Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the “Serbu Literasi” Program in improving elementary school students’ literacy skills. The research employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design in the form of a one-group pre-test and post-test. The subjects were 23 third-grade students of SDN 2 Labuapi. The research instruments consisted of a literacy test and an observation sheet. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and a normality test as supporting analysis. The results showed an increase in the students’ average score from 66.30 in the pre-test to 85.65 in the post-test. The statistical test also indicated a significant difference between students’ abilities before and after the treatment. Thus, the Serbu Literasi Program is proven to be effective in improving elementary school students’ literacy skills. The program also enhances student engagement, reading interest, and critical thinking skills in understanding information.

Abstract

Literacy programs in elementary schools tend to focus primarily on reading activities without incorporating reflective processes that can foster students’ critical thinking skills. This study aims to describe the implementation of the Literacy Reflection Circle program based on reflective journals as a strategy to strengthen the critical thinking skills of fourth-grade students at SDN 25 Mataram.This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques including observation, interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of 20 fourth-grade students.The results indicate that the implementation of the Literacy Reflection Circle program enhances students’ engagement in literacy activities, improves their ability to express ideas logically, and increases their confidence in participating in discussions. In addition, students show improvement in understanding, analyzing, and evaluating reading texts.Therefore, this program can serve as an innovative and effective literacy learning model to improve critical thinking skills among elementary school students.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of learning in classical Islamic institutions from the perspective of Islamic educational psychology. This study aims to determine how the concept of learning is applied in various classical Islamic educational institutions such as kuttab (Islamic boarding schools), mosques, madrasas, and Islamic libraries, and its relevance to modern education. The research method used is library research, collecting data from various books, journals, and scientific sources related to the history of Islamic education and Islamic educational psychology. The results show that the concept of learning in classical Islamic institutions is not solely oriented towards mastering knowledge but also emphasizes the development of students' morals, spirituality, and discipline. Learning methods used include memorization, halaqah (Islamic gatherings), discussions, scientific debates, and teacher role models. The relationship between teacher and student is built on respect, compassion, and sincerity. Classical Islamic institutions have succeeded in creating a religious, humanistic, and character-building learning environment, thus producing many prominent scholars and scientists in Islamic history. The concept of learning in classical Islamic institutions remains relevant in modern education, particularly in efforts to develop an education that emphasizes not only intellectual aspects but also moral and spiritual aspects.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the level of environmental literacy understanding among fifth-grade students at SDN 19 Cakranegara, the factors influencing it, and the role of teachers in improving students’ environmental literacy. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of fifth-grade teachers and fifth-grade students at SDN 19 Cakranegara. Data were collected through observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. Data analysis used the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data collection, data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the validity of the data was tested through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that the level of environmental literacy understanding among fifth-grade students at SDN 19 Cakranegara is categorized as very good, as reflected in the achievement of the following aspects: knowledge (100%), skills (98.7%), character (94.7%), and behavior (98.7%). In the knowledge aspect, students were able to understand the causes of environmental damage and ways to preserve the environment; in the skills aspect, students were able to carry out cleanliness activities independently and in an organized manner; in the character aspect, students demonstrated caring attitudes, discipline, and responsibility toward the school environment; while in the behavioral aspect, students had developed positive habits such as disposing of waste properly, conserving energy, and actively participating in school environmental activities. The factors influencing students’ environmental literacy understanding include the role of teachers, parental support, and the school environment. Teachers act as facilitators, mentors, role models, and supervisors in shaping students’ environmental awareness through learning activities, habituation, and direct involvement in school programs. Parental support is reflected in the provision of cleanliness facilities and the encouragement of environmentally friendly behavior at home. In addition, a clean and well-organized school environment, supported by the involvement of all members of the school community, further strengthens the development of students’ environmental literacy. Based on the findings, it can be concluded that the environmental literacy of fifth-grade students at SDN 19 Cakranegara has developed very well through processes of habituation, role modeling, supervision, and support from various parties within both the school and family environments.

Abstract

This research is motivated by observations and interviews with teachers at MI NW Karang Bata, which showed that most students experienced difficulties in understanding story problems, determining solution steps, and selecting the correct arithmetic operations. Furthermore, students tended to be less active in the learning process and still required teacher guidance. Therefore, a learning model capable of actively engaging students in learning activities is needed, one of which is the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model. This study aimed to determine the effect of using the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model on the mathematical problem-solving abilities of fourth-grade students at MI NW Karang Bata in the 2025/2026 academic year. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design and a non-equivalent control group design. The study population was 39 fourth-grade students at MI NW Karang Bata. The sampling technique used saturated sampling, so the entire population served as the research sample. The research sample consisted of 21 students from class IV A as the experimental class and 18 students from class IV B as the control class. Data collection techniques were conducted through tests and documentation. The research instruments consisted of pre-test and post-test essay questions that had been tested for validity, reliability, difficulty level, and discriminatory power. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, followed by normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis testing using an independent sample t-test using the JASP application. The results showed that the Auditory Intellectually Repetition (AIR) learning model had a significant effect on students' mathematical problem-solving abilities. This was evidenced by the results of the hypothesis test, which obtained a p-value of 0.001 < 0.05, thus rejecting H₀ and accepting Ha₀. Furthermore, the average score of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class, at 79.29, compared to 64.44 for the control class. Thus, the AIR learning model is effective in improving students' mathematical problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of Islamic educational psychology from the perspective of contemporary scholars, particularly the thoughts of Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas and Malik Badri. The background of this study is based on the dominance of Western educational psychology which tends to be secular and materialistic, thus less accommodating the spiritual dimension in Islamic education. Therefore, it is necessary to reconstruct the concept of educational psychology based on the values of monotheism and human nature. This study uses a qualitative approach with a library research method. Data were obtained from various sources such as books, scientific journals, and relevant documents, then analyzed descriptively and analytically to find the main concepts related to Islamic educational psychology. The results show that Malik Badri emphasizes a holistic and psychospiritual psychological approach through the concept of tazkiyah al-nafs, with an integration of scriptural, philosophical, and Sufism approaches. Meanwhile, Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas emphasizes the importance of an Islamic worldview framework centered on monotheism through the concept of ta'dib as the basis for the formation of civilized humans. Both figures share a similar view of education as a process of developing a perfect human being encompassing intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects. However, they differ in their emphasis, with Badri's approach being more practical and applied, and al-Attas's more philosophical-epistemological. This study concludes that the integration of the thoughts of Malik Badri and Syed Muhammad Naquib al-Attas can provide a strong conceptual foundation for developing Islamic educational psychology relevant to the challenges of the modern era.

Abstract

Mitosis cell division is an important process in plant growth and occurs actively in meristematic tissues, one of which is the root tip of shallots (Allium cepa). Mitotic activity can be influenced by the growing medium used, especially media containing nutrients and growth regulators. This study aimed to examine the process of mitotic cell division in shallot root tips soaked in three different media, namely plain water, rice washing water, and young coconut water. The research was conducted using an experimental method with a descriptive approach. Shallots were soaked for approximately 48 hours until roots were formed, then the root tips were prepared using the squash method and observed under a light microscope. The observed parameters included the stages of mitosis and root growth. The results showed that the plain water medium only exhibited prophase and telophase stages with low mitotic activity. The rice washing water medium showed telophase and cytokinesis stages with moderate mitotic activity. Meanwhile, the young coconut water medium exhibited more complete mitotic stages, namely prophase, telophase, and cytokinesis, and produced the most optimal root growth. These findings indicate that the type of soaking medium affects mitotic activity in shallot roots, with young coconut water being the most effective medium in supporting cell division.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of interactive PowerPoint  learning media on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students. The research approach used is quantitative with a Quasi-Experimental design, specifically Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sampling technique uses saturated sampling, where the entire population of two classes is used as a research sample with class VA (experimental) and class VB (control). The research instrument is a multiple-choice test that has passed the validity test. The data were analyzed through prerequisite tests, including the normality test (Shapiro-Wilk) and homogeneity test (Levene's Test), before continuing with hypothesis testing using the Polled Variance Test. The results showed that the sig. (2-tailed) value was 0.00 <0.05, with the average score of the experimental class   (84,36  ) higher than the control class( 65,18). With a total sample of 44 students (22 per class), the results of the statistical test showed that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted, so it can be concluded that interactive PowerPoint  media has a significant effect on the science learning outcomes of fifth-grade students.

Abstract

This research is Research and Development. The purpose of this study is to determine the validity and practicality of the Augmented Reality (AR) learning card media based on Assambler Edu for the excretory system. The population in this study were students of SMA Negeri 8 Makassar, with the selected sample being class XI Merdeka 5 of SMA Negeri 8 Makassar. The data collection technique used a validity and practicality assessment questionnaire. The collected data were data regarding the validity and practicality of the developed learning media. The results of the validity analysis show that the Augmented Reality (AR) learning card media based on Assambler Edu for the excretory system material obtained a score of 0.9, which is in the very valid category. Meanwhile, the practicality analysis results from the teacher obtained a score of 80.25%, and the student questionnaire analysis results obtained a score of 85.89%, which is in the range of 80% < P < 100%, with a very practical category. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Augmented Reality (AR) learning media based on Assembler Edu for the excretory system material is valid and practical.

Abstract

This study aims to develop an Augmented Reality (AR)-based e-module on the human respiratory system material for eleventh-grade students at SMAN 9 Makassar. This study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE development model, which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. The research instruments included validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, and learning outcome tests. The results showed that the AR-based e-module obtained a validity score of 0.96, which was categorized as very valid. The practicality level based on the teacher responses reached 96.25%, while the student responses reached 81.25%, both categorized as very practical. Furthermore, the effectiveness analysis using the N-gain test obtained an average score of 0.43, which was categorized as moderate. Based on these findings, the AR-based e-module was declared valid, practical, and sufficiently effective for use in Biology learning on the topic of the human respiratory system.
