Abstract

Education is the basis for acquiring knowledge, including religious and moral values. The knowledge that humans get from education starts from humans in the womb with the first educator being their parents. To educate children, both parents have a strategy called an educational pattern. Education patterns are very diverse, especially education and childcare patterns. In Islam, there are many figures who can be examples in educating children, one of which is Luqman. Luqman became a role model for parents in educating their children, even Luqman's example in educating his children contained in the Qur'an Surah Luqman. In Surah Luqman verses 13-19 describe the pattern of education to children by giving advice, exemplifying commendable behavior and upholding the teachings of Islam in life. The verse emphasizes a balanced approach to education that ensures that children's lives remain in harmony with Islamic teachings and values. The study of educational patterns based on surah Al-Qur'an Luqman verses 13-19 can be a reference for parents in providing education to children in accordance with the Qur'an, so as to form children's character with good knowledge, morals and beliefs.

Abstract

The learning outcomes of fifth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Sumberejo, particularly in mathematics, remain relatively low. This is due to the use of learning models that lack variety and still rely heavily on the lecture method. Consequently, student engagement in the learning process is low. This study aims to implement the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on data presentation to improve learning outcomes for fifth-grade students at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Sumberejo. We employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the research method, involving 20 fifth grade students comprising 9 male and 11 female as the research subjects. Data were collected using written test and observation. The collected data were the analyzed using descriptive-comparative method. The results revealed a significant increase in learning outcomes, with mastery levels rising from 30% in the pre-cycle to 100% in cycle II. These findings suggest that PBL is an effective model for improving student engagement and learning outcomes, offering valuable insights for educators seeking to enhance mathematics instruction at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Mathematical Communication Skills (MCS) play a vital role in helping students structure their thinking and express mathematical ideas clearly and logically. Unfortunately, this skill remains relatively low due to limited interaction during instruction and the dominance of teacher-centered learning models. One innovative approach believed to address this issue is Project-Based Learning (PjBL), which positions students as active agents in the learning process. Numerous studies have indicated that PjBL can enhance MCS; however, it remains unclear which educational level and group size are most optimal for its implementation. This study aims to analyze the overall effect of PjBL on students’ MCS, as well as its impact across educational levels and sample sizes. A meta-analysis was conducted on eight published articles selected using PRISMA guidelines and analyzed using the Comprehensive Meta-Analysis (CMA) software. Effect sizes were calculated using Hedge’s g to measure the magnitude of the difference between the experimental and control groups. The results revealed that PjBL had a significant and moderately (0,785) effective impact on MCS, with students taught through PjBL demonstrating an average of 78.38% higher MCS compared to those in conventional learning environments. The highest effectiveness was found at the junior high school level, which aligns with Piaget’s view that students at this stage are in the concrete operational stage and are more responsive to activity-based and collaborative learning. Furthermore, PjBL was more effective when applied in smaller group sizes, as it allowed for more intensive interaction and support. However, the limited number and diversity of studies analyzed indicate a need for further research with broader coverage and more in-depth moderator analysis to obtain a more comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

Speaking is a key skill that helps kids grow socially and academically in elementary school. This study looks into good ways to teach speaking, finds common problems, and suggests new solutions to help students improve their speaking skills. The study uses library research to gather information from many academic papers. It finds that methods like acting out roles, telling stories, and using interactive media help students speak better by making them more involved, confident, and clear when sharing their ideas. For example, storytelling helps students tell stories in a clear way, and role-playing helps them feel more connected and speak more smoothly by acting out real-life situations. But there are some problems, like students not being confident enough, using their own local language instead of standard English, and not using a wide range of media. To fix these, the study suggests new ideas, like using picture boards and digital tools, which have helped students speak more fluently and take part more in class discussions. These results add to the conversation about how well people can communicate and give teachers real ideas for teaching speaking in a way that’s fun and includes everyone. By focusing on communication and putting students first, this research shows how important it is to use methods that are based on real-life situations and encourage active participation in speaking at the elementary level.
