DEDIKASI: Community Service Reports publishes reports on the research dissemination and community services. It is our interest to elaborate the method applied during the research dissemination and the implications of the implementation to the process, understanding, and community social economic development. This journal is published by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta Indonesia. It is expected that the journal could become a publication outlet for meaningful information about community services activities especially to the readers who want to conduct, improve, or create novel community service activities.

Abstract

Workshop pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan para pendidik dalam menciptakan media pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dengan memanfaatkan teknologi digital, khususnya melalui pendekatan game-based learning. Tantangan yang dihadapi adalah rendahnya kreativitas dan pemahaman algoritma di kalangan pendidik, serta minimnya implementasi pembelajaran berbasis game di sekolah. Dilaksanakan di SMP Al Qolam Muhammadiyah Gemolong, workshop ini memanfaatkan fasilitas kelas yang tersedia, meliputi paparan teori, praktik langsung, dan pendampingan intensif dalam pengembangan game menggunakan Construct 2. Para peserta tidak hanya belajar membuat media pembelajaran interaktif, tetapi juga memperdalam pemahaman tentang literasi digital dan algoritma. Hasil kegiatan ini menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan dalam kemampuan desain pembelajaran, serta kepercayaan diri dalam menggunakan teknologi untuk mendukung proses mengajar. Dari pelatihan ini, terlihat bahwa penggunaan pendekatan berbasis game dapat merangsang kreativitas dan memperkuat pemahaman algoritma dalam konteks pembelajaran.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to test the effectiveness of The Occupational Information Network (O*Net) Content Model to Develop Career Construction for Teachers in implementing guidance and counseling services in schools. The research method is experimental with single group pretest-posttest design. The research subjects were 30 of Special Job Fair Teachers and 30 of Guidance and Counseling Teachers in Boyolali Regency. The instrument used is the career construction scale. The data analysis technique uses a different test (paired sample t-test). Research activities include in service training and on the job training. The research results showed an increase in scores from the initial measurement (pretest) of teacher competency mastery in fostering career construction with the final measurement (posttest) of 32.509 with a significance value [2-tail] of 0.000. These results show the effectiveness of The Occupational Information Network (O*Net) Content Model to Grow Career Construction through the extraordinary commitment, hard work and desire to learn of Guidance and Counseling Teachers. The hope is that they will be able to carry out experiential learning in their respective schools so as to create many best practices that can be referred to by other Guidance and Counseling teachers.

Abstract

Landslides are one of the frequent natural disasters occurring in various regions of Indonesia, including the Village of Sanggang in Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency, Central Java. This area boasts diverse topography with numerous steep slopes, rendering it susceptible to landslides. The Bulu District is located in a hilly region with a high vulnerability to landslides, where from 2019 to 2020, there were recorded 11 landslide disaster events, with 10 of them occurring in the Bulu District. This study aims to map landslide-prone areas in the Village of Sanggang using a spatial analysis approach and relevant risk factors. The analytical methods include the use of topographical data, soil types, rainfall patterns, and historical landslide occurrences. The mapping results will provide a deeper understanding of locations vulnerable to landslides in this area. The outcomes of this research are expected to serve as a foundation for the development of more effective mitigation strategies, including recommendations for prevention measures and early warnings. A better understanding of these susceptible areas will assist local government authorities and stakeholders in safeguarding their communities and assets from the potential landslide hazards in the Village of Sanggang, Bulu District, Sukoharjo Regency.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru musik SMA dalam memanfaatkan teknologi digital, khususnya instrumen musik virtual, guna menciptakan bahan ajar yang interaktif dan relevan. Dalam era digital, teknologi musik memberikan peluang baru bagi guru untuk mengadaptasi gaya belajar siswa Generasi Z yang cenderung visual dan berbasis teknologi. Program ini meliputi serangkaian tahap, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Pada tahap pelaksanaan, para guru mengikuti pelatihan yang mencakup teori dan praktik penggunaan virtual music instruments serta pembuatannya sebagai produk bahan ajar. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui observasi langsung dan kuesioner untuk menilai efektivitas program dalam mengembangkan keterampilan guru. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan musik dapat meningkatkan minat siswa sekaligus memperkaya metode pengajaran guru. Dengan adanya pendampingan lanjutan, diharapkan guru dapat terus mengembangkan bahan ajar kreatif yang mampu mendukung pembelajaran musik yang inovatif.

Abstract

The application of Arduino-based robotics technology in vocational education has received significant attention as a practical learning method, especially in fostering automation skills. This community service focuses on the development and implementation of a line follower robot project at SMK Negeri 1 Kaliwungu to support practical learning in the automotive engineering program. This project introduces students to the basic concepts of automation through hands-on experience in microcontroller programming, sensor integration, and electronic circuit design using the Arduino platform. This community service adopts a project-based learning approach, involving students in designing, building, and testing a line follower robot. This method aims to bridge theoretical knowledge and practical applications, equipping students with skills that are in line with industry demands. The implementation is carried out in a structured learning environment supported by adequate facilities and modern tools to simulate real-world scenarios. The practical results show that students show significant improvements in their understanding of automation systems, problem-solving abilities, and technical skills relevant to robotics and automotive applications. Furthermore, the project-based approach encourages collaborative teamwork and independent learning, preparing students to face the challenges of a rapidly evolving technological landscape. This service highlights the potential of integrating Arduino-based robotics into vocational school curricula as a medium to enhance practical skills and technological literacy. It also provides a replicable framework for other institutions looking to incorporate automation technology into their educational programs.

Abstract

Integrating Internet of Things (IoT) technology into education is increasingly vital in supporting environmental sustainability and developing green skills among students. This community service program focused on utilising IoT for water quality monitoring as part of extracurricular activities in a vocational school. The program aimed to enhance students’ understanding of environmental conservation and provide practical skills aligned with Industry 4.0 standards. The activities included preparation, IoT workshops, and hands-on implementation in the field, focusing on real-time monitoring of water parameters such as pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), and temperature using IoT-based sensors. The results indicated that students became more aware of environmental issues and developed practical IoT and data analysis competencies. This initiative also highlighted the importance of IoT in enhancing competitive skills in the job market, particularly in sectors requiring sustainable practices. The adoption of IoT in education, especially in green skill camps, offers significant potential to prepare students for future challenges in environmental management and technological innovation.
