Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning methods on student learning motivation at SMPN 12 Bengkulu City. The research method used is quantitative research with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, questionnaires and interviews with PAI students and teachers. The research results show that varied learning methods, such as group discussions, interactive lectures, and technology-based approaches, have a positive impact on students' learning motivation. Factors that contribute to increasing learning motivation include active student interaction, teacher involvement in facilitating learning, and the use of innovative learning media. This research concludes that choosing the right learning method in PAI plays a significant role in increasing students' learning motivation.

Abstract

Science literacy is one of the essential competencies that students must have in facing the challenges of the 21st century. However, the results of international assessments show that the science literacy of students in Indonesia is still low. One of the factors contributing to the low science literacy is the lack of integration of science process skills in learning. This study aims to integrate science process skills in science learning through a guided inquiry learning model to improve students' science literacy. The research method used was an experiment with a one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study were fifth grade students of Magersari 2 Elementary School, Sidoarjo. Data were collected through observation, science literacy tests, and interviews with teachers and students. The results showed that the application of the guided inquiry learning model significantly improved students' science process skills and science literacy. Students became more active in making observations, asking questions, interpreting data, and drawing conclusions based on the results of the investigation. Thus, the integration of science process skills in the guided inquiry learning model can be an alternative effective learning strategy to improve elementary school students' science literacy.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the role of teachers as motivators in increasing students' interest in learning at MA Hidayatul Qomariyah, Bengkulu City. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data was collected through observation, interviews and documentation. The research results show that teachers have an important role in providing motivation to students through various strategies, such as giving awards, personal approaches, and using innovative learning methods. Factors that support the effectiveness of the teacher's role as a motivator include good communication, availability of learning facilities, and support from the school environment and family. These findings provide insight for educators and stakeholders in efforts to improve the quality of education by strengthening the role of teachers as motivators.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the strategies used by teachers in overcoming learning challenges at SMP 18 Bengkulu City. Challenges in learning can come from various factors, including limited resources, differences in student characteristics, and changes in the curriculum. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this research collected data through interviews, observation and document analysis. The research results show that teachers apply various strategies such as the use of innovative learning methods, differentiation approaches, and the use of technology as a learning medium. Apart from that, support from the school and parental involvement also play a role in successfully overcoming learning challenges. It is hoped that this study will provide insight for educators in improving the effectiveness of the learning process in schools.

Abstract

The interest in using extensive listening (EL) in ELT pedagogy is emerging. This study scrutinized the views of pre-service English teachers on the concepts of EL and their views on the implementation of EL in the ELT classroom. Using the qualitative descriptive design, this study collected the data from two pre-service English teachers who attended the Extensive Listening course for four months with a total of 14 meetings. They participated in learning the concepts of EL, doing EL inside the class, and practicing EL conveniently outside the class. The data were collected using open-ended questionnaires at the end of the semester. The data collected were then analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings of this study revealed that the pre-service English teachers routinely practiced EL by listening to English materials on various topics. EL was reported to help them enhance their L2 aural vocabulary knowledge and hone their other language skills. Having an adequate understanding of the EL concepts, both the pre-service English teachers agreed on the inclusion of EL in the ELT curriculum at the school level. They also provided explanations of the possible challenges of using EL in class and how to overcome it. This study can be a source of inspiration for English teachers who are interested in implementing EL in the ELT classroom.

Abstract

This research was conducted at UPT SMP Negeri 31 Gresik. This research took place from December 2024 until completion. The background of this research is based on the author's interest in conducting research on the Implementation of the Operational Assistance Fund Management Policy (BOS) at UPT SMP Negeri 31 Gresik. This study aims to identify how the policy is implemented, assess its effectiveness, and determine the challenges faced during the implementation process. The analysis method used in this study is a qualitative method, namely a method used to analyze and compile arguments by describing, comparing, interpreting data and linking it to theory, then drawing conclusions and suggestions. The data collection method in this study was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation, and using data related to the implementation of the BOS fund management policy at UPT SMP Negeri 31 Gresik. The informants involved included the principal, BOS treasurer, Dapodik operator, and several teachers. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the BOS fund management policy at UPT SMP Negeri 31 Gresik has been running according to established procedures, although there are several obstacles in its implementation. Therefore, effective communication is needed between the principal, teachers, and parents, timely distribution of funds, and competent officers to ensure that the management of BOS funds can run optimally.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the percentage of the educational background of Arabic language teachers in Muhammadiyah schools in Yogyakarta city by calculating the percentage of graduates of Arabic language education and non-Arabic language education. This research uses descriptive quantitative research with documentation data collection techniques in the form of Arabic language teacher data in Yogyakarta and calculated using the percentage formula. The results showed 186 Arabic teachers in Yogyakarta city from every level of education. Most of these teachers do not have a background in Arabic education. The data for each school level include 74 teachers in high school with a percentage of PBA graduates of just 7%, 50 teachers in junior high school with a percentage of 4%, and in elementary school there are 62 teachers with a percentage of only 10% and the overall percentage value of teachers with Arabic language education backgrounds only amounts to 7% with Arabic language education backgrounds. So that from the results of the percentage calculation, it is known that there are still many Muhammadiyah schools in the city of Yogyakarta that do not have teachers with Arabic language education backgrounds so Muhammadiyah schools in the city of Yogyakarta still need Arabic language teachers who have PBA graduates.

Abstract

This research aims to examine the role of ethnoscience integration in the independent curriculum in improving students' critical thinking and problem solving skills. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach by conducting a literature review method. A qualitative approach was chosen because it aims to explore phenomena in depth and understand concepts related to the integration of ethnoscience in the Independent Curriculum and its influence on critical thinking and problem solving skills. The data analysis technique in this research uses descriptive analysis. The research results show that the integration of ethnoscience in the independent curriculum can improve critical thinking and problem solving skills

Abstract

This research aims to explore students' achievement of understanding physics concepts through qualitative data analysis using NVivo. Education, as regulated in Law no. 20 of 2003 concerning the National Education System, aims to develop the potential of students to become individuals who have faith, noble character, knowledge and independence. In this context, learning physics does not only study theory but also applies practice to understand natural phenomena as a whole. The research method used is qualitative, with data sources in the form of learning media, materials and interactions during teaching and learning activities. Data analysis was carried out using NVivo, producing visualizations such as word clouds and word trees to understand the structure and meaning of the data. This study also discusses the use of NVivo and TBLA (Transcript-Based Lesson Analysis) in qualitative data analysis, which shows the effectiveness of data visualization in understanding the relationship between climate change and the agricultural sector. This research confirms the importance of understanding concepts in education and the contribution of NVivo in improving quality qualitative data analysis
