Abstract

The song of Love Yourself by Justin Bieber talks about the importance of self-love and acceptance by encouraging any audience to prioritize their own needs and well-being, rather than seeking validation from others. Through the lyrics, Bieber emphasizes the idea that love and respect start from within oneself. Self-love should be focused by letting go of toxic relationships and negative influences and to pay more attention to each person’s own growth and happiness. By answering the question of how may self-love be represented on Justin Bieber`s Love Yourself?, the song's message is particularly relevant in today's world where social media and external pressures often dictate how people perceive themselves. Love Yourself serves as a powerful reminder that self-love and acceptance are key to mental and emotional well-being. In conclusion, Love Yourself is a powerful song that promotes self-love and acceptance including pushing out any negativity and toxic influence.

Abstract

Beauty for women is crucial as an intersection of their desires, needs, and satisfactions. Who Says is a song by Selena Gomez released in 2011 that inspires women to be confident since beauty is actually essential. Immanuel Kant’s aesthetic essentiality underlines that beauty is not agreeable since it relies on its own essence. Then, how may Kant’s aesthetic essentiality see the position of beauty in Selena Gomez’s Who Says? Through qualitative method on cultural studies, this article exposes Kant’s perspective and Gomez’s song. Recent various beauty standards make women feel insecure, but the song encourages girls to be who they are and not let what other people say get to them. All women should ignore forceful beauty standards because any expectation could be detrimental to women’s self-esteem. In conclusion, the song shows that beauty is essential and could only be experienced by individuals, not by any beauty standard.

Abstract

The philosophy of science is a branch of philosophy that discusses the nature of science. The philosophy of science attempts to realize the true truth of the knowledge. This article aims to discuss the scope of the philosophy of science which consists of definition of philosophy, definition of the philosophy of science, characteristics of philosophical thoughts, and three fundamental structures of science. In this study, the researchers employ qualitative method under descriptive approach. Meanwhile, in the present study the researchers used content analysis as the data analysis technique. The results showed that philosophy is a way of humans’ thoughts in relation to the study of the fundamental and eternal universe. Furthermore, when philosophy is connected into science, it becomes the philosophy of science. The philosophy of science then is understood as a part of philosophy whose activities to examine science in the context of science through various scientific procedures including initial principles, theoretical structures, measures of scientific truth, views of formal logic, and practical methodology and metaphysics. In addition, philosophy is inseparable from the characteristics of philosophical thoughts which consists of methodical, systematic, coherent and consistent, rational, comprehensive, radical, and univesal. Finally, philosophy examines three aspects of the fundamental structure of science including aspect of ontology, epistemology, axiology. In conclusion, the philosophy of science has four scopes including definition of philosophy, definition of the philosophy of science, characteristics of philosophical thoughts, and three fundamental structures of science.

Abstract

An abstract is a brief and all-encompassing synopsis of scientific literature. Abstracts facilitate readers’ comprehension of article contents concisely and expeditiously. Hence, it is imperative to craft the abstract in a captivating manner to pique the reader’s curiosity and encourage them to peruse the complete content. An effective abstract should be precise, objective, logically organised, easily understandable, and concise. Nevertheless, several individuals, namely those studying Nautical Sciences, have encountered difficulty when it comes to writing in English. The task becomes further intricate since it involves meeting all the requirements, such as structuring and presenting coherent concepts to ensure the reader’s understanding of the text. The objective of this study is to identify the flaws present in the final project abstract of the Nautical Sciences Student at Akademi Maritim Nusantara Cilacap. This study employs a qualitative methodology, utilising a descriptive analysis technique. A total of ten samples were deliberately gathered for this investigation in the year 2022. The research findings indicate that there are two major concerns regarding faults in composing the abstract, specifically those pertaining to clarity and grammatical accuracy. Clarity errors encompass issues related to brevity (21) and the utilisation of passive voice (15). In addition, the data contained six grammatical problems, specifically verb errors (21), punctuation errors (10), preposition errors (7), spelling errors (5), conjunction errors (5), and article errors (4).

Abstract

The research aims to aanalysis of Amish’s ppurity ssymbols in “Plain Truth” Novel by Jody Picoult. This research used descriptive qualitative method and semiotic approach in analyzing purity symbol. This research used Pierce’s theory and combine with Kennedy’s symbol theory. The instrument of the research is using note taking from the novel. The results of this research prove that there are three different types of symbols in novel Plain Truth,  such as: Character, Object and, Action, while symbol of purity  portray such as: Character explain who commit the purity, like Aaron Fisher, Object explained the purity of the object like beard man, Amish woman outfits, and buggy and horses.

Abstract

Mastering language earlier for early childhoods is very urgent. It is because through language early childhoods can express their thoughts easier to their parents, teachers, and people around them. Through language, early childhoods are also able to learn five other basic abilities, such as: (1) religious and moral values, (2) physical-motor, (3) cognitive, (4) social-emotional, and (5) art. This study aims to analyze the effect of using singing method applied to the early childhoods aged 5-6 years. To acquire the data, the researchers employed qualitative method under a descriptive approach. Based on the observation, the data showed that singing method applied by the teachers at school and also applied by the parents at home become an effective method to enhance the early childhoods’ language skills, such as: (1) helping them to have self-confidence, (2) helping them to be able to memorize the lyrics of the song, (3) helping them to be able to enhance the new vocabulary, and (4) helping them to be able to understand the meaning of the new words. In conclusion, the use of singing method is effective to develop the early childhoods’ language skills.

Abstract

This study discusses the problem of phonology and morphology acquisition in children aged 0-2 years whose parents use Indonesian in their daily interaction (communication) in the family while the surrounding community interacts (communicates) using the local language (Javanese). This research concludes that the embryonic development of children's language can vary in each individual, can develop quickly and can also be slow, depending on the level or level of age, the ability of the parents, and the active environment to develop it. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research. The data generated from this research is in the form of spoken words, which will then be transcribed into writing. Data related to this research, which is devoted to language acquisition in the form of phonology and morphology acquisition in children aged 0-2 years, was obtained using several methods.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the language acquisition of a five-year-old child. This research focuses on declarative and imperative sentence forms, using a descriptive qualitative approach with recording techniques. The analysis results show that the syntactic acquisition in declarative sentences has four forms, and imperative has five. The category of language acquisition at the syntactic level is good enough because there is minimal deviation from the form of speech produced. In summary, five-year-old children will likely use declarative and imperative sentences as they develop their language skills. They may start to use declarative sentences more naturally to convey information and use imperative sentences to express commands or requests, although their usage of these sentence types may vary in complexity and grammatical accuracy. Shortly, the results showed that children's utterances dominate in imperative sentences.

Abstract

This study investigates the profound love shared between the main characters, Kate Adam and Ben Mackenzie, in the novel "Meet You in the Middle" by Devon Daniels drawing from Robert J. Sternberg’s concept of Triangular Theory of Love. The study aims to understand the realization that is underlying components of love by contributing through the triangular theory of love in their relationship. The researchers employ qualitative approach, focusing on the contexts and subjective interpretations. The analysis uncovers that Kate Adam and Ben Mackenzie attain triangular theory of love by embodying the fundamental components of intimacy, passion, and commitment within their relationship.

Abstract

This study examines the depiction of femininity in the graphic novel Pregnant Butch by A. K. Summers. The novel follows the story of Teek, who is experiencing pregnancy as a butch lesbian for the first time. This article investigates Teek’s sustaining femininity throughout her pregnancy journey as a butch. A butch itself is a gender expression that holds a masculine role in lesbian relationships. The researchers took the data of this analysis is taken by reading the graphic novels thoroughly, approaching the analysis from Teek's perspective, compiling a list of dialogues and interactions, and categorizing the collected data into specific themes. Using a qualitative method, the researchers in this analysis underline the uniqueness between masculinity and femininity illustrated in the graphic novel. In conclusion, Teek's experience of femininity during pregnancy enriches her butch identity, emphasizing her ability to balance both masculine and feminine aspects of herself. The study highlights the significance of feminine elements in Teek's unwavering expression of femininity.
