Abstract

This study examines the impact of macroeconomic variables—namely inflation and exchange rates—on Indonesian gold spot prices from 1995 to 2018, employing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model. The study seeks to comprehend the short-term and long-term correlations among these variables. Time series data were obtained from the Indonesian Central Statistics Agency, Index Mundi, and the Gold Price Chart. The findings indicate that, in the near term, inflation negatively and significantly affects gold prices, however, in the long term, it positively and significantly influences them. Likewise, the exchange rate exerts a substantial and adverse impact in both the short and long run, suggesting that a stronger Rupiah generally elevates gold prices. The ARDL model validates the existence of a cointegrated relationship among the variables, corroborated by the limits testing methodology. Diagnostic assessments confirm the stability and reliability of the calculated model. These findings indicate that the regulation of inflation and exchange rates is essential for maintaining gold price stability in Indonesia.

Abstract

The prevalence of children with disabilities in Indonesia is very high. According to the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the number of children with disabilities reached 1.6 million in 2018 and increased to 22.5 million in 2020. These children require an appropriate educational approach, but the implementation of inclusive education still faces challenges. This study evaluates the implementation of inclusive education and the factors influencing the success of curriculum modification interventions. Using a literature review method, 65 articles were identified, and 10 articles met the inclusion criteria and were evaluated. The results show some successes in inclusive education but also challenges such as government preparedness, educational institutions, inadequate regulations, and insufficient infrastructure. The success of curriculum modification interventions depends on teachers' understanding of children's needs and support from the government and society. Inclusive education requires serious and collaborative efforts, including the expansion of government regulations, improvement of human resource management, and partnerships with external stakeholders. An adaptive curriculum model could be an innovative solution to better meet the learning needs of children with disabilities.

Abstract

This research explored the effectiveness of the Listen, Repeat, and Trace technique in enhancing students' English vocabularies. Employing the Collaborative Classroom Action Research, the researchers conducted this study in two cycles using pre- and post-tests to assess students’ vocabularies enhancement. Each cycle consisted of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages to investigate all 31 students at the eighth grade of one high school in Jambi Province, Indonesia. The results revealed a significant improvement of learners’ English vocabularies after they received the LRT treatment technique. Moreover, the average score from both post-test in cycle 1 and cycle 2 significantly increased. The mean score of cycle 1 was 74.36 (14 students or 46% who passed Minimum Mastery Criterion), while in cycle 2 was 85.32 (25 students or 81 % who passed Minimum Mastery Criterion). This technique offered a pedagogical approach that goes beyond traditional rote memorization methods, providing students with a dynamic and engaging learning experience. Ultimately, the LRT technique promoted a positive learning environment by fostering student engagement and motivation. The interactive nature of the technique encouraged active participation and collaboration among students leading to better language learning experience. Thus, the educators are expected to implement the LRT technique as an innovative strategy to promote vocabulary development and enrich language learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyse business models using AI to enhance education in beauty salon entrepreneurship over Surabaya, East Java, Indonesia. Here, the data observation is taken from a famous beauty salon group at Surabaya with three service products such as Make Up, Hair Treatment, and Facial. The daily basis data from customers who use three products was analysed to obtain an estimation value of each service product. In this study, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) method is performed to find an estimation value with Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) architecture with two to three variation hidden layers. The Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation algorithm is also used to obtain RMSE over training value. The result shows the three products Make Up, Hair Treatment, and Facial were compared by customer basis over famous beauty salon group, Surabaya. Here, The ANN model with four hidden layers MLP architecture with 1000 iterations in the training process. The statistical calculation such as MSE of 172, RMSE of 0.812, MAE of 1.234, and MAPE of 3.123% indicate that the model performs exceptionally well, with minimal errors in predictions, respectively. ANN model is proposed to develop a business intelligence system in the near future in beauty salon entrepreneurship

Abstract

Learning Islamic Cultural History (ISH) plays an important role in shaping students' understanding of history and Islamic values. However, conventional methods that are still dominant hinder students' active involvement. This study aims to analyze relevant and effective active learning strategies in the context of ISH learning. The method used is a literature study with a qualitative descriptive approach, examining various strategies such as group discussions, role play, mind mapping, and active knowledge sharing. The results of the study indicate that active learning strategies can increase learning motivation, understanding of the material, and strengthening students' character. However, its implementation faces a number of obstacles such as limited teacher competence, facilities and infrastructure, and limited learning time. Therefore, teacher training, school management support, and the development of innovative media are needed as solutions. Active learning strategies have been shown to provide a more contextual and transformative approach to ISH learning, in line with the goals of holistic Islamic education.
