Abstract

Antimicrobial resistance has become a major global health challenge that threatens the effectiveness of existing antibiotic therapies. The rapid emergence of multidrug-resistant bacteria highlights the urgent need for alternative antibacterial agents, including those derived from medicinal plants. This study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial potential of Phyllanthus niruri against Gram-positive bacteria and to identify the bioactive compounds and possible molecular mechanisms involved. A systematic literature review was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Articles were retrieved from the Scopus database using the keywords “Phyllanthus niruri” and “antibacterial” or “antimicrobial”. After applying predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, 15 studies published between 2021 and early 2026 were included in the analysis. The results indicate that P. niruri consistently exhibits antibacterial activity against several Gram-positive bacteria, particularly Staphylococcus aureus. Antibacterial activity was commonly evaluated using inhibition zone assays, minimum inhibitory concentration, and minimum bactericidal concentration tests. Several bioactive compounds, including flavonoids, tannins, alkaloids, and lignans such as phyllanthin, were identified as contributors to antibacterial activity. These compounds may inhibit essential bacterial proteins such as DNA gyrase and penicillin-binding proteins and disrupt bacterial cell membranes. Overall, P. niruri shows promise as a natural source of antibacterial agents against Gram-positive bacterial infections.

Abstract

Blasting is a critical operation in mining and civil engineering projects, and its effectiveness is strongly influenced by both blasting parameters and the geological characteristics of the rock mass. However, conventional blast design approaches often rely mainly on empirical guidelines and explosive parameters, while the variability of geological and geotechnical conditions is frequently underrepresented in the design process. Therefore, this study aims to systematically review and synthesize existing scientific literature on the influence of geological and geotechnical parameters in blast design optimization in order to identify key controlling factors, research trends, and technological developments that support more efficient and environmentally responsible blasting practices. This research adopts a systematic literature review approach based on established review procedures. Relevant scientific publications were collected from major academic databases, particularly Scopus indexed journals, using structured search strings applied to article titles, abstracts, and keywords. The selected studies were screened and analyzed, and the findings were synthesized into several thematic categories related to geological conditions, rock mass properties, blasting performance, environmental impacts, and emerging technologies in blast design optimization. The results show that geological and geotechnical parameters such as rock strength, discontinuity characteristics, structural geology, and rock mass classification significantly influence blasting outcomes, including rock fragmentation, explosive energy distribution, ground vibration, and flyrock generation. The findings also highlight the importance of the interaction between blast design parameters and geological variability in determining blasting efficiency. In addition, recent technological developments, including Measurement While Drilling systems, numerical modeling techniques, and machine learning based predictive models, have improved the integration of geological information into blast design optimization. The novelty of this study lies in its comprehensive synthesis of interdisciplinary research that integrates geological characterization, geotechnical analysis, and blasting engineering within a unified conceptual framework. This study contributes to the advancement of blasting research by providing an integrated understanding of the role of geological and geotechnical parameters in blast design optimization and by highlighting the transition toward data driven and geology informed blasting strategies in modern mining operations.

Abstract

Numeracy ability is one of the fundamental competencies in mathematics learning at the elementary school level, as it serves as the foundation for mastering more advanced mathematical concepts. However, in practice, there are still lower-grade students who experience difficulties in understanding basic arithmetic operations. Therefore, learning media that are concrete, engaging, and appropriate to students’ cognitive development stages are needed. This study aims to determine the effect of the Finger Counting Board Media on the numeracy ability of Grade II A and Grade II B students at SD Negeri 37 Cakranegara. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using the nonequivalent control group design type. The population of this study consisted of all Grade II students at SDN 37 Cakranegara, with a sample of 54 students, including 25 students from Class II A and 29 students from Class II B. Data collection techniques used were test and non-test methods. The instrument used in this research was a multiple-choice test sheet (Pretest and Posttest). Data analysis techniques included normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test, and N-gain test. The results of the study indicate that the use of finger counting board media has a significant effect on the numeracy ability of Grade II students. This is evidenced by the results of the independent sample test (t-test) with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 (< 0.05), indicating that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. In addition, the N-Gain value obtained was 0.05.

Abstract

The Wediombo Beach area, Gunungkidul Regency, Special Region of Yogyakarta, is located within a tsunami-prone zone caused by the subduction of the Indo-Australian Plate beneath the Eurasian Plate along the Sunda Subduction Zone. This study aims to: (1) model tsunami scenarios based on wave height variations of 7 m, 14 m, and 21 m; and (2) estimate the extent of infrastructure damage under each scenario in the Wediombo Beach area. Inundation zone modeling was performed using the DEM overlay method with 30-meter resolution SRTM data in ArcGIS, while infrastructure damage estimation followed the classification framework proposed by Schneider, Hoffmann, and Reicherter (2016), based on elevation and distance-to-coastline parameters. Infrastructure data were obtained through OpenStreetMap (OSM) digitization and validated by field surveys covering 64 infrastructure units. The modeling results indicate inundation areas of 0.023600 km² (7 m scenario), 0.032215 km² (14 m scenario), and 0.037193 km² (21 m scenario). Of the 64 infrastructure units analyzed, 51 units (79.69%) are potentially affected, comprising 23 units (44.23%) with severe damage, 15 units (28.85%) with moderate damage, and 14 units (26.92%) with minor damage. Economic infrastructure exhibits the highest impact rate (91.18%), whereas all transportation infrastructure remains unaffected across all three scenarios, indicating its strategic role as evacuation routes. These findings provide a scientific basis for tsunami hazard zonation and the formulation of coastal spatial planning policies in the Wediombo Beach area.

Abstract

This study analyzes the effectiveness of the coal supply chain as a key factor in maintaining production continuity and distribution stability in the mining industry. The research aims to evaluate the technical performance of the coal supply chain system at Pit TSBC of PT Bukit Asam Tbk, which integrates a shovel–truck system and a Bucket Wheel Excavator (BWE) system. The research methods include productivity analysis of loading and hauling equipment, cycle time evaluation, match factor calculation, availability assessment, and identification of potential system bottlenecks. The results indicate that the productivity of the shovel–truck system, at 3,075 tons per hour, remains below the effective capacity of the BWE system at 3,150 tons per hour, making the shovel–truck system the bottleneck of the supply chain. The average dump truck cycle time of 15.24 minutes produces 102.5 tons per hour per unit; however, an increase in hauling time to 20.82 minutes reduces productivity to 76.92 tons per hour per unit. Equipment availability, ranging from 80–90%, also significantly affects production continuity. Optimization of the match factor and improvement of hauling road infrastructure are identified as the primary recommendations to enhance overall supply chain performance.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of student activeness in mathematics learning, as indicated by limited participation in asking questions, responding, and engaging in discussions during the learning process. One potential solution to address this issue is the implementation of the Teams Game Tournament (TGT) method. This study aims to enhance student activeness in mathematics learning through the application of the TGT method. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consisted of two meetings and four stages: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 30 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation. The results indicate an improvement in student activeness, increasing from 62% in Cycle I to 86% in Cycle II. It can therefore be concluded that the implementation of the Teams Game Tournament method effectively improves student activeness in mathematics learning.
