Jurnal Komunitas Bahasa menerbitkan manuskrip tentang penelitian pengajaran bahasa, sastra, dan linguistik. Jurnal Komunitas Bahasa menampilkan kebaruan penelitian dan signifikansi untuk kemajuan ilmu pengetahuan di salah satu bidang manuskrip yang diterbitkan. Jurnal ini menerima kiriman dari seluruh dunia dan juga dari Indonesia. Naskah yang diterbitkan termasuk. Ilmu bahasa; fonologi, morfologi, sintaksis, analisis wacana, psikolinguistik, sosiolinguistik, dan analisis wacana kritis Sastra: studi sastra lokal, sastra Indonesia, sastra anak, studi sastra untuk pendidikan karakter, dan studi sastra lainnya. Linguistik dan Sastra Indonesia: pengembangan kurikulum, metode pembelajaran, materi pembelajaran, media pembelajaran, penilaian, pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia lintas kurikulum, teknologi informasi dan komunikasi dalam pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia, keterampilan berbahasa, dan analisis pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia lainnya. Dewan redaksi ingin menerima naskah yang dikirimkan melalui sistem pengiriman online. Penulis berharap untuk mempublikasikan penelitian di jurnal ini harus memastikan bahwa manuskrip memenuhi ruang lingkup dan pedoman pengajuan jurnal. Abstract

This study aims to examine the meaning contained in the “Four Fingers” logo using Charles Sanders Peirce’s semiotic approach. It employs a qualitative descriptive method, with Peirce’s semiotic theory serving as the analytical framework. Data collection was conducted using a note-taking technique. This research was carried out due to the absence of prior studies addressing this phenomenon from a semiotic perspective. The findings indicate that the message conveyed through the design of the “Four Fingers” logo and its visual campaign is communicatively received by the public. Based on Peirce’s elements of representamen, object, and interpretant, the logo is interpreted as a symbolic call for the public to collectively monitor and prevent potential electoral fraud in the 2024 election, which is perceived as a threat to the principles of democracy in Indonesia. Overall, the results of this study contribute to the richness of semiotic discourse and may serve as a reference for future research.

Abstract

This study discusses the influence of slang on the existence of the Indonesian language amid the rapid development of digital technology and the widespread use of social media. The phenomenon of slang, which is commonly used by young generations on platforms such as TikTok, WhatsApp, and Instagram, reflects linguistic creativity while also posing challenges to the preservation of the Indonesian language. This research was conducted using a qualitative method through literature review, analyzing relevant sources related to the forms, functions, as well as the positive and negative impacts of slang usage on the ability to speak proper and correct Indonesian. The findings show that slang can enrich vocabulary and serve as a means of self-expression, yet excessive use may disrupt formal communication and accelerate language shift. Therefore, active roles from parents, educators, the government, and the media are necessary to instill a love for the Indonesian language and encourage its proper usage in order to maintain its existence in the era of globalization.

Abstract

This study aims to examine how social media functions as a political education platform through the use of representative speech acts. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach with representative speech act theory. Data were obtained from Ferry Irwandi's Instagram account (@irwandiferry) from January to August 2025. There were 35 posts focused on political and state issues in Indonesia. Data analysis revealed 145 representative speech acts. These representative speech acts comprised six forms: explaining, stating, showing, reminding, mentioning, and speculating. The results showed that explaining was the dominant representative speech act. These findings demonstrate that Ferry Irwandi strives to provide political insight, build understanding, foster public awareness, and encourage the public to be critical of government policies, rather than passively accepting them. The implications of this study confirm that social media, particularly Instagram, can be an effective platform for political literacy when used with argumentative, clear, and educative language strategies.
