This research delves into Massoud Mohammed's philosophy and theory of human interpretation of history, his different analyzes and interpretations of history form an essential component of his comprehensive philosophical framework and fundamental criticism of Marxist ideology. The main objective is to examine Massoud Mohammed's analysis of the restoration of the role and position of man as an active engine of the movement of history and in turn to dismantle Marxist theory and interpretation of history. Addressing the main research questions: What are the ideologies that undermine the position and role of man in the movement of history? Abstract

This study explores the dynamic and diverse Islamic feminist movement, which aims to promote justice and gender equality by challenging patriarchal interpretations of Islamictexts and customs. Through the work of scholars such as Fatima Mernissi, this research highlights how Islamic feminism seeks to reinterpret Islamic theology and practice to uphold the rights and dignity of women. Using exploratory and historical qualitative methods, this research evaluates the significant contribution of Islamic feminists in challenging existing discourse and improving the status of women. This study examines the contributions of Islamic feminists in Morocco and the Arab world, focusing on their efforts to promote gender equality within an Islamic framework. by investigating Fatima Mernissi's work which emphasizes the need to re-read Islam's sacred texts and expose false and misogynistic hadith. Apart from that, the influence of Kecia Ali's thoughts in "Sexual Ethics and Islam" as well as the critical views of Asma Barlas, Leila Ahmed, and Amina Wadud regarding misinterpretations of the Koran enrich this research so that it provides a comprehensive view. She argues that Fatima Mernissi's works, by offering alternative readings of Islamic discourse on women, have advanced feminist debate and practice in the Arab world, enriching understanding of faith, gender, identity and culture in Islam.

Abstract

The twentieth century witnessed intense debates among Intellectuals of social sciences as they grappled with dichotomies such as East versus West, culture versus nature, religion versus atheism and orient versus occident. Within this discourse, heated debates emerged surrounding modern civilization and its global impact. The Western dominance, propelled by technological advancements, not only challenged the perceived superiority of Islam as a beacon of humanity but also necessitated a reorientation of its stance to meet contemporary demands. India was also fortunate to have Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, commonly known as Ali Miyan, who was a prolific writer, reformer, and political thinker. Through his books, travelogues, lectures, articles, seminar and conference papers, as well as his efforts in Da’wah and his movement of Payame Insaniyat, he tirelessly sought to counter the ideologies propagated by the West. In this paper, I aim to shed light on the revivalist endeavors championed by Ali Miyan Nadwi, aimed at countering Western modernity. Additionally, I would like to analyze the debates surrounding cultural differences, religious manifestations, and philosophical undercurrents and how this process inadvertently contributed to a state of chaos within Muslim society.

Abstract

This study examines the heyday of Islamic civilization in Andalusia and its influence on the rise of Europe through a historiographic approach. By highlighting the timeline of advanced civilization in Andalusia and the backward conditions in Christian Europe, this study shows how advances in education, culture, and scientific innovation in Andalusia, such as in Cordova, Granada, and Seville, have had a significant impact on Europe. By conducting a strategic analysis of figures who played a role in the Islamic civilization period in Andalusia, starting from invasions, glory, to decline. Using historical methods through primary sources from historical figures such as Philip Khuri Hitti and Reinhart Dozy, this study provides an in-depth picture of the transfer of science and culture from the Islamic world to Europe. This article reveals how the intellectual contributions of Islamic scholars in Andalusia from various fields of scholarship later became an inspiration and bridge to the revival of intellectual and cultural life in Europe during the Renaissance. Thus, this study offers a new perspective on the important role of Islamic civilization in forming the foundation for the rise of Europe.

Abstract

This study explores the formation of Lebanese national identity through anti-occupation resistance from 1978 to 2000, employing historical methodology with a multidisciplinary approach. It examines how resistance shaped Lebanon's collective consciousness, challenged sectarian divisions, and redefined its role regionally and globally. Using a combination of collective memory (Halbwachs), nationalism (Anderson), critical geopolitics (Toal), cultural trauma (Alexander), postcolonial theory (Said and Bhabha), and social movement theory (Tarrow and McAdam), the research analyzes the transformation of fear into resilience and the impact of the 2000 Israeli withdrawal on identity formation. The study highlights the dual nature of resistance culture, both unifying and challenging, and critically examines how shared trauma influences national identity. It addresses generational shifts in perceptions of resistance and focuses on long-term identity implications, offering a forward-looking perspective on Lebanon’s ongoing development. By integrating historical methods with insights from nationalism, social movements, and cultural studies, the research situates Lebanon’s resistance within broader regional and global dynamics, providing insights into asymmetric warfare and the role of non-state actors in international relations.

Abstract

This study discusses social institutions in the social, cultural, and economic advancement of transmigrant communities in the Durian Luncuk I Transmigration Settlement Unit (UPT) - Jangga Baru Village, Jambi Province, in the period 1983-2006. Transmigration in Durian Luncuk was carried out using the PIR (People's Core Plantation)-Special pattern, which received social guidance from the Department of Transmigration and Economics from PTPN VI Durian Luncuk. This study uses a historical method of heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. Primary data were obtained through interviews, written documents, and archives obtained from the Regional Library and the National Library, in the form of research report monographs, and newspaper articles. The results of the study indicate that social institutions, both formal and non-formal, such as farmer groups, KUD, markets, social gatherings, mosques, and art groups play an important role in improving the economic level, and socio-cultural advancement of transmigrant communities, in addition, social institutions also play a role in building harmonious interactions among heterogeneous transmigrants. In other words, social institutions are important capital in the success of the transmigration program.

Abstract

This article discusses Admiral Cheng Ho's visit to the Sundanese region, which coincided with the initial process of Islamization in West Java. This study highlights the role of Cheng Ho's expedition that is often overlooked in the spread of Islam in the archipelago, particularly in the Sunda region. The research uses historical research methods by collecting data obtained in libraries from various documentary sources such as books, journals, and relevant writings related to Islam and the global historical context. Although Admiral Cheng Ho's stopover at Muarajati Port lasted only seven days, it had a lasting cultural and religious impact. His entourage included Sheikh Hasanudin bin Yusuf Shidik who later became known as Sheikh Quro who introduced the teachings of the Qur'an to the locals. Cheng Ho's presence contributed to the development of various sectors including agriculture, trade, architecture, and cultural arts. Some of his followers even settled permanently by marrying the locals. This research contributes to filling the reference gap regarding the history of Islamization in the Sundanese region, especially the involvement of the Chinese Muslim community.

Abstract

Abstract

This article aims to analysis the management of productive waqf on Bimaristan al-Mansuri during the reign of Sultan al-Mansur Qalawun. This article is unique and interesting because no yet one has studied about bimaristan in terms of its funding. This article uses the historical method which consists of heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. The approaches and theories used are Islamic philanthropy and productive waqf theory from Mundzir Qahaf. The result of the discussion of this article is that Sultan al-Mansur Qalawun endowed his property in the Egypt and Levant regions in the form of agricultural land, water wells, markets, shops, inns, and baths which were managed using two methods, namely aqad al-ijara (lease contract) and aqad al-ijara al-'amal (lease contract by providing salary/wages). Interestingly, the number of its waqf actually increased in the period after the death of Sultan Qalawun. This was possible because the waqf was managed in a transparent manner, namely the tight separation of authority to manage the finances of the bimaristan between the party who issued the nominal amount of money expenditure (mubashir idara) and the party who disbursed the money expenditure (mubashir sunduq), making the occurrence of fraud and corruption from the bimaristan employees to be minimized, allowing Bimaristan al-Mansuri can be operate to carry out its function as a hospital for centuries.
