Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of collaborative methods in increasing the creativity of grade VII students of MTs Hasyim Asy'ari Kedungmegarih in writing procedural texts. Adopting a descriptive qualitative approach with a case study strategy, data was collected through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of student assignment documentation. The results of the study showed that the collaborative method was proven to be successful in increasing students' creativity, indicated by a significant increase in the activeness of discussion, divergent thinking skills, and effective collaboration between group members when drafting procedural texts. A clear division of roles in groups helps optimize the individual potential of students. However, challenges such as disparities in participation and group time management remain of note. Fundamentally, these findings reinforce the urgency of transitioning the learning paradigm from teacher-centered to student-centered, encouraging the exploration of original ideas, developing 21st century skills, and realizing more contextual and meaningful Indonesian learning.

Abstract

This study explores the role of student representatives in decision-making within the framework of School-Based Management (SBM) at MAS Al-Washliyyah 22 Tembung, located in Medan, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. Participants included two student representatives, three teachers, and two students selected purposively to represent diverse perspectives. The findings reveal that student representatives play a significant role in promoting exemplary leadership, facilitating effective communication between stakeholders, and providing inclusive spaces for discussion. These three aspects are fundamental in supporting collaborative decision-making and ensuring that student voices are meaningfully integrated into school governance. The presence of structured mechanisms such as Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) further enhances the effectiveness and transparency of student-related decisions. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of participatory leadership practices in religious educational institutions and highlights the importance of empowering students in shaping a more democratic and responsive school environment. It is recommended that other madrasahs consider formalizing student participation in decision-making to foster school improvement and student engagement.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and describe customs of marriage in the Toba Batak people, in particular the stages of implementation, values contained in the culture, as well as changes that occur as a consequence of the influence of modernization. The methods used is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews, and literature study. Research results show that the customs of Toba Batak weddings consist of a number of important stages, such as mangarisik, marhata sinamot, pamasu-masuon, and the party show. Each stage contains strong social, religious, and kinship values, as well as confirms the social structure of the Toba Batak people, especially the clan system. However, modernization and shifts in society cause a number of customary stages to be simplified or abandoned. This research concludes that although the customs of Toba Batak marriage are still preserved, there is a transformation in meaning and practice as a form of adaptation to contemporary socio-cultural dynamics.

Abstract

The School Operational Assistance (BOS) Fund serves as one of the primary fiscal instruments in Indonesia to support the operational needs of public schools. This study aims to evaluate the implementation of accountability and transparency principles in BOS fund management based on a comprehensive literature review of relevant studies and government regulations over the past decade. The findings reveal that while schools have generally complied with accountability standards such as budgeting, reporting, and internal oversight mechanisms, the implementation of transparency remains inconsistent. Limitations in information dissemination, financial literacy, and stakeholder engagement have hindered broader public monitoring and trust. This study concludes that enhancing the capacity of school financial managers, establishing accessible and inclusive information systems, and reinforcing community participation are strategic efforts needed to improve BOS fund governance. These findings are expected to inform future education finance policies aimed at achieving more accountable and transparent school financial systems.

Abstract

Academic Information System (AIS) is an important element in supporting efficient, structured, and transparent academic data management in higher education institutions, including Islamic Religious Colleges (PTKI). This study aims to analyze the AIS management strategy at the State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Curup in four main dimensions, namely planning, implementation, evaluation, and follow-up. The research method used is qualitative with a case study approach. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, direct observation, and documentation of 50 informants consisting of heads of study programs and administrative staff from various faculties. The results of the study indicate that there are still weaknesses in strategic planning, uneven implementation in terms of infrastructure and human resource competencies, and an evaluation process that is not yet based on standardized performance indicators. On the other hand, the follow-up to the evaluation is still partial and less systematic. These findings emphasize the need to optimize the AIS management system through a data-based approach and integration between human, technology, and process components. This study provides a strategic contribution to the development of a more responsive and adaptive AIS in the PTKI environment.

Abstract

Educational investment as part of human capital development is a crucial strategy in increasing competitiveness and driving economic growth of a nation. However, in developing countries like Indonesia, there is still a gap between theory and practice, particularly in the effectiveness of implementing education financing models. This study aims to formulate a relevant human capital- based education financing model capable of driving inclusive and sustainable economic growth. Using a systematic literature study approach to scientific publications and national-international policy documents over the past decade (2014–2024), it was found that education financing schemes focused on improving the quality of human resources have a positive impact on labor productivity and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth. The findings demonstrate the importance of implementing outcome-based budgeting, diversifying funding sources, and cross-sector synergy in formulating education financing policies. The proposed conceptual model positions human resource quality as the main indicator of the effectiveness of education investment. In conclusion, education financing strategies must be designed contextually, collaboratively, and output-oriented to encourage inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

Oral corrective feedback (OCF) plays an important role in helping to develop students’ speaking skills in the EFL classroom. In practice, the application of OCF varies depending on teaching style and classroom conditions. This research investigates the types and implementations of OCF by seventh-grade English teachers in a private school, MTs NU Mranggen, in teaching speaking skills. This qualitative single case study used observation and semi-structured interviews. The results showed that teachers used three types of OCF: rephrasing, explicit correction, and request for clarification, with rephrasing being the most frequently used as it allowed teachers to correct errors without interrupting the interaction process. In addition, OCF often appeared at the main activity stage, especially when students interacted with the teacher. Based on the findings, it is suggested that teachers use OCF techniques in a more planned way to improve students’ speaking ability in the EFL classroom.
