Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the role of self-actualization as an intermediary in the influence of leadership example and communication on employee performance at Bina Mandiri Multimedia Vocational School. The exemplary variable is understood through three indicators, namely exemplifying the method, inspiring, and challenging the process. The leader communication variable also has two indicators, namely verbal and non-verbal communication. Meanwhile, self-actualization is understood through indicators such as the search for happiness, achieving personal success, and understanding one's identity. Performance variables are defined through aspects such as quality, quantity, and responsibility. This research uses quantitative methods with a confidence level of 95%. The sample used consisted of all employees of Bina Mandiri Multimedia Vocational School, namely 40 people. The data collection method involves the use of primary data through observation and questionnaires and secondary data through literature study. The research instrument was tested through validity and reliability tests. Data analysis was carried out using Smart PLS with a partial square structural analysis approach. The research results show that leadership example has a positive impact on self-actualization which in turn has a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Meanwhile, leadership communication has a smaller or insignificant impact on self-actualization and its influence on employee performance is also limited through this factor.

Abstract

The capital market is one of the most critical factors in developing the Indonesian economy and can be used as a medium for investing. In Indonesia, the SRI-KEHATI Index is currently attracting much attention. Macroeconomic factors such as the exchange rate, inflation rate, amount of money in circulation, Monday effects, and Friday effects are variables that are quite often mentioned in their influence on stock indices, especially during the pandemic. After the COVID-19 pandemic, the capital market has been experiencing fluctuations and depreciation. This research aims to test the influence of Monday effects, Friday effects, interest rates, inflation rates, and the amount of money in circulation on stock indices with COVID-19 as a moderation. Using the multiple linear regression method, the number of samples used in this research was 958, which is monthly data from January 1, 2019, to November 30, 2022. The research results show that the variables of interest rates, money supply, and the COVID-19 pandemic significantly influence the SRI-KEHATI Index. In contrast, the Monday effect, Friday effect, and inflation variables do not have a significant effect.

Abstract

In an increasingly tight business competition era, employee performance is the key for companies to achieve their goals. This research investigates the influence of compensation, work discipline, and motivation on employee performance in manufacturing companies that implement Work from Home (WFH) in Batam City. This research also examines whether motivation can act as a mediating variable in the relationship between compensation discipline and employee performance. Data was collected by distributing questionnaires to 270 respondents who were WFH employees in Batam City. The research results show that work compensation and work discipline do not significantly influence employee performance. However, work motivation has a significant favorable influence on employee performance. Work motivation also acts as a mediating variable between work compensation, work discipline, and employee performance.

Abstract

Since 2012, sales volume at Tanah Abang Wholesale Market has experienced a downward trend; worst of all, in 2018, approximately 30% lost regular customers. Sales turnover is the total number of sales of goods or services within a certain period, which is calculated based on the amount of money earned and based on volume. The leading cause of the decline in turnover in the Tanah Abang market block B is the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to restrictions on socializing activities in the community, commonly referred to as PSBB, a new government policy, all traders in the Tanah Abang market block B are also affected. Traders improve and develop management and sales strategies to compete with the modern market.

Abstract

Financial distress is when a company experiences difficulty fulfilling its obligations or struggles to pay off its obligations, which requires the company to take corrective action. This research aims to determine the accuracy of prediction models for coal sector companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2018-2022. This research analyzes company financial reports using secondary data collection techniques. The variables studied are the profitability ratio, which consists of Return on Assets, Gross Profit Margin, and Net Profit Margin. The object of this research is companies in the coal industry sub-sector. This prediction model predicts 18 company data from 32 samples tested, so prediction errors occur in 5 observation data samples. This model can predict companies, where 18 companies predicted not to experience financial distress and five companies predicted to experience financial distress due to the Return on Assets (ROA) and Net Profit Margin (NPM) values.

Abstract

Currently, the banking world is experiencing very tight developments due to competitive rivalry between one bank and another. This research aims to analyze the influence of promotions, brand image, service quality, trust, and CRM on customer loyalty, which is mediated by customer satisfaction in the banking sector. This research has a population derived from the population of Batam City in 2020, namely 1,196,396 people. Based on the 1:10 method, a sample of 350 respondents was obtained. This research also uses quantitative methods using descriptive statistics with the results of promotions, brand image, service quality, trust, and customer relationship management, significantly influencing customer loyalty and customer satisfaction in the banking sector.

Abstract

Good University Governance (GUG) is an approach to higher education management that prioritizes transparency so that responsibility to society can be better measured. This research evaluates how the GUG concept is applied in higher education management and how the implementation process takes place effectively. The research method used is a literature study, with sources of information based on literature reviews such as books, journal articles, and other relevant materials. The research results show that the GUG concept is suitable for application in higher education management and aligns with modern management principles. However, this research has limitations because it needs to compare the best practices implemented by universities or identify the obstacles they may face.

Abstract

For indigenous peoples, agriculture is still the basis of their lives. However, for the Kanekes people, agriculture is usually used as a ritual to worship their beliefs, so it becomes local wisdom that is the forerunner to the food security of the Kanekes people. This research aims to determine local wisdom, a determining factor in Urang Kanekes (Baduy) food security, and its contribution to food security in Lebak Regency and Banten Province. Using a mix-method for a qualitative approach to Urang Kanekes' local wisdom, producing the central system of huma rice farming, which is stored in Leuit, is local wisdom that plays a role in food security, and apart from farming, he sells honey, durian, brown sugar, and becomes a tour guide who visits Kanekes. The quantitative approach uses regression with Lebak Regency and provincial-level data. First, panel data regression for 28 subdistricts in Lebak Regency for 12 months from 2020-2021 shows that Leuwidamar Subdistrict, where Urang Kanekes is located, has a higher rice stock than the average for other subdistricts in Lebak Regency, for every month throughout the year. Second, multiple regression was applied to 4 food indices (security, availability, affordability, and usefulness) with data from 8 regencies/cities in Banten Province between 2018-2021. The research results show that local wisdom through farming and storing it in barns is an essential pillar of food availability for a community, in this case, the Urang Kanekes community, where food security at the community level will contribute to subsequent levels up to the national level.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of product ratings, free shipping, and price discounts on men's clothing purchasing decisions at Shopee e-commerce in Bengkulu City. This research is quantitative. Research the population of consumers who have made purchasing decisions on the Shopee application. The sample in this research uses the Hair formula, namely n×5. This research has 24 indicators with 24×5=120 respondents, so the number of respondents is sufficient to represent the study population. Data was obtained from respondents filling out a questionnaire (Google Form) using purposive sampling as a sampling technique. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis and hypothesis testing t-test and F-test using SPSS 22 program tools. The results of the research show that: 1.) there is a significant influence of product assessment on the decision to purchase men's clothing at Shopee e-commerce in Bengkulu City; 2.) free shipping has a significant effect on purchasing decisions for men's clothing on Shopee e-commerce in Bengkulu City; 3.) price discounts influence the decision to purchase men's clothing on Shopee e-commerce in Bengkulu City; 4.) product evaluation, free shipping, and price discounts on men's clothing purchasing decisions on Shopee e-commerce in Bengkulu City together have a simultaneous influence.

Abstract

Rapid developments in the skincare industry have created increasingly fierce competition and require the development of effective marketing strategies. In this context, influencers are one of the strategies adopted to support marketing efforts in the industry. Therefore, this research aims to evaluate the main factors influencing Generation Z's buying interest in skincare products in Batam City. Data was collected through a questionnaire distributed to Generation Z, which is interested in skincare products as research objects and has 321 respondents. The data analysis method used is SmartPLS 3.0, with a quantitative analysis approach. The research results show that influencers who meet the criteria of attractiveness, expertise, social media influence, and EWOM influence the image of skincare brands. The image of the skincare brand also significantly influences Generation Z's buying interest in Batam City. The mediating role of brand image influences attractiveness, expertise, social media influence, and EWOM on purchase intention. However, there is a criterion for influencers, namely trustworthiness, which does not significantly influence the skincare brand's image. Apart from that, the role of skincare brand image does not influence trustworthiness on purchase intention.
