Data collection techniques in this study used observation sheets, questionnaires and test questions. The data analysis technique used   descriptive percentage, difference test (t-test) and improvement test (N-gain). The results of this study indicate the acquisition of a score of more than 4.3 with a maximum score of 5.0 which is in the high validity category. The average frequency of achieving character values in thematic learning based on local culture  is in the high category. Where all aspects of character values appear and are carried out by more than 80% of students in the class. Meanwhile, in the t-test of post-test results, the value of t count = 5.782 > t table = 1.998 and (p) count = 0 <0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in the value of learning achievement between the experimental group using the product developed and the control group. The results of the N gain test showed that the control group had an increase in the medium criteria and the experimental group had an increase in the high criteria so that it was concluded that the thematic learning tools based on local culture had a good level of effectiveness.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of online learning at SD 3 Wergu Wetan. This evaluative research uses the Stake model from the planning, implementation stages, and which is then linked to the online learning implementation guide from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Subjects were taken purposively consisting of principals, teachers, and students, as well as parents as measured by interviews, documentation, and observation. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results showed that in planning, the teacher emphasized the achievement of the main indicators, reading, writing, and arithmetic skills, using student worksheets. The implementation aspect, learning process uses WhatsApp, YouTube, and study groups. Parents and internet connections are critical success factors for online learning. Teachers need the training to create their own media. In the output aspect, the average score of students is good but students' abilities are not in accordance with the results achieved because the exam is done at home so that an online assessment is needed that students can do independently. Implementation of online learning has been going quite well and is included in the B category.

Abstract

This study aims to explain the importance of children's education in preventing ignorance. This study used a qualitative approach. As for the subjects of this research are Indonesian children who are in Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta school. This research was conducted online considering the Covid-19 pandemic is still engulfing Indonesia, so face-to-face via zoom and direct interviews were conducted.  The data analysis technique used was descriptive qualitative.  The results show that early childhood education is very important to prevent stupidity because children need to be given insight and understanding about the world of children. So that they are able to face their lives appropriately and are not affected by the currents of social life. Thus, this study showed that educational failures could result in ignorance for Indonesian children. The emergence of mass ignorance, of course, did not happen suddenly, but there was a cause to it. Experts stated that the mass ignorance is due to the lack of education, the lack of knowledge about science and technology and the laziness of some children. Therefore, the mass ignorance in children's education should be erased by giving necessary education to advance their thinking. Also, children's education must be positioned as the target of all educational endeavors because education aims to inculcate all aspects and values of a good life to prevent and reduce mass ignorance in Indonesia.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine 21st-century character education for Indonesian children through Sports Science which was implemented in the form of integration of physical education and character education in early childhood, especially through sports activities such as; pencak silat (martial arts), dance, outbound, and swimming. This study used a literature research method by adapting a literature study research model proposed by Mirshad (2014) which was carried out through four research steps, namely; 1) recording of all findings 2) integration of all findings 3) analysis of all findings, 4) criticism and collaboration. The instrument used was a data card where data were recorded by paraphrasing, quoting, and synoptic. Document Analysis was used for data analysis that focused more on analyzing factual content and media features. This study found several characters that appeared in four activities, namely; 1) pencak silat (martial arts) could increase the character values of piety, not giving up easily, responsibility, discipline, and self-confidence; 2) the art of dance fostered the character of honesty, cooperation, independence, self-confidence, piety, and discipline; and 3) outbound created the character of leadership, cooperation, and self-confidence; 4) swimming could increase the character values of courage, self-confidence, creativity, adaptation, and sensitivity. This character could grow and develop from each activity created in the four activities. It was recommended for parents to provide opportunities for their children to participate in sports activities such as; pencak silat (martial arts), dance, outbound, and swimming because these activities had been proven to increase positive character, where these activities were an integration of physical education as an academic discipline based on sports science.
