FOCUS AND SCOPE Enggang adalah jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Enggang dipilih sebagai nama jurnal ini karena kehidupan masyarakat Kalimantan Tengah tidak jauh dari alam, termasuk kedekatannya pada burung yang bernama enggang. Burung enggang merupakan simbol kebesaran dan kemuliaan suku Dayak di Kalimantan Tengah. Burung enggang juga melambangkan perdamaian dan persatuan, sayapnya yang tebal melambangkan pemimpin yang selalu melindungi rakyatnya. Ekor panjangnya dianggap sebagai tanda kemakmuran rakyat suku Dayak. Kaitannya dengan jurnal ini, tidak lain adalah mengambil makna filosofis kebesaran burung enggang agar jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya ini, nantinya menjadi besar yang akan dikenal secara lokal, nasional, dan internasional. Jurnal Enggang sebagai jurnal pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya merupakan salah satu wadah untuk mengumpulkan dan melestarikan kekayaan kita yang tidak ternilai harganya. Tentunya kekayaan yang berhubungan dengan pendidikan bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Jurnal ini hadir untuk siapa saja yang mencintai dan ingin berkarya di bidang pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya. Selain itu, kami sebagai pengurus jurnal ini bersedia memberikan bimbingan dan pelatihan untuk siapa saja yang ingin maju dan berkompeten dalam hal menulis karya fiksi maupun nonfiksi. Melalui bimbingan dan pelatihan pasti gairah menulis para calon pendidik, para pendidik, dan para pecinta pendidikan, bahasa, sastra, seni, dan budaya bangkit dengan semangat membara. Based on public opinion which states that the international curriculum is better than the national curriculum, so many parents pay more to send their children to private schools with international labels even though they have to spend a lot of money. This is caused by the presence of several factors into consideration for parents. For example, student learning factors that put them into various exams and memorization system, while in the international curriculum at the elementary level, students are more emphasized on a deep understanding of the phenomena and lessons that students want to know without worrying about the final result in the form of grades. That is why the government is trying to fix the world of education by changing the curriculum system from KTSP to the 2013 Curriculum, where the 2013 curriculum system has several things that are considered to slightly adopt the existing system in the international curriculum. Based on this, the author wants to find out more about the differences and agreements between the 2013 Curriculum and the IB Curriculum. This study uses a comparative descriptive method with a qualitative approach. This study aims to describe the differences and similarities between the National Curriculum (2013) and the International Curriculum (IB-PYP). The results of the study showed that there were significant differences between the two curricula. Where the National Curriculum (2013) places more emphasis on the content of lessons and final results, while the International Curriculum (IB-PYP) places more emphasis on student character towards the process and understanding of each subject.

This study aims to describe the representation of indigenous women and gender inequality in the film Bumi Manusia and aims to add to being a reference for students in identifying, describing, analyzing, and motivating in studying film analysis in the form of review text to achieve the learning objectives listed in the 2013 curriculum. The method used is a qualitative inductive method for the purpose of building understanding in meaning. The qualitative approach is primarily aimed at exploring, describing, and explaining. Based on the collected data, eight indigenous representations and gender inequality of women were found in the film Bumi Manusia. The results of this study also show that the representation of indigenous women and gender inequality contained in the short story is still quite relevant to today's life.

This study discusses social aspects in Tereliye's novel Bumi. The purpose of this study is to describe the social aspects of Tere Liye's novel Bumi. This study uses a literary sociology approach to examine literary works related to the social aspects contained therein. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The data source for this research is the novel Bumi by Tereliye. The technique of this research is reading technique and note taking technique. Data analysis was obtained through five stages of analysis, namely reading, identifying, recording, describing and concluding. The results of the study show that there are three social aspects contained in the Bumi novel, namely cultural aspects in the form of norms, historical symbols and general views on life shared by members of a society. While the social environmental aspects are in the form of social relations, profession and crime, the economic aspects are in the form of income and lifestyle.

The reinvention of Mite Putri Mayang as a form of development of Dayak Maanyan oral literature in East Barito Regency is a form of innovation to revive the meaning of each story in it through the form of a short story. This research aims to create the Putri Mayang myth as a form of developing Dayak Maanyan folklore in East Barito Regency through short story writing. The research method used is the Participatory Planning and Research (PPR) research method, data analysis is carried out in a qualitative descriptive manner, so that the presentation only takes the form of an explanation in the form of words. Data collection was carried out by determining the research object, the material object was the oral literature myth of Putri Mayang, while the formal object was Ruth Finnegan's oral literature theory. Search for data in two ways, namely literature and field. The results of research regarding the Putri Mayang myth of the Dayak Maanyan tribe in East Barito Regency, it can be concluded that this story reflects local leadership without highlighting the superiority of the Banjaran or the inferiority of the Kedayakan. Putri Mayang Sari's leadership focuses on people's welfare, food security, and the implementation of the traditional Dayak Maanyan government system. This mythical story also contains religiosity, social, political and economic values in ritual practices, inter-religious tolerance, an inclusive government system, and an emphasis on food security in the Maanyan Dayak community. The process of recreating the short story Putri Mayang shows creative efforts in reinterpreting the myth. Even though there are variations in interpretation, some short stories are still tied to the setting and characters of the original myth. For example, "Parang Maya" carries regional values while giving a contemporary touch. The creation of short stories is a refreshing form of creativity in the cultural heritage of the Dayak Maanyan people.

This study aims to describe the various types of presuppositions contained in the video “Eksklusif: Ganjar Pranowo dan Piala Dunia” in Mata Najwa. This study used qualitative descriptive, namely a study which obtains data by providing an explanation or description of the situation or condition under study in the form of a description. The data in this study were in the form of utterances stated in the video Eksklusif: Ganjar Pranowo dan Piala Dunia” in Mata Najwa. Data were collected by observing and note-taking. Having collected and classified according to the type of presupposition, the data were analyzed using presupposition theory. The results of the study showed that there were 43 presupposition data in the video “Eksklusif: Ganjar Pranowo dan Piala Dunia” in Mata Najwa. The data consist of 17 existential presupposition data, 4 inactive presupposition data, 6 lexical presupposition data, 11 structural presupposition data, 2 non-factive presupposition data and 3 counterfactual presupposition data.

Reading has a big effect on students' ability to accept subject matter, especially text-based learning, students who are unable to read well will have difficulty participating in learning activities for all subjects. This study aims to improve the process and skills of beginning reading through the use of syllable card media for first grade students at Public Elementary School 12 Pahambek. This type of research is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subjects of this study were 10 students in class I at 12 Pahambek Public Elementary School. The object of research is the improvement of beginning reading skills. This research was conducted in two cycles with each cycle consisting of two meetings. Data collection techniques using observation and tests. Data analysis techniques using descriptive quantitative and qualitative descriptive analysis. The results of the study showed that early reading skills through the use of syllable card media in grade I students at SD Negeri 12 Pahambek experienced a good improvement. This is evident from the average achievement in the pre-action percentage of 37.48%, in cycle I increased to 54.66% and in cycle II to 84.19%. Thus the results of this second cycle have fulfilled the predetermined action success criteria.

This research was carried out based on the curiosity of researchers towards Stalistic Analysis in a short story by Eka Kurniawan entitled "Kitchen Curse". The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method. The purpose of this study is to find out which language styles are contained in the short story "Kitchen Curse" by Eka Kurniawan. The research technique that researchers use is literature study. Literature study is done by reading various library materials that are closely related to the problem to be studied. Through a stylistic approach, the author examines some of the phenomena mentioned above, especially those related to human life events. The results of this study found four language styles in the short story entitled "Kitchen Curses" The language styles are, opposing language style, comparative language style, linking language style, and repetition language style.

In learning vocabulary, many media are used. One of the media that can be used is the use of Word Wall. The study aimed to find out the impact of using Word Wall in teaching vocabulary on the students’ vocabulary achievement. The researcher used a quasi-experimental approach with a quantitative approach in this research, which aimed to find out the impact of using Word Wall in teaching vocabulary on the students’ vocabulary achievement. The population was tenth-grade students of a Public Senior High School in West Surabaya and 66 students as research samples taken by cluster random sampling. The results of the calculations showed the impact of using Word Wall in teaching vocabulary on the students’ vocabulary achievement. Researcher measured its effectiveness by using t-test and t-table calculations which showed the t-test result was higher than t-table which was 2,51 > 1,99773. From the increase in scores in the experimental class before the treatment by using Word Wall (Mean = 72,12) and after the treatment (Mean = 90,73). Also from the difference in results between the experimental and admin classes. Furthermore, from the resulting effects, it can be concluded that the language barrier is working in grade 10 public high schools in West Surabaya.

Speech acts are utterances made as part of social interaction. A speech act is an utterance of a sentence to state so that a speaker’s intention can be known by the listener. This study aims to analyze persuasive speech strategies in the podcast entitled Maudy Ayunda’s life hack learning and exam on the Howto? As well as finding persuasive (inviting) speech acts in the podcast. This study uses qualitative research with descriptive methods. This technique is used to observe the speech delivered by Maudy Ayunda which will be analyzed by researchers. The results of this study indicate that there are persuasive (inviting) speech acts so that the audience can take part in the lifehack conducted by Maudy Ayunda in studying and exams.Maudy Ayunda’s delivery strategy was persuasive (invitation) when she tried to convince through expressions and facial expressions that seemed to convince listeners and spectators to be able to follow the way she studied and faced exams.

This research aims to develop and produce a product in the form of a feasible, practical and effective E-Module. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the 4D development model (Define, Design, Development, Disseminate). The subjects in this study were material expert, media professional, education practitioners, and students of class V-B SD Negeri 104186 Tanjung Selamat. The object of this research is the E-Module using the Sigil application. The results showed that: (1) the feasibility of the E-Module was assessed by material experts with a percentage of 86.67%, and media experts with a percentage of 93%. (2) the practicality of the E-Module assessed by educational practitioners gets a percentage of 94%. (3) the effectiveness of the E-Module is assessed from the test results and student response questionnaires. The test results got a percentage of 83.40%, and the results of the student response questionnaire got a percentage of 96.65%. So it can be concluded that the E-Module using the Sigil application that was developed is declared feasible, practical, and effective for use in learning activities.
