ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. This journal is published regularly twice a year in April and October. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. ABDIRA contains various activities carried out in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in society by applying science and technology which can then be useful for improving community welfare.

Abstract

This community service activity was carried out with the aim that the existing teaching and learning process at the Mekar Arum Foundation High School, Bandung Regency, West Java became more efficient and flexible. By providing an output in the form of an online learning website called Quizpper (quiz without paper), the Quizpper website is designed with the aim of improving the quality of teaching and learning activities between students and teachers in achieving learning objectives. Through the features available on the Quizpper learning website, the learning process also becomes more structured and organized, this is because Quizpper utilizes a database storage system. Design and development are carried out using the Research and Development (RD) method with a waterfall development model which consists of several stages, namely, requirements analysis, design, implementation or coding, and testing. The Quizpper website was developed using the PHP Codeigniter 3 framework and the mysql database as the storage tool. The arrangement and appearance of the front-end in the Quizpper learning system are adjusted based on teaching and learning activities in class.

Abstract

Socioeconomic status and family food habits are one of the factors for stunting. The purpose of this community service activity is a form of stunting prevention in the community by conducting socialization and workshop activities. In the framework of nutritional and health assistance with the theme isi piringku, it is hoped that the incidence of stunting can be reduced. With this activity, it is also hoped that people can sort and choose healthy and nutritious food that can be obtained easily, cheaply and affordably. The targets of this activity include PKK cadres, posyandu cadres and mothers with toddlers who are stunted in Telemow Village, Sepaku District, North Penajam Paser Regency. Socialization activities and workshops ran smoothly and without any problems. All residents followed the training process carefully and with great enthusiasm, as evidenced by the full attention of the residents until the end of the activity. Through representatives of community leaders, this activity is considered very useful as a golden opportunity to learn and in the future it is hoped that it can reduce the number of stunting that occurs in Telemow Village.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to provide knowledge and increase public legal awareness of the legal consequences of marriage not being registered, because there are still many marriages that are only carried out based on religious law but are not registered, causing various problems. This activity was carried out through legal counseling at the Darussalam Taklim Council, Padang Lampe Village, Pangkep Regency. As a result of this activity, participants understand the reasons for marriages to be registered and the legal consequences if marriages are not registered.

Abstract

The purpose of this community service activity is to provide knowledge on cultivating red ginger plants using bag culture technology, namely a system of planting in large plastic sacks. Cultivating red ginger using bag culture technology is carried out due to limited land for cultivating red ginger. The method used in this activity is: participatory counseling, where farmers are directly involved, both in socialization and counseling. Activities carried out in several stages as follows: 1) Coordination with community leaders and partner farmers; 2) Socialization of the implementation of activities; 3) Counseling on appropriate red ginger cultivation techniques, and 4) Training on red ginger cultivation using the bag culture technique. The target achievement of this activity is expected to be able to open the insights and mindset of youth farmer groups in developing the agricultural sector, especially for red ginger commodities. Besides that, this activity can provide knowledge to the public about proper and efficient red ginger cultivation techniques to produce high production as expected.

Abstract

The independent curriculum is the minister of Education's breakthrough in overcoming the learning vacuum. Character education in the independent curriculum through a project to strengthen the Pancasila student profile is known as P5. In the YPI An-Nur Barudua Malangbong Garut environment, the independent curriculum is still very foreign. The purpose of this assistance is to improve teacher skills in preparing P5 activity modules, organizing the implementation and evaluation and reflection of P5 activities. Assistance activities are divided into three stages. Namely the first stage of delivering material about the independent curriculum and P5. The second stage is guidance on the preparation of the P5 module and its implementation stages. In the third stage, an evaluation and reflection of the mentoring activities is carried out. Based on the evaluation and reflection carried out, this mentoring activity was very useful for teachers in the YPI An-Nur Garut environment. Especially SMP IT An-Nur as the executor of the independent curriculum.

Abstract

Community empowerment activities through the BABARI program as a creative digital literacy method aimed at the community from the elementary, middle, and high school education levels are carried out once a week, and the results of reading and reviewing their writings will be published on the website. The method used is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA). This activity aims to help people to love reading and not be left behind by advanced technology. For this reason, BABARI was programmed as a form of digital literacy assistance to the community in Kampung Warung Jogjog. This activity received a positive response from the community because it became a need for young people to add insight into knowledge and skills in the field of reading and writing. In addition, it is hoped that this program will continue to grow and that donors from the Education Office, Library, and Archives Service are needed to add books and technological equipment as additional support for their digital literacy activities.

Abstract

Basic life support (BHD) is an effort needed to save the lives of victims while waiting for professional help to arrive. Basic life support knowledge and skills are needed by all groups. Santri at the Aqwamu Qila Banguntapan student boarding school has never received exposure and training related to basic life support. This PKM activity aims to provide understanding and skills to students related to BHD. The PKM activity was held on Sunday, August 28 at the Aqwamu Qila Mosque, consisting of BHD counseling and training with presentations and BHD video screenings, and manikin simulations. After the presentation and video screening, the training participants were divided into 2 groups, male and female, to directly practice and simulate BHD on the manikin. The result of this training is that all participants understand and are more confident in doing BHD. By directly carrying out a simulation on a manikin, participants can immediately practice how to provide basic life assistance.

Abstract

PKM activities are carried out to improve the literacy of SMK Bhakti Idhata teachers' learning strategies, especially when blended learning is used.As is well known, the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the face of education in Indonesia in a relatively short time. The learning system, was originally carried out face-to-face, changed to online and then to a combination of online and offline. It is called blended learning. The extreme change made the teachers confused in choosing which methods and strategies should be applied. This PKM activity was carried out in 3 stages, namely the initial stage in the form of a survey and preparation, the core stage in the form of activity implementation, and the final stage in the form of evaluation. The training is delivered online and focuses on introducing the flipped classroom as a blended learning strategy solution. As a result, this activity provides teachers with new experiences in using learning models in blended learning.

Abstract

Speaking skills, especially English, are important for all people, especially children, as a support for various aspects of future life. In teaching language, one of the factors supporting the success of teaching English to children is the use of media, namely songs. The purpose of this service is to provide speaking learning assistance to children at Oemah Ngaji, Argosari village, Turi, Sleman. This service is carried out by providing learning assistance to grade 3-5 elementary school students who are also Oemah Ngaji students through the media of songs broadcast in video form, followed by learning assistance using worksheets, and evaluation using simple games. The result of this activity is that children enthusiastically participate in mentoring activities and looked very comfortable during material activities or discussions. Enthusiasm in participating in mentoring activities is very important to increase motivation to learn speaking further.

Abstract

Theoretical studies and empirical studies show that Differentiated Learning is effective in supporting the diverse needs of students in learning. However, only a few teachers can develop differentiated learning plans. Teachers in the Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Working Group (KKMI) in Mapilli District, Polewali Mandar Regency, West Sulawesi still need training and assistance in preparing Lesson Plans (RPP) according to the Differentiated Learning Concept. Therefore, this service activity aims to facilitate teachers at the KKMI in making lesson plans according to the concept of Differentiated Learning. This activity was carried out in the form of workshops and training as well as mentoring in preparing lesson plans, with a total of 21 teachers participating. The methods used are the method of lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and practice. The achievements in implementing this training and mentoring are increasing the knowledge and ability of teachers to prepare lesson plans according to the concept of Differentiated Learning.
