Abstract

This study aims to analyse the determinants and dynamics of Indonesian bank credit growth after the pandemic, focusing on monetary-policy transmission and the moderating role of capital buffer. Using an explanatory quantitative approach, quarterly panel data of 47 commercial banks (Q12020 – Q22025) were estimated with two-step System Generalized Method of Moments (System-GMM). Results show that credit growth exhibits negative dynamic persistence, capital buffer has a significant positive effect, while profitability and macroeconomic variables are insignificant. The central finding is a significantly negative interaction between capital buffer and the BI Rate, validating a capital-hoarding mechanism: well-capitalised banks restrain credit expansion when the policy rate rises. The results are robust to alternative specifications and instrument-validity tests. The study contributes a “Conditional Bank Lending” framework and recommends a dual-speed monetary transmission approach and a more responsive countercyclical capital buffer.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between digital investment decisions and performance-based funding in strengthening smart governance in Makassar City. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a public policy case study approach, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis of digital governance programs such as Makassar Sombere & Smart City and the Command Center. The findings indicate that digital investment decisions have a positive impact on enhancing transparency and efficiency in public services, although challenges remain due to a predominantly top-down decision-making process and limited inter-agency system integration. Performance-based funding has improved budget accountability, yet performance indicators remain focused on administrative outputs rather than service outcomes. The synergy between digital investment and performance-based funding strengthens the effectiveness of smart governance through data-driven supervision and participatory management. The study recommends reinforcing evidence-based decision-making mechanisms, improving digital competency among civil servants, and developing outcome-based evaluation systems to achieve sustainable smart governance in Makassar City.

Abstract

The This study aims to analyze the influence of human resource (HR) competencies on organizational financial performance both directly and indirectly through the Accounting Information System (SIA) at the Gowa Regency DPRD Secretariat Office. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data was collected through the distribution of questionnaires to 45 respondents who are apparatus involved in the organization's financial management. Data analysis was carried out using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) method with the help of SmartPLS 3 software. The results of the study show that human resource competence has a positive and significant effect on the financial performance of the organization. In addition, human resource competence also has a positive and significant effect on the Accounting Information System. Furthermore, the Accounting Information System has been proven to have a positive and significant effect on the financial performance of the organization. The results of the indirect influence test show that the Accounting Information System is able to mediate the influence of human resource competencies on the organization's financial performance. These findings indicate that improving the competence of the apparatus, especially in terms of knowledge, skills, and work attitudes, is very important in supporting the implementation of an effective Accounting Information System to improve the financial performance of the organization. This research provides practical implications for managers of public sector organizations to focus policies on developing human resource competencies and strengthening accounting information systems in an integrated manner to realize transparent and accountable financial management

Abstract

This study explores how the economic participation of children with special needs (CSN) creates transformative mechanisms within the social sphere of Makassar City. Using an interpretative phenomenological approach, I conducted in-depth interviews with 19 informants (7 CSN entrepreneurs, 5 family members, 4 business actors/consumers, and 3 institutional representatives) between March and July 2024. The IPA analysis identified four key themes: (1) the economic domain as an arena for negotiating social identity shifting the label from “pitiable disabled individuals” to “competent economic actors”; (2) sophisticated economic adaptation strategies that foster technical innovation and mobilize social capital; (3) repeated economic interactions that gradually transform public social perceptions, though often generating ambivalent attitudes; and (4) the reinterpretation of the cultural values of siri’ and pacce’ within economic activities, which play an ambivalent role in promoting social inclusion. The findings reveal that economic access not only enhances the financial independence of CSN but, more fundamentally, functions as a mechanism for social acceptance and recognition of their existence in public spaces. Nevertheless, the observed inclusion remains tokenistic—CSN are accepted within the economic space while their social positioning remains marginal. Intersectional analysis further uncovers compounded socio-economic barriers for female CSN (a double disadvantage), while younger generations benefit from the gradual shift in social norms. This study contributes by demonstrating that economic inclusion serves as an alternative pathway toward broader social inclusion, emphasizing the need for a paradigm shift from charity-based to rights-based economic participation to achieve genuine social acceptance.

Abstract

Government efficiency policies have significantly affected the hospitality industry, particularly hotels that rely on government-related market segments such as Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE), thereby requiring adaptive and strategic human resource management (HRM). However, empirical studies that specifically examine how HRM strategies are practically implemented in response to government efficiency policies remain limited, especially within the context of the hospitality industry in Bali. This study aims to analyze the human resource management strategies implemented by Swiss-Belhotel Rainforest Kuta – Bali in responding to government efficiency policies and to examine adaptive HRM practices in sustaining organizational performance under external pressures. This research employs a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study method. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with management and employees, direct observation of hotel operational activities, and analysis of supporting documents. Data analysis was conducted using NVivo 14 to identify themes, patterns, and adaptive HRM strategies. The findings reveal that government efficiency policies resulted in a decline in demand from government market segments, particularly MICE activities. In response, management implemented HRM strategies based on Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the Resource-Based View (RBV), including multiskilling training, flexible work scheduling, cross-departmental collaboration, and workload optimization. These strategies were supported by transparent internal communication and supportive leadership, enabling the hotel to maintain organizational performance and operational sustainability amid external pressures.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of spiritual leadership and organizational commitment in improving the performance of cooperatives in Makassar City. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation from several active cooperatives in the region. The results indicate that spiritual leadership emphasizing honesty, integrity, empathy, and responsibility positively influences the development of organizational commitment. Leaders with spiritual orientation are able to instill a sense of meaning, loyalty, and active participation among members, thereby enhancing cooperative performance in both financial and social aspects. Organizational commitment, particularly affective and normative commitment, was found to strengthen members’ sense of belonging and engagement within the cooperative. Furthermore, local cultural values such as siri’ na pacce (self-respect and compassion) reinforce the implementation of spiritual leadership in the Makassar context. Therefore, integrating spiritual leadership with organizational commitment can serve as an effective strategy to achieve sustainable cooperative performance.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of entrepreneurial literacy on Social Entrepreneurship Orientation (SEO) among students at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Negeri Makassar. This research adopted a quantitative explanatory approach using a survey method involving 245 students selected through proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) to examine the relationship between entrepreneurial literacy and three dimensions of SEO: social innovation, proactiveness, and risk-taking. The results indicate that entrepreneurial literacy has a positive and significant effect on all dimensions of social entrepreneurship orientation. The social innovation dimension recorded the strongest influence, while risk-taking had the lowest. This suggests that while literacy equips students with innovative capabilities, psychological barriers to social risk still require more profound curricular intervention. These findings provide strategic implications for higher education administrators, particularly within teacher education based universities (LPTK), to redesign entrepreneurship curricula that are not only profit-oriented but also emphasize social risk mitigation and hybrid value creation. This study provides new empirical evidence regarding the role of literacy in shaping SEO within the context of education based universities in Eastern Indonesia.

Abstract

The data collection techniques that researchers use in this study are observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. As a population, all employees at CV. Karya Kita Mandiri. In order for this research to be precise and proportional, in this study saturated sampling was used where population members were sampled. Thus the number of samples in this study were 52 people. The results of this study indicate that (1) Job Satisfaction Variable (X1) has a partial effect on employee performance at CV. Karya Kita Mandiri with tcount> ttable (4.889> 2.008) and significant <0.05 (0.000 <0.05). (2) Compensation variable (X2) has no partial effect on employee performance at CV. Karya Kita Mandiri with the results of tcount < ttable (0.223 < 2.008) and significant > 0.05 (0.824 > 0.05). (3) Job Satisfaction and Compensation simultaneously affect employee performance at CV. Karya Kita Mandiri with Fcount> Ftable (31.162> 3.18) and significant <0.05 (0.000 <0.05). (4) The value of R2 = 0.564 means that the influence of the variables Job Satisfaction (X1) and Compensation (X2) on employee performance (Y) is 56%. While the remaining 44% is influenced by other variables not included in this study such as leadership style, work environment, work discipline, work motivation, etc.

Abstract

The rapid diffusion of generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), such as ChatGPT, has reshaped students’ academic practices, primarily due to its perceived ability to enhance efficiency and learning productivity. Nevertheless, high perceived usefulness may also increase the risk of unethical academic use when students lack adequate awareness of academic integrity. Grounded in the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and an intention-based perspective, this study examines the effect of perceived usefulness of generative AI on students’ ethical AI use intention, with academic integrity awareness positioned as a mediating mechanism. A quantitative explanatory design was employed using an online survey targeting higher-education students who have used GenAI for academic purposes. Respondents were selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using SEM-PLS (SmartPLS), applying bootstrapping to test direct effects and mediation simultaneously. The results indicate that perceived usefulness positively and significantly predicts academic integrity awareness and ethical AI use intention. Academic integrity awareness also has a positive and significant effect on ethical AI use intention. Indirect-effect testing confirms a significant mediating role of academic integrity awareness in the relationship between perceived usefulness and ethical AI use intention, suggesting partial mediation. These findings imply that ethical GenAI use is not driven by perceived usefulness alone; it also depends on students’ internalized academic integrity awareness. Practically, higher-education institutions should strengthen ethical literacy, institutional policies, and governance frameworks for GenAI to ensure effective yet responsible adoption.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kinerja kepemimpinan dan budaya data terhadap kinerja organisasi, dengan peran mediasi kualitas perencanaan strategis di Kantor Pelayanan Investasi dan Terpadu Satu Pintu (DPM-PTSP). Latar belakang penelitian ini didasarkan pada pentingnya penguatan manajemen kinerja di sektor publik, di mana organisasi dituntut tidak hanya menghasilkan hasil pelayanan tetapi juga menunjukkan akuntabilitas dan perencanaan berbasis data. Kepemimpinan kinerja dan budaya data dipandang sebagai faktor kunci yang dapat mendorong kualitas perencanaan dan pada akhirnya meningkatkan kinerja organisasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksploratif. Data dikumpulkan melalui penyebaran kuesioner kepada pegawai negeri sipil yang terlibat dalam proses perencanaan, implementasi, dan evaluasi kinerja organisasi. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan metode Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepemimpinan kinerja dan budaya data memiliki pengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kualitas perencanaan strategis serta kinerja organisasi. Kualitas perencanaan strategis juga terbukti memiliki pengaruh positif terhadap kinerja organisasi dan bertindak sebagai mediator dalam hubungan antara kinerja kepemimpinan dan budaya data dengan kinerja organisasi. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kinerja organisasi publik memerlukan integrasi antara kepemimpinan yang berorientasi pada kinerja, budaya kerja berbasis data, dan perencanaan strategis yang berkualitas. Implikasi dari studi ini menegaskan pentingnya penguatan praktik manajemen kinerja dan tata kelola berbasis data dalam organisasi publik untuk mendorong kinerja yang lebih efektif, terukur, dan akuntabel.
