Abstract

This study aims to develop Gurindam Dua Belas teaching materials in the form of an E- Book in the Pancasila Education subject to improve students' Cross Culture Understanding knowledge at MTs Negeri Tanjungpinang. The background of this study is the suboptimal use of local wisdom in Pancasila Education learning and the low understanding of students towards cross-cultural values. This study uses the Hannafin and Peck research and development method, which includes three main stages: needs analysis, design, development and implementation, accompanied by evaluation at each stage. The research subjects involved students of MTs Negeri Tanjungpinang. Data collection techniques used expert validation questionnaires, student and teacher response questionnaires, and pretest and posttest tests to measure the increase in Cross Culture Understanding knowledge. Data were analyzed descriptively quantitatively and qualitatively. The results of the study showed that the Gurindam Dua Belas E-Book developed was declared valid by material and media experts, and practical based on student and teacher responses. The effectiveness test showed an increase in students' Cross Culture Understanding knowledge as indicated by a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores with a moderate increase category. Thus, it can be concluded that the Gurindam Dua Belas E-Book teaching material developed through the Hannafin and Peck model is suitable and effective for use as an alternative teaching material in the Pancasila Education subject to improve students' cross-cultural understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of civic literacy, civic understanding, and civic technology (civic tech) on students’ digital political participation. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. Data were collected through an online survey from students Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, selected using proportional stratified random sampling. The research instrument consisted of a five-point Likert scale. The validity of the instrument was tested using the Pearson Product-Moment correlation, while reliability was measured using Cronbach’s Alpha. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, including partial (t) tests, simultaneous (F) tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The findings show that civic literacy and civic technology has a positive and significant effect on students’ digital political participation, whereas civic understanding have positive but statistically insignificant effects. These findings emphasize the critical role of civic technology as a behavioral control factor (perceived behavioral control) within the framework of the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB). This study expands the application of TPB in the context of digital civic education and underscores the importance of integrating civic literacy, citizenship values, and civic tech competence to foster active and responsible digital citizens.

Abstract

Indonesia's cultural diversity is a wealth as well as a national identity that needs to be strengthened through education. One of the efforts made is through the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme of local wisdom in the Independent Curriculum. This study aims to analyze the implementation of P5 based on local wisdom in strengthening the character of global diversity in students at SMP Negeri 1 Ngoro Mojokerto. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The research informants consisted of school principals, P5 coordinating teachers, and students in grades VII and VIII. Data were analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model which included data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawn. The results of the study show that the implementation of P5 through exploration of local culture, cultural practices, creative creation, and participation in the Tapestry Festival is able to strengthen the global diversity character of students. This strengthening is reflected in the ability of students to know and appreciate local culture, be open to diversity, and develop communication and cooperation in project activities. Project-based learning that integrates local wisdom provides a contextual and meaningful learning experience for students. Thus, the implementation of P5 based on local wisdom can be an effective strategy in shaping the character of global diversity in students.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has brought fundamental changes in democratic practices and patterns of citizen involvement. This article aims to analyze digital civic engagement as a form of citizen involvement and the transformation from conventional to digital models in the context of Indonesian democracy. The study focuses on changes in the form of civic engagement; the role of social media and digital platforms as new public sphere; the challenges and opportunities of digital civic engagement; and implications for civic education. This article uses a qualitative approach, with a literature review and a conceptual analysis of relevant previous research, contextualized within the dynamics of democracy in Indonesia. The results of the study indicate that digital civic engagement offers opportunities to expand citizen involvement in a more inclusive, rapid, and interactive manner, especially for the younger generation. However, digital civic engagement practices also pose serious challenges, including the spread of disinformation, political polarization, low digital literacy, and a decline in the quality of public deliberation. This article also emphasizes that the transformation of civic engagement in the digital era has important implications for civic education. Civic education needs to adapt by integrating digital literacy, digital citizenship ethics and by strengthening citizens' critical thinking capacity. Thus, digital civic engagement is not only a means of political expression, but also contributes to strengthening the quality of democracy.

Abstract

The rapid development of the digital information ecosystem in the 21st century has opened pathways for misinformation and disinformation to circulate widely across societies, including in regions that remain peripheral to mainstream academic inquiry, such as Papua. As the fourth estate of democracy and a cornerstone of civic infrastructure, mass media carries substantial responsibility in maintaining the integrity of public information — a responsibility that weighs more heavily at the local level, where communities are disproportionately exposed to information disorders. This study examines the role and strategies of Jubi, a local media outlet based in Papua, in detecting, verifying, and countering misinformation and disinformation within the public sphere. Drawing on a qualitative case study design, data were gathered through in-depth interviews with field journalists, editors, and senior editorial staff at Jubi, alongside direct observation of newsroom practices and thematic analysis of published news documentation. Results indicated that Jubi maintains a consistent commitment to fact-checking and clarification as core mechanisms for ensuring informational accuracy. The study also found that audience emotion and psychological disposition constitute significant drivers in the spread of false information, making contextually grounded and socially sensitive journalistic approaches central to effective verification. These findings contribute to the growing literature on local journalism in eastern Indonesia and suggest that local media outlets are capable of functioning as agents of social mitigation amid the increasingly intricate challenges of today's information environment.

Abstract

This article examines the critical need for a Pancasila-oriented reconstruction of regulatory norms governing subsurface ownership and vertical land demarcation in Indonesia. Rapid urbanization and infrastructural development have exposed the inadequacy of the current two-dimensional land law framework, including the Basic Agrarian Law (UUPA) and Government Regulation No. 18/2021, which fail to provide measurable vertical boundaries, 3D cadastral registration, or clear allocation of underground space for public and private use. Using a normative juridical method with statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches, the study identifies gaps in legal certainty, institutional harmonization, environmental protection, and the safeguarding of customary and indigenous communities. The findings highlight the urgent need to establish measurable vertical property boundaries, a functional 3D cadastre, a distinct Right to Subsurface Space, harmonized institutional authority, environmental and social safeguards, and specialized dispute resolution mechanisms. Anchoring these reforms within the principles of Pancasila ensures equitable justice, participatory governance, and sustainable urban development. The study concludes that modernizing subsurface property regulation is essential for legal certainty, inclusive development, and the realization of agrarian justice in Indonesia’s three-dimensional spatial era.

Abstract

This study examines the potential of the metaverse as a learning environment to support the development of civic competence in the digital era. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted by analyzing 30 peer‑reviewed articles published between 2020 and 2025 discussing the use of metaverse, virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR) in educational contexts. The review followed structured procedures including database searching, article screening, data extraction, and narrative synthesis following PRISMA guidelines. The findings indicate that metaverse‑based learning environments have strong potential to enhance civic competence through increased engagement, collaboration, experiential learning, and digital participation. Immersive environments allow learners to explore social issues, interact with peers through avatars, and practice democratic participation within simulated contexts. However, challenges remain, including infrastructure costs, digital literacy gaps among educators, and unequal technological access. Collaboration among policymakers, educational institutions, and technology developers is necessary to ensure equitable and sustainable implementation. Future research should conduct empirical and longitudinal studies to examine the long‑term impact of metaverse‑based learning environments on civic competence development.

Abstract

Creativity is one of the essential competencies that should be developed from the early stages of education, including in Pancasila Education, which aims to cultivate students’ character, thinking abilities, and social skills. However, conventional teaching practices often limit students’ opportunities to explore ideas and express their creative potential. Therefore, an instructional model that encourages students’ active engagement in the learning process is required. This study aims to examine the effect of the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model on students’ creativity in Pancasila Education. The research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a one-group pretest–posttest design. The research subjects consisted of 22 students. The research instrument was a creativity test administered before and after the treatment. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics, a normality test, and a Paired Samples T-Test with IBM SPSS 25. The results indicate that the mean score increased from 40.00 in the pretest to 70.05 in the posttest, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the implementation of Project-Based Learning in Pancasila Education significantly influences the improvement of students’ creativity.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of Tri Hita Karana values in Pancasila Education learning to enhance the civic engagement of twelfth-grade students at SMA Negeri 1 Tabanan. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach involving Pancasila Education teachers and twelfth-grade students as the research subjects. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing, and verification. The findings indicate that the integration of the values of parahyangan, pawongan, and palemahan in the learning process is able to strengthen students’ religious, social, and ecological character. The implementation of these values is manifested through participatory, contextual, and experience-based learning activities, such as group discussions, value reflections, and environmental care programs. This approach has proven effective in encouraging students’ increased involvement in social activities, environmental awareness, and active participation in school life as forms of civic engagement. Although several challenges were identified, including limited instructional time, differences in students’ backgrounds, and teachers’ understanding of integrating local values, school support and the availability of learning resources serve as the main supporting factors. Overall, the implementation of Tri Hita Karana values is effective in shaping students’ attitudes and behaviors in accordance with Pancasila values.
