Abstract

ABSTRACTThe purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the frequency of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on body fat of female university students. A quasi experimental design was applied by involving 21 undergraduate students who were divided into three groups of treatments moderate-intensity aerobic exercise intervention for eight weeks. The first group was two times a week, the second group was three times a week, and third group was four times a week. Primary data collected was included subcutaneous fat (triceps, abdomen, and thigh). The results showed that the third group has significantly difference in reducing body fats, namely 6.6 cm triceps, 5.4 cm abdomen, and 9.4 cm thigh (p<0.05).Keywords: aerobic exercise, body fat, moderate-intensityABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh frekuensi senam aerobik intensitas sedang (low impact) terhadap lemak tubuh mahasiswi. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi eksperimen dengan subjek berjumlah 21 mahasiswi, kemudian dibagi kedalam tiga kelompok perlakuan dengan melakukan senam aerobik intensitas sedang selama delapan minggu. Kelompok pertama diberikan perlakuan dua kali dalam seminggu, kelompok kedua tiga kali dalam seminggu dan kelompok ketiga diberikan perlakuan empat kali seminggu. Data primer terdiri atas lemak tubuh (trisep, abdomen, dan paha depan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada kelompok tiga terdapat penurunan yang nyata (p<0,05) sebelum dan setelah perlakuan sebesar 6,6 cm trisep, 5,4 cm abdomen dan 9,4 cm paha depan.Kata kunci: aerobik, intensitas sedang, lemak tubuh

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aimed to analyze the determinant factors that influence the breakfast habits in children in public primary schools in Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. The cross-sectional study was applied. The subject was selected in random sampling. Subjects were 300 students in grade 3,4, and 5 in SDN 03, 04, 09, and 10 Pondok Labu, South Jakarta. The analysis performed using chi-square analysis and multivariate logistic regression. The results showed that the breakfast habits of primary school children by 71.7% with a median energy of 246 kcal. The results showed a significant correlation between breakfast habits of the sexes, the availability of breakfast and breakfast nutrition knowledge (p<0.05). The school children breakfast was significantly affected by nutritional knowledge (p<0.05).Keywords: breakfast, children, knowledgeABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis faktor-faktor dominan yang memengaruhi kebiasaan sarapan pada anak-anak sekolah dasar negeri di Pondok Labu, Jakarta Selatan. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional dengan penarikan subjek secara random sampling. Subjek berjumlah 300 siswa kelas 3, 4, dan 5 di SDN 03, 04, 09, dan 10 Pondok Labu, Jakarta Selatan. Analisis yang digunakan adalah chi-square dan multivariat regresi logistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan sarapan pada anak sekolah dasar sebesar 71,7% dengan median energi sarapan sebesar 246 kkal. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara jenis kelamin, ketersediaan sarapan, dan pengetahuan gizi dengan kebiasaan sarapan (p<0,05). Kebiasaan sarapan pada anak sekolah dasar sangat dipengaruhi oleh pengetahuan gizi.Kata kunci: anak sekolah, pengetahuan, sarapan

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aimed of this study was to determine the differences intake of macro-nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates) and fiber with respect to their nutritional status of children aged 6-12 years. This study was used secondary data Riskesdas 2010. The number of subjects was 2,987 children aged 6-12 years in Sulawesi Island. Body Mass Index for Age (BMI/U) was used to measure the nutritional status. Independent sample t-test and analysis of variance were applied to answer the research questions. The result showed that most of subjects were male (58.7%), living in rural areas (50.2%), and with low economic status (54.1%). In regard to protein intake, most of the children age 6 years was about 80-99% Recommended Dietary Intake (RDA). On the contrary, most of children 7-9 years and 10-12 years were below 70% RDA. There were no differences intake of macro-nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrates) and fiber to the nutritional status of children aged 6-12 years (p>0.05). This study found that most of the children were suffering macro-nutrients intake regardless their nutritional status. Therefore, we need to have a good program to monitor nutritional status of school children.Keywords: nutrient intake, nutritional status, school age children 6-12 yearABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan asupan zat gizi makro (protein, lemak, karbohidrat) dan serat terhadap status gizi pada anak usia 6-12 tahun. Penelitian ini menggunakan data sekunder Riskesdas 2010 dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Subjek penelitian adalah anak usia 6-12 tahun dengan status gizi kurus, normal, dan gemuk menurut IMT/U di Pulau Sulawesi tahun 2010 berjumlah 2.087 orang. Pengujian statistik menggunakan independent sample t-test dan Anova. Sebagian besar subjek berjenis kelamin laki-laki (58,7%), tinggal di perdesaan (50,2%), dan berstatus ekonomi rendah (54,1%). Rata-rata asupan protein pada kelompok umur 6 tahun termasuk kategori sedang (80-99% AKG) namun pada usia 7-9 tahun dan usia 10-12 tahun termasuk kategori defisit (<70% AKG). Tidak terdapat perbedaan asupan zat gizi makro dan serat terhadap status gizi (IMT/U) di Pulau Sulawesi (p>0,05). Penelitian ini menemukan adanya keberagaman asupan dan status gizi anak usia sekolah. Oleh karenanya, diperlukan program pemantauan status gizi secara rutin di sekolah.Kata kunci: anak usia 6-12 tahun, asupan zat gizi, status gizi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to analyze factors related to fruits and vegetables consumption of elementary school children in Bogor. The design of this study was cross-sectional with purposive sampling. A total of 108 children in SDN Cibanteng 01 in rural area and SDN Papandayan in urban area. Children consumption of fruits and vegetables in SDN Papandayan was higher than SDN Cibanteng. There were significant differences between children consumption of fruits based on ethnic and mother`s job (p<0.05). Children knowledge of nutrition and education of father and mother significantly positive associated with children consumption of fruits and vegetables, as well as pocket money, availability of fruits in house, and family income positive significantly associated with children consumption of fruits (p<0.05).Keywords: children, consumption, fruits and vegetables, socio-economicABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan konsumsi buah dan sayur pada anak usia sekolah dasar di Bogor. Desain penelitian ini adalah cross sectional dengan teknik penarikan subjek secara purposive sebanyak 108 subjek di dua sekolah dasar di Bogor yaitu SDN Cibanteng 01 Kabupaten Bogor dan SDN Papandayan Kota Bogor. Konsumsi buah dan sayur di SDN Papandayan lebih besar dibandingkan dengan SDN Cibanteng. Terdapat perbedaan yang nyata konsumsi buah anak berdasarkan suku dan pekerjaan ibu (p<0,05). Pengetahuan gizi anak dan pendidikan ayah dan ibu berhubungan signifikan positif dengan konsumsi buah dan sayur anak, demikian pula uang saku, ketersediaan buah, dan pendapatan keluarga berhubungan signifikan positif dengan konsumsi buah anak (p<0,05).Kata kunci: anak, buah dan sayur, konsumsi, sosial-ekonomi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of the study was to analyze the effects of torbangun flour-based functional supplementary food for breastfeeding mothers who received breastfeeding counseling on infant’s growth and exclusive breastfeeding practice The subjects were 20 pregnant women in their third trimester and were monitored until delivery and were given supplementary food for 30 days. Single blind randomized controlled trial was used to group subjects into intervention group (n=10) that was given supplementary food containing torbangun flour, and control group (n=10) with no torbangun flour. All subjects were given breastfeeding counseling two times before delivery and three times during supplementary food was given. The study showed that breastfeeding counseling significantly increased the knowledge and attitude of respondents on exclusive breastfeeding. In the intervention group, the average score of knowledge increased from 59.1±22.4 to 94.1±6.9 (p<0.05), while the attitude increased from 65.8±11.4 to 94.1±8.8 (p<0.05). In control group, the average score of knowledge increased from 75.0±11.8 to 94.4±7.2 (p<0.05), while the attitude increased from 75.0±14.4 to 94.4±11.0 (p<0.05). Supplementary food containing torbangun flour significantly caused shorter time in regaining infant’s birth weight. The average time was 5.1±1.4 days for intervention group, while the control group was 7.0±2.4 days (p<0.05). The success rate of exclusive breastfeeding practice in the intervention group was 90%, while in the control group was 80%.Keywords: exclusive breastfeeding, supplementary food, torbangunABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh pemberian makanan tambahan fungsional berbasis tepung torbangun pada ibu yang mendapat konseling menyusui terhadap pertumbuhan bayi dan pemberian ASI eksklusif. Subjek penelitian adalah 20 orang ibu hamil pada trimester ketiga yang diikuti hingga melahirkan dan diberikan makanan tambahan selama 30 hari. Desain single blind randomized controlled trial digunakan untuk menentukan produk makanan tambahan yang diberikan kepada ibu yaitu kelompok intervensi (n=10) mendapat produk yang mengandung tepung torbangun dan kelompok kontrol (n=10) mendapat produk tanpa tepung torbangun. Seluruh subjek diberikan konseling menyusui dengan frekuensi dua kali sebelum ibu melahirkan dan tiga kali selama pemberian makanan tambahan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konseling menyusui signifikan meningkatkan skor pengetahuan dan sikap responden tentang ASI eksklusif. Kelompok intervensi, rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 59,1±22,4 menjadi 94,1±6,9, skor sikap dari 65,8±11,4 menjadi 94,1±8,8 (p<0,05). Kelompok kontrol, rata-rata skor pengetahuan dari 75,0±11,8 menjadi 94,4±7,2, skor sikap dari 75,0±14,4 menjadi 94,4±11,0 (p<0,05). Pemberian makanan tambahan yang mengandung tepung torbangun berpengaruh signifikan terhadap waktu yang lebih singkat untuk mencapai kembali berat badan lahir bayi yaitu 5,1±1,4 hari untuk kelompok intervensi sedangkan kelompok kontrol 7,0±2,4 hari (p<0,05). Selama waktu pemberian makanan tambahan, keberhasilan praktek pemberian ASI eksklusif pada kelompok intervensi adalah 90% sedangkan kelompok kontrol adalah 80%.Kata kunci: ASI eksklusif, makanan tambahan, torbangun

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to analyze the influence of blondo, snakehead fish flour and brown rice flour-based biscuit on the improvement of the nutritional status of anthropometric and serum albumin in malnourished children aged 3-5 years old. The design of this study was Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) with single blind pre-post study. The total subjects were 50 underfive children and divided into two groups. They were given the biscuits for 90 days. Before intervention, the body weight and serum albumin level of subjects were measured. The analysis method were paired t-test. The result showed that the difference between baseline and endline in control group for energy was 20.8±3.9 kcal, treatment group was 45.6±8.6 kcal, endline in control group for protein was 9.5±1 g, and treatment group was 16.6±2.4 g. The changing of weight in the control group from 11.7±0.8 kg increase to 13.3±1.1 kg, the weight of treatment group from 11.7±0.7 kg increase to 13.6±1.0 kg. The increasing of albumin level in the control group was 0.3±0.1 g/dL, and treatment group was 1.0±0.2 g/dL. The increase of weight for age and albumin level after consuming nutritious biscuits can increase and normalize the nutritional status of the malnourished children. It is concluded that intervention of the formulated biscuits for 90 days could increase the nutritional status (weight for age and weight for height) and the serum albumin level in the 3-5 years old malnourished children.Keywords: albumin, biscuit, blondo, brown rice flour, malnutrition, snakehead fish flourABSTRAKTujuan penelitian adalah menganalisis pengaruh biskuit berbasis blondo, ikan gabus (Channa striata), dan beras merah (Oryza nivara) terhadap perbaikan status gizi antropometri dan serum albumin anak gizi kurang usia 3-5 tahun. Desain penelitian Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) Single Blind Pre-post Study. Jumlah subjek 50 balita terbagi menjadi dua kelompok yaitu kelompok perlakuan dan kontrol. Kelompok perlakuan diberikan biskuit selama 90 hari. Sebelum dan setelah intervensi dilakukan pengukuran berat badan, tinggi badan, dan kadar serum albumin. Metode analisis menggunakan paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perubahan asupan energi antara awal dan akhir masa perlakuan pada kelompok kontrol adalah energi 20,8+3,9 kkal, kelompok perlakuan 45,6+8,6 kkal, perbedaan asupan protein kelompok kontrol 9,5+1 g dan kelompok perlakuan 16,6+2,4 g. Perubahan berat badan kelompok kontrol 11,7+0,8 kg menjadi 13,3+1,1 kg, kelompok perlakuan 11,7+0,7 kg menjadi 13,6+1,0 kg. Peningkatan albumin kelompok kontrol 0,3+0,1 g/dL, kelompok perlakuan 1,0+0,2 g/dL. Peningkatan berat badan dan albumin setelah mengonsumsi biskuit mampu memperbaiki status gizi anak gizi kurang menjadi normal. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa intervensi formula biskuit selama 90 hari dapat meningkatkan status gizi BB/U, BB/TB, dan kadar serum albumin anak gizi kurang usia 3-5 tahun.Kata kunci: albumin, biskuit, blondo, gizi kurang, tepung beras merah, tepung ikan gabus

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study was aimed to analyze relationship between patterns of consumption and health status with nutritional status and development of children under five years. The design of this study was cross sectional. Subject in this study were 63 children under five years. Food consumption data was collected using Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and child development data using Bina Keluarga Balita instruments. The results showed severe wasting and wasting existed in the under three years children but not in preschool. Under three years children had an average growth rate greater than preschool. There is a significant relationship between maternal employment and health caregiving pattern with nutritional status (WHZ) (p=0.015), income with nutritional status (HAZ) (p=0.009), and disease history within a month with nutritional status (WAZ) (p=0.022). Mothers should pay more attention to children’s health caregiving pattern and provide sufficient time for the children.Keywords: consumption, development, health, nutritional statusABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hubungan pola konsumsi dan status kesehatan dengan status gizi dan perkembangan balita. Desain penelitian adalah cross sectional dengan subjek sebanyak 63 balita. Data pola konsumsi diambil menggunakan Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) dan data perkembangan balita diambil menggunakan instrumen Bina Keluarga Balita. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa status gizi sangat kurus dan kurus masih ada pada usia batita tetapi tidak ada di usia prasekolah. Sebagian besar subjek yang berusia batita memiliki rata-rata nilai perkembangan lebih besar dibandingkan subjek yang berusia prasekolah. Terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pekerjaan ibu dan pola asuh kesehatan dengan status gizi (BB/TB) (p=0,015), pendapatan per kapita dengan status gizi (TB/U) (p=0,009), dan riwayat penyakit sebulan dengan status gizi (BB/U) (p=0,022). Ibu sebaiknya lebih memperhatikan pola asuh kesehatan anak dan menyediakan waktu yang cukup untuk anak.Kata kunci: kesehatan, konsumsi, perkembangan, status gizi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to assess child feeding knowledge and practice in transitional period (6-8 months), mother’s information exposure and the functioning of the health system in delivering complementary feeding programs. A cross sectional study was done to 175 children aged 6-8 months at 12 villages in Jonggat Sub-district, Lombok. Structured interview to the mothers, 24 hour recalls, and in-depth interview to the cadres of Integrated Health Posts were used throughout the study. Most mothers had poor knowledge and practice on child feeding (68.0% and 75.4%, respectively). Almost all children had received complementary food (98.9%), but only less than a half children were introduced to complementary food at the appropriate age i.e. 6 months (45.7%). Only few children had good dietary diversity i.e. ≥ 4 food type in the previous day (6.9%). More than half of the mothers (52%) were exposed to information related to child feeding practice. The sources of information mostly were from health officers, cadres, mother and child health book and printed media (e.g. newspaper and magazine). The local health staff and cadres had basic knowledge on child feeding programs but the practice was not adequate. Mother’s knowledge and practice on child feeding within the transitional period in Jonggat sub-district was poor. The health system was not functioning well in delivering complementary feeding programs.Keywords: cadres, child feeding pattern, complementary feeding programsABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengetahuan dan praktek pengasuhan makan pada anak selama masa transisi (6-8 bulan), sumber informasi ibu, dan keberhasilan sistem kesehatan dalam program MP-ASI. Cross sectional study dilakukan dengan subjek 175 anak usia 6-8 bulan di 12 desa di Kecamatan Jonggat, Lombok. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara terstruktur kepada ibu, food recall, dan wawancara mendalam kepada kader Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu). Sebagian besar ibu memiliki pengetahuan (68,0%) dan praktek (75,4%) pengasuhan makan anak yang rendah. Hampir seluruh anak sudah menerima MP-ASI (98,9%), tetapi kurang dari separuh anak menerima MP-ASI pada umur yang sesuai yaitu enam bulan (45,7%). Hanya sedikit anak (6,9%) yang memiliki skor keanekaragaman pangan baik, yaitu makan >4 jenis pangan pada hari kemarin. Sebesar 52% ibu sudah terpapar dengan informasi mengenai praktek pengasuhan makan anak. Sumber informasi paling banyak berasal dari petugas kesehatan, kader, buku Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak (KIA), dan media cetak. Petugas kesehatan setempat dan kader memiliki pengetahuan dasar mengenai program MP-ASI tetapi prakteknya masih kurang baik. Pengetahuan ibu dan praktek pengasuhan makan anak pada masa transisi di Kecamatan Jonggat masih kurang. Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aim of this study was to examine the knowledge, perception, implementation of weight-loss diet pratices and nutritional status on the male undergraduate students of nutritional science. Design of this study was a cross sectional study with 98 subjects. Result showed that 73.3% subjects had normal nutritional status, 54.0% subjects had moderate knowledge, and 55.1% subjects had positive perception. There were 9.1% of the subjects who practiced weight-loss diet. There was a significant correlation between knowledge and perception of Obsessive Corbuzier Diet (OCD) and perception of blood type diet, also between dietary practice and nutritional status (p<0.05).Keywords: knowledge, nutritional status, perceptions, weight loss dietABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji pengetahuan, persepsi penerapan diet penurunan berat badan dan status gizi pada mahasiwa gizi putra. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan cross sectional study, dengan subjek sebanyak 98 orang. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa subjek memiliki status gizi dengan kategori normal sebanyak 73,3%, subjek memiliki pengetahuan mengenai diet penurunan berat badan dengan kategori sedang sebanyak 54,0% dan subjek memiliki persepsi yang positif mengenai diet penurunan berat badan yaitu sebanyak 55,1%. Terdapat subjek yang melakukan diet penurunan berat badan sebanyak 9,1%. Uji korelasi menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara pengetahuan dengan persepsi Obsessive Corbuzier Diet (OCD) dan persepsi terhadap diet golongan darah, serta antara praktek diet dan status gizi (p<0,05).Kata kunci: diet penurunan berat badan, pengetahuan, persepsi, status gizi

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe objective of this study was to assess the micronutrient and nutritional status among female adolescents having low birth weight history and normal birth weight history. Research design for this particular research was nested cohort in community level. Subjects was chosen by simple randomization, based on data collected by Frontiers for Health Foundation and Padjajaran University, Bandung. The measurement of micronutrients status (Hb, retinol plasma, and urinary iodine excretion), anthropometric, history of disease, semi quantitative food frequency questionnaire was collected to make comparison between female young adolescent with low birth weight and normal birth weight history. The prevalence of iron deficiency anemia (IDA), vitamin A deficiency (VAD), and iodine deficiency among all subjects were 9.9%, 12.9%, and 40.7%, respectively. The mean concentration of blood hemoglobin, plasma retinol and iodine excretion were not significantly different between low birth weight (LBW) and normal birth weight (NBW) group. Nutritional status, disease during the last three months, current nutritional status, food intake and onset of menstruation were not significantly different between group. In conclusion, micronutrient status, nutritional status, food intake and morbidity status in female adolescents with LBW and NBW history were not different.Keywords: iodine, iron, low birth weight, normal birth weight, vitamin AABSTRAKTujuan penelitian ini adalah mengukur status mikronutrien dan gizi remaja putri yang memiliki riwayat berat badan lahir rendah dan berat badan normal. Desain penelitian ini adalah nested cohort retrospective untuk tingkat komunitas. Subjek penelitian dipilih berdasarkan randomisasi sederhana, berdasarkan data cohort yang dikumpulkan oleh Yayasan Frontriers for Health dan Universitas Padjajaran, Bandung. Pengukuran status mikronutrien (Hb, plasma retinol, dan kadar iodium dari ekskresi urin), pengukuran antropometri, riwayat penyakit yang diderita dan pengumpulan data mengenai asupan makanan dilakukan perbandingan antara remaja putri yang memiliki berat badan normal dan berat badan lahir rendah. Prevalensi anemia kekurangan zat besi, kekurangan vitamin A dan kadar iodium dari ekskresi urin pada semua subjek adalah 9,9%, 12,9%, dan 40,7%, secara berurutan. Konsentrasi rata-rata dari hemoglobin darah, plasma retinol dan kadar iodium dari ekskresi urin tidak berbeda secara nyata antara remaja putri dengan berat badan lahir rendah dan berat badan normal. Status gizi, penyakit yang diderita selama tiga bulan terakhir, asupan makanan, dan usia mulai mengalami menstruasi tidak berbeda secara nyata antara remaja putri dengan berat badan normal dan berat badan rendah. Status mikronutrien, status gizi, asupan makanan, dan status morbiditas pada remaja putri dengan berat badan lahir rendah dan berat badan normal tidak terdapat perbedaan yang nyata.Kata kunci: BBLN, BBLR, iodium, vitamin A, zat besi
