Abstract

The active substances contained in date extract such as flavonoids, steroids, phenols and saponins have an anti-diabetic function which is useful in controlling glycemic and fat in diabetes patients. Perimenopause is a poorly defined period of time that surrounds the final years of a woman's reproductive life, usually between the ages of 30 and 40. Insulin affects many hormones, including sex hormones (estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone). This hormonal imbalance can disrupt the balance of other hormones. In the basic principles of bioethics there are four aspects, namely beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy and justice. Maqashid Al Shariat contains 5 values, namely Hifz ad din, hifz an nafs, hifz al maal, hifz al nasl, and hifz al aql. In the perspective of Islamic jurisprudence, it consists of five rules, namely Al Ageu bi Maqashida, La dharara wa laa dirara,, Al masyaqqah tajlibut, Al yaqinu la yuzalu bi syaq, and Al adatu muhakkamah. A 46 year old woman G1P1A0 Gravid 34 weeks with a history of regular menstruation every month. Blood pressure 110/80 mmHg with BMI 30.24 (Obes 2). The results of the fasting blood sugar examination were found to be 130 mg/dl. The diagnosis in this patient is diabetes mellitus. The treatment given to this patient is a regulated eating pattern and implementation of a diet pattern. In the bioethical perspective, it fulfills the non-maleficence aspect, the principles of fiqh are Al iau bi maqashida, La dharara wa laa dirara, and Al adatu muhakkamah.

Abstract

Omega 3 fatty acids are known to have many benefits for human health, such as regulating lipid metabolism, treating hyperlipidemia, having anti-inflammatory function, increasing brain function and maintaining the body's immune system. Nowadays, among individuals who like to exercise, especially in the field of sports nutrition, omega 3 fatty acids are starting to become popular in their function of maintaining and increasing muscle mass because of their benefits in increasing muscle protein synthesis, reducing muscle damage (exercise-induced muscle damage) after physical exercise or during recovery after exercise so that it can maintain and increase muscle mass. This literature review deepens the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids which can potentially maintain or increase muscle mass. This literature review will discuss the mechanism by which omega 3 fatty acids influence muscle mass through cellular signaling pathways related to muscle protein synthesis which has an impact on a person's muscle mass. This literature review also discusses research results in healthy individuals, the elderly and individuals with chronic ilness. Although several studies show the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids regarding their potential to maintain and increase muscle mass. However, several research results show an insignificant effect of omega 3 fatty acids on muscle mass, causing the benefits of omega 3 fatty acids on muscle mass to continue to be a topic that will continue to be researched, some of the causes may be due to the duration of administration, different doses of administration, different type of omega 3 fatty acids given.

Abstract

Generic medicines are a type of medicine with an official name that has been assigned to the efficacious substance it contains. Generic medicines have the same effectiveness as patented medicines. Many people think that generic medicines are of low quality, so they prefer branded generic medicines or patented medicines. This systematic review aims to report the results of a search for previously reviewed studies that focus on the level of public knowledge and perception of generic medicines. The research method used is a literature study method using journal data from the last 10 years. Journal collection was carried out by searching online journal databases indexed in Google Scholar, and PubMed using Mesh (Medical Subject Headings) with a focus on the keywords "knowledge", "perception", and "generic medicines". The results of this research are that the level of Indonesian people's knowledge of generic medicines is quite good but not evenly distributed, especially among groups of people who have a strong belief that cheap medicines are of lower quality. Acceptance of generic medicines tends to be higher in communities with higher levels of education. Communities with low socio-economic conditions generally have a low level of education so they tend to have greater distrust of generic medicines. This research concludes that it is important to provide information about generic medicines aggressively and continuously to the public to increase public trust in generic medicines. In addition, prescribing generic medicines by physicians is the main thing to eliminate public distrust about generic medicines.

Abstract

Ajwa dates or often called prophet dates are types of dates that grow in Saudi Arabia / Al-Madinah Al-Munawara and have significant value in healing several diseases. The content of active substances contained in date extracts such as vitamins B1, B2, nicotinic acid, vitamin complex A, magnesium, calcium and iron which has a function to help the formation of hemoglobin. Perimenopause is an indefinite period of time that surrounds the final years of a woman's reproductive life, usually between the ages of 30-40 years when estrogen levels slowly decline causing menstrual abnormalities. The decrease in estrogen levels in perimenopausal women causes excessive blood loss so that iron deficiency anemia will occur. Objective : To determine the effect of consumption of ajwa dates (Pheonix Dactylifera L) on hemoglobin levels in perimenopausal women. Method : Literature Review with Design Narrative review. Results : Based on the results of research from several literatures that discuss the effects of giving Ajwa Dates (Phoenix Dactylifera L) before and after administration, it shows that there are differences in hemoglobin levels. Especially in perimenopausal women who are prone to iron deficiency anemia because Ajwa dates contain high iron, which increases hemoglobin levels. So it is highly recommended for consumption. Conclusion : Ajwa Dates (Phoenix Dactylifera L) can increase hemoglobin levels in perimenopausal women.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of nutritional interventions in addressing hypertension, considering aspects such as food consumption, dietary patterns, and other nutritional interventions. Through meta-analysis, the research seeks to consolidate findings from various previous studies to provide a stronger conclusion regarding the effectiveness of nutritional interventions on hypertension and to establish a foundation for the development of more effective nutritional intervention programs for the prevention and control of hypertension. The research methodology employs a meta-analysis approach and literature research to evaluate relevant journal articles on the topics of "Hypertension," "Blood Pressure," and "Nutrition." Article selection criteria include publication years from 2015 to 2023, written in Indonesian or English, and document types "article research" and "review literature," resulting in a final selection of 10 articles for the meta-analysis study. The study findings indicate that nutritional interventions, such as reducing salt intake and adopting the DASH diet, are effective in lowering blood pressure, especially in individuals at high risk of hypertension. Dietary fiber supplements and early-life interventions also prove to significantly benefit blood pressure management. Holistically, emphasis on healthy eating patterns, active lifestyles, and the use of technologies like mHealth can help address hypertension issues among at-risk populations.

Abstract

Endometriosis is a prevalent gynecological condition that affects around 10% of women within the reproductive age group globally. Recent research indicates that oxidative stress plays a significant role in the development of endometriosis. The present administration of progestin hormone treatment has been shown to induce additional oxidative stress, which is characterized by elevated levels of oxidative stress indicators, including malondialdehyde (MDA), and a reduction in the enzymatic antioxidant superoxide dismutase (SOD). The presence of hormonal imbalances in conjunction with these alterations fosters an environment conducive to the metastasis of endometrial cells. This process initiates inflammatory pathways, angiogenesis, and the formation of lesions and tumors, ultimately exacerbating the state of endometriosis. Research findings indicate that propolis has inherent antioxidant properties, characterized by a high concentration of flavonoid components and phenolic acids. Propolis contains active compounds that have the ability to trap free radicals by forming more stable molecules. Propolis has anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and immunomodulatory characteristics, hence potentially enhancing the patient's oxidative stress state, mitigating morbidity, and reducing the duration of hospitalization. This research aims to assess the possible impact of flavonoids found in propolis on the treatment of endometriosis.
