aims to explicitly analyze the complex challenges of accountability, corporate governance, and legal risk faced by the Indonesian agritech unicorn, eFishery, as it manages rapid growth. The study addresses critical issues like alleged financial fraud, miscommunication, and resulting trust deficits, highlighting the imperative for transparent and accountable management to ensure sustainable growth in the agritech sector. Method: The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study design. Data was collected from secondary sources, including primary legal materials (e.g., Civil Code, UU ITE, OJK regulations) and secondary legal materials (e.g., journal articles, media reports). Content analysis with a thematic focus on accountability, governance, and legal risk was used for data analysis. Practical Applications: The findings offer crucial lessons learned and policy recommendations for other technology-based startups in Indonesia and the wider startup ecosystem. It emphasizes the practical steps of strengthening governance structures, enhancing transparency, and implementing robust internal oversight to build legally compliant and sustainable business models. Conclusion: The study concludes that integrating accountability and transparency from the early stages of growth and implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG) are key to mitigating risks and ensuring eFishery's long-term sustainability. Governance failures, including ineffective oversight and a less assertive Board of Commissioners, must be addressed to maintain integrity and stakeholder trust.

Abstract

Purpose: This community service initiative aims to strengthen students’ financial literacy by introducing key concepts such as amortization tables and sinking fund strategies. A significant proportion of students exhibit limited understanding of high-interest debt structures and lack essential personal financial management skills. The concept of amortization was introduced to demystify loan repayment mechanisms, while the sinking fund approach was presented as a disciplined strategy for long-term saving and financial goal achievement. Method: The program was implemented through a series of interactive socialization sessions, hands-on educational activities, and simulation workshops. Students actively developed amortization schedules and sinking fund models, enabling them to apply theoretical knowledge in practical contexts. To measure the impact, pre-test and post-test questionnaires were administered to assess improvements in students’ comprehension of financial principles. Practical Applications: The program successfully produced a range of accessible educational resources, including learning modules, student-friendly booklets, and digital Excel templates. These tools empower students to independently simulate loan repayment scenarios and savings plans, promoting self-reliance and informed financial decision-making. Conclusion: The results demonstrated a marked improvement in students’ financial literacy, with scores increasing from an average of 5.67 to 8.00. The integrated, experiential approach not only enhanced understanding but also fostered greater financial resilience among youth, equipping them with the knowledge to avoid predatory online lending practices that are increasingly common among students today.
