ABDIRA (Journal of Community Service): Journal of Community Service contains the results of community service and empowerment activities in the form of application of various fields of science including health, education, engineering, agriculture, agriculture, social humanities, computers, entrepreneurship and economics. The purpose of this journal is to disseminate ideas and results of the dedication and research conducted by universities that can be applied in society. ABDIRA contains various activities carried out in handling and overcoming various problems that occur in society by applying science and technology which can then be useful for improving community welfare.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sukamahi Village in the field of digital marketing. Many MSME actors still rely on conventional marketing methods, which limits their market reach and hinders business development. Through intensive training and mentoring, participants were introduced to digital marketing strategies such as the use of social media, online marketplaces, and the creation of effective promotional content. The results of the activity indicate an improvement in participants' understanding and ability to manage digital marketing. This increased competence is expected to boost the competitiveness and income of MSMEs in the village.

Abstract

The increasingly complex challenges of education require awareness, active participation, and contribution from parents in educating children. Efforts made to increase understanding of the crucial role of parents in educating children through seminar activities. The seminar was held in the yard of St. Petrus Holima Wamena Church, Jayawijaya Papua Pegunungan. The main target of this seminar was parents who live in Holima. The strategies used were material presentation, discussion, feedback and follow-up. Data collection for Community Service (PkM) was through FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and documentation. The results of the seminar activities have provided a good understanding for parents regarding the basic needs of children that must be met and the important role of parents. This seminar provides good awareness for parents, that education is a close partnership between parents and educational institutions, not just the responsibility of the school.

Abstract

The development of current beauty trends influences consumer patterns in Indonesia, especially teenagers, thus encouraging the emergence of a new industry with various types of cosmetics that can be freely purchased by the wider community. This socialization was carried out with the aim of educating students to be wiser in choosing safe cosmetics. The method applied was a direct socialization method to students at SMA N 12 Kendari, providing questionnaires to see the increase in understanding after education, direct socialization and socialization carried out using leaflet media. The results obtained showed that the participants' knowledge of how to choose and use everyday cosmetics properly and safely increased. This is reflected in the average pretest value of 66.4 and the average posttest value of 89.3. The test results showed an increase in knowledge about the use of cosmetics of up to ± 22.9%. The conclusion of this activity is that socialization about safe cosmetics is very relevant and can be well received by teenagers and is able to increase teenagers' understanding of cosmetics that are safe to use, so that similar activities can be expanded to other places.

Abstract

Community service is an activity aimed at contributing to society without expecting financial compensation. Students participating in the Community Service Program (KKN) have carried out such activities in Way Kalam Village, Penengahan District, by utilizing the natural resources available in the area. The main focus of the program was the processing of palm sap into palm sugar, characterized by its unique flavor and fine-grain texture. During the implementation, the local community was introduced to an innovative method of processing palm sap into palm sugar. The community’s response was highly positive, as reflected in their enthusiasm and active participation. Moreover, they came to understand that the production process is relatively simple and holds promising market potential. This community service initiative has had a meaningful impact, not only by enhancing knowledge about alternative business opportunities but also by contributing to the economic improvement of the local population.

Abstract

The importance of English proficiency has led to greater attention being given to English instruction for young children. Young learner is recognized as an ideal period for language learning, which requires the use of appropriate media and teaching methods. This community service activity aims to support children in learning and practicing English in a fun and engaging way by using short animated videos. The activity was carried out at TK Masjid Syuhada, using the video “The Bear and the Bee” to introduce vocabulary related to emotions and parts of the body. A total of 13 students participated enthusiastically in all stages of the activity. The activity results that the kindergarten students were motivated in learning English vocabulary and simple expression using short animated video. The students’ enthusiasm during the activity show that short animate video is an interesting media and beneficial to be used in teaching English for young learner.

Abstract

Social media is an important strategy for promotional activities, one of which is TikTok. Where this platform is a tool to introduce products by influencing and convincing buyers visually and audiovisually. Without strong promotion through digital, the products marketed are less able to compete. As a result, sales do not increase. Seeing this problem, many people do not understand the benefits of TikTok as a promotional tool amidst the onslaught of technology. One of them is the Difabelzone community. So, the purpose of this community service is to provide understanding and training related to optimizing TikTok as a promotional media to improve the skills of people with disabilities in utilizing digital media. The approaches used include observation, socialization/training, and evaluation. This method is used so that community members can compete with various competitors, products are increasingly in demand without being limited by distance and time and sales volumes are increasing. The community can easily take advantage of developing digital technology, so that inclusivity occurs in people's lives. The increase in understanding and skills of Difabelzone using TikTok in the form of creating simple content, utilizing various features and filters, TikTok Shop, hashtags and interesting captions have a positive impact slowly and surely in expanding market share through digital promotion.

Abstract

Adolescents are a vulnerable age group prone to health problems due to irregular lifestyles, such as skipping breakfast, consuming unhealthy foods, and experiencing stress. One of the common disorders they face is gastritis. A survey conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Kecamatan Binjai, Langkat Regency, showed that 27% of students experienced gastritis symptoms within the past two months. This community service activity aimed to improve students’ knowledge about gastritis through health education. The method used was quasi-experimental with a one-group pre-test and post-test design involving 27 students from class X-7. The educational intervention was delivered interactively using PowerPoint presentations, posters, quizzes, and QA sessions. The results showed an increase in knowledge scores from 249 (92.22%) to 259 (95.93%), or an improvement of 3.71%. The most significant increase was in understanding the effects of smoking, excessive eating patterns, and stress. Health education proved effective and is essential to be conducted regularly to strengthen understanding and encourage healthy behavior among students.

Abstract

Bumiwangi Village, Ciparay District, Bandung Regency, is one of the tourist villages in West Java. Tourist villages are rural areas that have the potential for tourism development that focuses on the community and environmental conservation. Community understanding of basic contracts is very important, especially in its position as a tourist village. The method used in this community service is a community education method carried out through socialization and counseling activities. The results of this community service show that the majority of people have frequently seen basic contract. Understanding the legal requirements of agreements, including the types of agreements, is very important to know, including the essential elements of each contract made, especially buying and selling, renting, and cooperation. This understanding of basic contracts needs to be followed up with further community service with a focus on the practice of making basic contracts.

Abstract

The main problem in Indonesia is the high population growth rate, this problem can be prevented by using effective contraceptives that have long-term effects, one example is the use of KB Implants. Family Planning is one of the most basic and primary preventive health services for women. Implants are Long-Term Contraceptive Methods (MKJP) made of plastic rubber containing hormones, installed on the upper arm. Implants can be used for a long period of 3-5 years and are reversible. The purpose of this community service activity is to increase knowledge in WUS and PUS regarding long-term contraceptives and to help run the MKJP Program. The implementation of this Community Service activity was attended by 30 WUS and PUS in the Anreapi Health Center Work Area. The methods used in this activity are through lectures, discussions, questions and answers, and installation of Implant contraceptives. This activity is to increase the understanding of WUS and PUS regarding long-term contraceptives.

Abstract

The internship program is part of a compulsory curriculum that aims to provide direct experience to students in the world of education. This article aims to describe the implementation of the Internship I program carried out by fourth semester students of the PGSD Study Program at Pahlawan Tuanku Tambusai University at SDN 010 Langgini. This activity is carried out through observation, interviews, and direct involvement in the learning process and school activities. The results of this internship activity show an increase in students' understanding of school management, the learning process, and instilling student character values. This program not only improves students' pedagogical and social competencies, but also contributes to school activities. Thus, Internship I becomes a forum for community service as well as strengthening the competence of prospective teachers.
