Abstract

Purpose: This study addresses the competency gap between vocational graduates and industry demands for UI/UX design skills through a Figma-based training program at SMK NU Donomulyo. Method: A hands-on, project-based workshop was delivered to 30 students. Effectiveness was measured via pre-test/post-test assessments, final project rubrics, and participant satisfaction surveys. Practical Applications: The program provides students with industry-standard prototyping capabilities and ready-to-use digital portfolios, directly improving their employability in the growing digital design sector. Conclusion: Findings revealed a 40.6% knowledge improvement, 100% project completion, and high satisfaction (4.5/5.0). The initiative successfully bridges educational and industrial requirements, confirming hands-on training as a vital strategy for vocational digital readiness.

Abstract

Purpose: Conventional farming practices that rely heavily on inorganic fertilizers have contributed to soil degradation and declining land productivity in many rural areas. This community service program was implemented to strengthen farmers’ capacity in adopting sustainable land-management practices that restore soil health and support long-term agricultural productivity. Method: The program employed contextual agricultural extension combined with Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) to explore farmers’ perceptions, challenges, and existing practices. This was followed by an intensive two-month coaching period involving weekly field visits, hands-on training, and collaborative development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and group action plans for sustainable land management. The final stage consisted of systematic monitoring and evaluation to assess skill acquisition, behavioral change, and adoption levels among partner farmer groups. Practical Applications: The program facilitated the joint production and application of organic fertilizer using locally available crop residues. This activity served as both a practical demonstration of sustainable nutrient management and an alternative to residue burning, which commonly contributes to soil degradation. Conclusion: Findings show that many farmers lacked knowledge regarding soil quality, particularly the role of organic matter in maintaining soil fertility. Through capacity building, hands-on training, and participatory learning, the program successfully enhanced farmers’ awareness, skills, and commitment to improving soil health. The results indicate that strengthened ecological literacy can support the transition toward more sustainable and productive farming systems within the partner community.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to introduce the concept of halal to Ayam Geprek business operators in Andamui Village, Curug District, Serang City, Banten, and to assess the improvement in their understanding after receiving educational activities. The background of the study lies in Indonesia’s strong potential for halal industry development, contrasted with the relatively low level of halal literacy among micro-businesses. Method: A descriptive qualitative method with a participatory educational approach was employed. Data were collected through field observations, interviews, and the administration of pre-test and post-test. Educational sessions were conducted directly with three business owners who served as the main respondents in this activity. Practical Applications: The educational intervention supports the enhancement of halal literacy among micro-business operators, especially in understanding halal principles, recognizing the importance of halal certification, and strengthening religious awareness and motivation in applying halal practices. This activity demonstrates the relevance of continuous guidance to help develop a stronger halal industry ecosystem at the MSME level. Conclusion: The results showed an average increase of 20–30% in understanding after the educational program. Two of the three businesses already possessed halal certification, while one was still in the application process. Overall, face-to-face education proved effective in improving knowledge and awareness regarding the application of halal principles among Ayam Geprek business operators.
