DEDIKASI: Community Service Reports publishes reports on the research dissemination and community services. It is our interest to elaborate the method applied during the research dissemination and the implications of the implementation to the process, understanding, and community social economic development. This journal is published by the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Sebelas Maret, Surakarta Indonesia. It is expected that the journal could become a publication outlet for meaningful information about community services activities especially to the readers who want to conduct, improve, or create novel community service activities.

Abstract

Dalam rangka meningkatkan kompetensi dan kemampuan mengajar guru-guru dalam bidang matematika, sejalan dengan standar kompetensi guru yang ditetapkan pemerintah dalam Permendiknas Nomor 16 Tahun 2007, Departemen Matematika Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) bekerja sama dengan Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto mengadakan workshop pelatihan olimpiade matematika yang ditujukan kepada guru-guru Matematika yang tergabung dalam MGMP Matematika SMA/MA Kabupaten Banyumas. Workshop ini telah dilaksanakan pada tanggal 9 Oktober 2024 di SMAN 3 Purwokerto. Kegiatan ini merupakan keberlanjutan dari program PkM yang telah diinisiasi oleh Departemen Matematika UGM sejak 2017. Dukungan berkelanjutan ini diharapkan dapat memperkuat keterampilan guru dalam penguasaan konsep matematika dan aplikasinya dalam pembelajaran di kelas, sehingga berkontribusi pada peningkatan kualitas pendidikan di Indonesia, khususnya di kabupaten Banyumas.

Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi informasi yang semakin pesat, kemampuan literasi digital menjadi salah satu keterampilan yang sangat penting untuk dimiliki, terutama bagi generasi muda yang merupakan tulang punggung masa depan desa. Adanya pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan digital literacy dan content creator. Pelatihan ini berlokasi di Desa Sukajadi Kabupaten Ciamis. Subjek dalam pelatihan ialah kelompok pemuda di Desa Sukajadi Kabupaten Ciamis sebanyak 40 peserta berusia 18-40 tahun. Metode yang digunakan berupa pelatihan dengan tahapan persiapan, pelaksanaan, evaluasi dan tindak lanjut. Hasil yang telah dicapai adalah: 1) pada tahap persiapan, koordinasi dengan pihak desa dan karang taruna Desa Sukajadi terjalin dengan baik; 2) pada tahap pelaksanaan, dilakukan dengan dua kegiatan, yakni pemaparan materi dan praktik bagaimana cara menjadi content creator yang dilaksanakan di Aula Desa Sukajadi di Jalan Desa Sukajadi; 3) pematerian disampaikan dalam rangka memberikan pemahaman tentang konsep dasar literasi digital dan menumbuhkan keterampilan menjadi konten kreator; 4) hasil evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan ini berdampak terhadap meningkatkanya pemahaman literasi digital dan mereka dapat memanfaatkan teknologi digital secara maksimal untuk kemajuan diri dan desanya.

Abstract

Sungai Bengawan Solo selain membawa berkah juga membawa musibah. Salah satu bencana yang disebabkan oleh aliran Sungai Bengawan Solo adalah terjadinya erosi tebing sungai. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mendiskripsikan kondisi erosi tebing Sungai di Desa Ngasinan, Kecamatan Bulu, Kabupaten Sukoharjo dan upaya masyarakat bersama mahasiswa KKN Universitas Sebelas Maret dalam mitigasi bencana tebing Sungai tersebut. Metode yang digunakan adalah observasi lapangan, wawancara, sosialisasi, pelatihan. Hasil yang telah dicapai adalah (1) Eksperimen Serta Pemaparan Tentang Bencana Banjir dan Tanah Longsor Ke Sekolah Dasar, (2) Pengolahan Sampah sebagai Bentuk Pengurangan Resiko Bencana Banjir, (3) Sosialisasi Desa Tanggap Bencana di Desa Ngasinan, Kecamatan Bulu, Kabupaten Sukoharjo, (4) Sosialisasi Relawan Penanggulangan Bencana Desa Ngasinan, (5) Sosialisasi untuk Melibatkan Perempuan dalam Relawan Penanggulangan Bencana, (6) Sosialisasi Perlindungan Aset, (7) Pembuatan Tanda Penunjuk Arah ke Tempat Pengungsian Berdasarkan Peta Evakuasi, (8) Sosialisasi Peta Bahaya Bencana dan Jalur Evakuasi, (9) Pembuatan Video Dokumenter tentang Kebencanaan di Ngasinan. Selain kegiatan tentang pengurangan risiko bencana, mahasiswa KKN kelompok 14 juga berhasil memperbaiki data kependudukan online.

Abstract

Wooden tenons are crucial components in joinery used in furniture manufacturing. Unfortunately, their production still heavily relies on manual methods, leading to inefficiencies. This research focuses on developing and evaluating an integrated wooden tenon machine to enhance efficiency and productivity in furniture manufacturing. Through quantitative experimental methods, the study compares the speed and capacity of wooden tenon production between manual methods and the integrated machine. Techno-economic analysis is also conducted to assess production feasibility. Experiments take place at UD. Sunarso Mebel using Suren (Toona Sureni) wood with five different size specifications: 3 cm thick, 40 cm long, and varying widths of 6 cm, 9 cm, 12 cm, 14 cm, and 25 cm. Results indicate that the integrated machine boosts wooden tenon production speed by up to 10 times and capacity by up to 9 times compared to manual methods. Additionally, the quality of dowels produced by the machine is superior due to smoother and more precise surfaces. With low production and operational costs, the machine is economically recommended for profit enhancement. The investment in the integrated wooden tenon machine can be recouped within just one month.

Abstract

Speed and accuracy of workmanship are important supporting factors for business actors operating in the service sector. The availability of adequate supporting equipment can increase work productivity and can reduce the risk of work accidents that can endanger the surrounding environment. Technological developments in the automotive industry always provide innovations. Even though it is like that, it still doesn't escape the new problems that accompany it. In the process of replacing a car clutch lining, the application of knowledge about lifting aircraft is very necessary. Differences in the load capacity of car engines that exceed human strength capacity require the use of tools according to specifications. The addition of a hydraulic system to the machine support can provide lifting power that is greater than the power produced by mechanics in lifting or holding loads that exceed their capacity. Apart from that, implementing a culture of occupational health and safety is important to realize workforce welfare. What is not expected when repairing a car's clutch lining is a shift in the load support of the car's engine which can cause damage to other components and can even endanger mechanical safety. The property of magnets that can attract metal objects can be used to improve K3 in the automotive industry as an effort to prevent engine supports from shifting position when repairs are carried out on car clutch linings.

Abstract

Berdasarkan  hasil  observasi  dan  wawancara  di  SDN  103 Seluma diperoleh informasi bahwa: (1) pengetahuan guru tentang Pembuatan instrument penilaian pembelajaran;    (2)  masih kurangnya pengetahuan guru-guru dalam menyusun penilaian pembelajaran memanfaatkan aplikasi yang dapat digunakan ketika pelaksanaan pembelajaran digital; (3) masih ada guru belum terampil memanfaatnya pembelajaran digital  dan (4) Hasil belajar kognitif  siswa masih rendah. Tujuan dari kegiatan PKM ini adalah untuk menambah  pemahaman  dalam membuat   instrument penilaian dan meningkatkan   keterampilan guru   dalam membuat Instrumen Penilaian dengan Menggunakan Fitur Quiziz. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat yakni observasioal dan modeling  yang mencakup empat fase, yaitu: (1) Fase perhatian (attentional phase) ; (2) Fase retensi (retention phase),; (3) Fase reproduksi (reproduction phase); dan (4) Fase motivasi (motivation phase). Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi observasi, dokumentasi, dan penyebaran angket/kuesioner. Hasil dari PKM ini  terjadi peningkatan dari segi aspek (1) pemahaman guru  tentang  instrument penilaian dengan  nilai  rata-rata  pretest  sebesar  80.25  menjadi  93.40  pada posttest, (2)  pemahaman  guru  tentang  Instrumen Penilaian dengan Menggunakan Fitur Quiziz dengan  rata-rata  nilai pretest sebesar  70.45  pada pretest menjadi  92.25 dan (3) keterampilan   dalam   pembuatan   Instrumen Penilaian dengan Menggunakan Fitur Quiziz dengan  nilai  rata-rata pretest sebesar  70.00 menjadi 90.25 pada posttest. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan pembuatan instrument penilaian menggunakan Quizizz dapat meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan pembuatan instrument penilaian menggunakan Quizizz

Abstract

People with special needs are often marginalized from society. Barriers to communication make it difficult for people to understand and hinder their participation in their activities. Similar problems were found in KKN activities in Jonasan, Pucangsawit Village. Residents who have special needs, namely deaf disabilities, are considered unable to speak. Observations on conditions in the field indicate the ability to communicate by capturing lip movements, so one of the UNS Group 34 KKN work programs in 2023 conducts basic sign language training for the community. This activity aims to equip the community with understanding and sign language skills at the basic level to become a bridge of communication between Jonasan Village residents and Deaf friends who also live in Jonasan Village. In addition, it is also intended to mitigate the communication gap between residents and people with disabilities, deafness, and similar cases in the community.

Abstract

Badran Village is known for its signature honey pumpkin cultivation, which is managed by the village's Women Farmers Group (KWT). These honey gourds have a high selling value in the fruit market, ranging from Rp35,000 to Rp80,000 per kilogram. However, the crop watering system in Badran Village is still conventional, causing challenges in maintaining sufficient and regular irrigation for the honey pumpkin crop which is highly dependent on water supply. In an effort to increase productivity and water-use efficiency in honey pumpkin cultivation, the KKN Team of Sebelas Maret University Group 33 proposed a work program in the form of an Automatic Drip Irrigation System. This system utilizes Internet of Things (IoT) technology with NodeMcu ESP8266 as the control board and Blynk platform to allow remote supervision and control of the device via smartphone. The use of this technology is expected to help KWT and other urban farmers in maximizing their agricultural yields and reducing water wastage. The results of the KKN Group 33 activities in Badran Village show that the construction of the drip irrigation system went smoothly according to schedule. The construction of this automatic drip irrigation system is expected to help KWT in increasing the potential of honey pumpkin farming as well as agricultural tourism attraction in their village. This research also provides room for improvement by incorporating soil moisture sensors or automatic scheduling based on time, which can further increase the efficiency of this system

Abstract

Students with disabilities require suitable educational materials. Hence, one of the essential skills that a teacher must possess is the ability to provide suitable instructional materials for students. A workshop was organized by this community service activity at SLB YPCM Boyolali, focusing on creating educational media for instructors using Canva. The training instructs teachers on how to design flashcards specifically tailored for students with disabilities to facilitate their learning process. The advantage of this activity is the enhanced proficiency of SLB YPCM Boyolali teachers in creating digital educational materials. Another advantage is assessing instructor perspectives when employing digital media for educational purposes. The school will provide students with exceptional needs the opportunity to develop the skill of product branding using the processed foods they create. The post-workshop evaluation results indicate that this activity is highly successful and positively influences participants. Evidence demonstrates that 90% of participants can generate flashcard learning media products using Canva. The participants had a favorable opinion of Canva due to its user-friendly interface and comprehensive range of functions, despite most participants having limited computer proficiency. The session presented was met with a high level of satisfaction from most attendees.

Abstract

The Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach based on ethnomathematics has been introduced as a significant innovation in mathematics teaching in primary schools, linking mathematical concepts with local culture and students' daily lives. The objective of this service initiative is to enhance teachers' competencies in implementing RME, as well as to make mathematics learning more engaging and meaningful for students. The methods employed in this service initiative include training and mentoring for teachers, consisting of seminars, discussions, and direct teaching practices. The results of this initiative indicate a significant improvement in teachers' knowledge and skills in utilizing the RME learning model. Evaluation shows that the average student scores increased from 60.25 in the pretest to 91.25 in the posttest, indicating the success of this method's implementation. The conclusion drawn from this activity is that continuous mentoring for teachers in integrating ethnomathematics into RME learning is crucial for enhancing the quality of mathematics education, especially in the context of local culture. The application of this model not only improves students' understanding of the material but also fosters their interest in mathematics as a whole.
