Abstract

This article presents a community service initiative aimed at enhancing the financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills of Indonesian migrant workers in Malaysia, contributing to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of No Poverty (SDG 1) and Quality Education (SDG 4). Migrant workers often face significant barriers, including limited financial literacy and access to entrepreneurial opportunities, which hinder their socioeconomic advancement. The initiative, executed through a webinar titled "Unlocking Success: Financial Literacy & Entrepreneurial Empowerment", provided essential knowledge on personal financial management, entrepreneurial opportunities, and personal branding. The webinar featured expert speakers from Universiti Teknologi Mara Malaysia and Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ). The event's success was reflected in positive participant feedback, although suggestions for future improvements included extended speaker interaction, language support, and alternative scheduling. The initiative underscores the importance of targeted interventions to empower migrant workers, enabling them to overcome socioeconomic challenges and contribute to sustainable development

Abstract

Higher education institutions are under increasing pressure to produce globally competitive graduates by significantly increasing their research output and scientific publications, thus strengthening and enhancing their academic reputation and social impact. Yet, lecturers and students at the service location must gain skills in research-supporting software, scientific writing, and literature searching. Therefore, the State University of Jakarta and the University Malaysia Sabah jointly organize a research boot camp to address the rising demand for research competence and international publications in higher education by equipping participants with essential research skills. The Research Bootcamp Training aims to enhance research competency among students by providing online training in accessing indexed journals, paraphrasing, grammar checking, and reference management using relevant software. This program seeks to assist students at partner institutions in writing and publishing academic articles. With this activity, more students can publish their scientific work in national and international journals indexed by Scopus and Web of Science, thus improving the quality of research in Indonesia. In addition, this activity is expected to encourage the birth of a generation of young researchers who are productive and able to produce quality scientific works relevant to current problems

Abstract

The learning process is not just a knowledge transfer process but fosters motivation and creativity through more interactive, inspiring, fun, challenging, and explorative learning activities. A learning process that provides unrestricted space for developing creativity and independence by the talents and interests, according to students' physical development and psychological aspects. One way to achieve this can be by conducting joint research in the learning process of enamel glass media on copper metal at Politeknik Seni Yogyakarta. Researchers conduct research with students to expand teaching materials, such as enamel experiments. Enamel is a metal coating technique that uses high temperatures. Enamel material is still complex to obtain, so it is necessary to find a substitute material. One way to be able to find a substitute for enamel media is to conduct experiments. Thus, conducting media experiments in art is very necessary. It is helpful to find a new medium of expression that is more effective and efficient to channel the expression of the soul through art. This research aims to find enamel materials that utilize waste in our environment, namely broken Glass. The experiment will observe: (1). How strong is glass adhesion to copper metal? (2). What is the boiling point of glass waste? (3). How is the color achieved? The results of the experiments show that (1) Waste glass can be utilized as enamel material for copper metal. (2). The average boiling point temperature of waste glass is 900 C. (.3). The desired enamel color game can be done by applying Metal oxide, Cobalt oxide, Copper oxide, Iron, Mangaan, Uranium, and Tin to the Glass

Abstract

The utilization of fish catches in Besole Village has yet to be maximized. The catches are directly sold in the form of fresh fish to intermediaries and grilled fish that depend on tourists who come, so the catch depends on the price in the market. It is one of the reasons for conducting community service and assisting in utilizing assets owned by Besole Village. Processing catches is one of the efforts that is expected to improve the economy and realize prosperity because the processing results will have a higher selling value. This community service uses the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method. The female fisherman community is assisted in processing the catches. After assistance is provided, the community can process the catches into fish floss products that can be marketed for a long time and in a wide range. The practical implication of this activity is that the local government, village, and pokdarwis can monitor and ensure that the female fisherman community can maximize the sustainability of fish floss processing to support the welfare of families and communities

Abstract

Based on the results of a preliminary survey in Tanjung Anom Village, Mauk District, Tangerang Regency, the prevalence of KEK (Chronic Energy Deficiency) in pregnant women in October was 10.6%, where the RPJMN target in 2024 was 10%. Of the 66 pregnant women, 7 pregnant women experienced KEK. SEZ is a condition in which a person suffers from an imbalance in nutritional intake (energy and protein) that lasts for a long time. Pregnant women who experience KEK will have problems in pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum. In addition, it will also have an impact on fetal development. The government has made efforts to help reduce the incidence of SEZs in pregnant women by providing regular supplementary food to pregnant women. However, these efforts still need to achieve the expected target. The purpose of community service is to increase the knowledge of pregnant women, cadres, and community leaders about the impact of pregnant women experiencing KEK and how to handle it. Participants in this activity were 15 pregnant women who experienced SEZs, Posyandu Cadres, and community leaders. This activity began by conducting a preliminary survey and a forum discussion group (FGD) to determine the priority of problems and interventions to be given. The intervention implementation was carried out through pretest and post-test assessments to see the effectiveness of the counseling provided. The evaluation results found an increase in knowledge in pregnant women with an average score of 62 from the pretest results and 98 postes results. So, it can be concluded that pregnant women understand the impact of SEZs during pregnancy. We advise pregnant women to be able to meet a balanced nutritional intake during pregnancy by consuming foods that are high in calories and protein, by the innovation given, namely GUDEK ROTTAYAM, which means Movement of bUmil with Cakes, Rolade Tofu, Eggs, Chicken and baYAM

Abstract

The prevalence of stunting in Depok City is 3,283 (3.24%) children who are stunted in a preliminary survey conducted randomly to pregnant women in the TPMB Bdn. Dian K area, it was found that some pregnant women still do not know about the prevention of stunting in children during pregnancy.   unting is the failure to grow or the abnormality of a child, which is usually characterized by weight or height that is not appropriate for his age, according to age less than -2 standard deviations (SD) in the World Health Organization (WHO) growth curve which occurs due to irreversible conditions due to inadequate nutritional intake and recurrent/chronic infections that happen in the first 1000 days of life (HPK). The government has tried to handle stunting by providing additional food to pregnant women and toddlers using local ingredients to make it accessible to the community. The provision of PMT gives good results. Namely, there is a decrease in the incidence of stunting every year. The purpose of this community outreach is to provide education and increase the knowledge of pregnant women about stunting prevention starting from the period of pregnancy, commonly known as the First 1000 Days of Life. The participants in this activity were 17 pregnant women and Posyandu Cadres. This activity began with a preliminary survey and a Forum Discussion Group (FGD) to determine problem priorities and carry out interventions. The intervention was carried out by providing counselling and pretests and posts to measure the success of counselling. Based on the results of the pretest, an average score of 86 was obtained, and the average score of the post-test was 100, which showed that the majority of participants experienced an increase in knowledge after providing education about stunting prevention. The advice given is that pregnant women always strive to fulfil nutritional needs, especially in 1000 HPK, by consuming nutritious foods such as GETOL BAWEL (Nuget, Tofu, Eggs, Leeks and Carrots).

Abstract

Eating difficulties in early childhood, especially toddlers, is a significant nutritional challenge in Indonesia. If handled properly, these problems can help the growth and development of children. There is a need for practical solutions that can increase children's appetite in a way that appeals to both children and parents. This community service activity aims to improve the appetite of toddlers by introducing a healthy snack innovation called PORORO GUMMY (Pumpkins and Carrots to Growth). This activity was carried out at PAUD Kartini in West Bandung and involved children, parents, and school stakeholders. Gummy snacks are made from natural ingredients such as yellow pumpkin, carrots, honey, jelly, and lemon juice, which are rich in nutrients to support children's health. Nutrition education and snack-making demonstrations were also given to parents. The activity results show that PORORO GUMMY attracts children's interest and increases their appetite. Parents gain essential insights into providing healthy and nutritious food through nutrition education sessions and snack-making demonstrations. This activity offers practical solutions for children's eating difficulties and motivates families to adopt healthier eating habits. PORORO GUMMY is an effective and easy-to-implement alternative to increase the appetite of toddlers, as well as support their optimal growth and development
