Abstract

This research explores the implementation of teacher performance management and its impact on the quality of education. Through a descriptive qualitative approach, this research explores an in-depth understanding of tesacher experiences, implementation challenges, and the contribution of performance management to student achievement. Teachers' awareness of performance management was found to be high, but was faced by implementation challenges, such as high workload and limited resources. School leadership plays a critical role in creating a culture that supports teacher performance management. These findings suggest that good implementation of teacher performance management correlates with improved quality of education. Recommendations include training program development, strengthening school leadership, implementation of a clear reward system, revision of school policies, and follow-up research. These recommendations are designed to strengthen practices and policies that support teacher engagement and education improvement. This research contributes to a better understanding of the complexity of teacher performance management implementation and its relevance to education quality. The implications and recommendations of this research can lay the foundation for improvements in practices and policies at the broader education level.

Abstract

Students’ demotivation is a crucial issue in EFL context that has not yet received sufficient research particularly in higher education level. In Indonesia English as a foreign language context, students’ demotivation in language learning is mostly addressed based on students’ perceptions. The purpose of the current study is to examine Indonesian university EFL teachers’ perceptions of factors demotivate students to study English at university level in Indonesia.  To collect the qualitative data, five teachers from English study program were involved in a semi-structured interviews with additional follow-up questions to further explore the raised concerns. These teachers were asked to understand their perceptions and experiences on what factors demotivate their students to study English. Seven demotivating factors were identified in teachers’ perception that demotivate students to study English: students’ attitudes toward English, students’ past experience, peers proficiency, teachers’ workload, classroom availability, hot and suffocating classroom, and technological facilities. This study has some implications for higher education policy makers, institutional authorities, EFL students, and EFL teachers in particular.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' understanding of greening and disaster mitigation through the application of problem-based learning model. This research is a quantitative descriptive research. This research was conducted in grade 7 of SMP Negeri Poopo, Rayonapo District, South Minahasa Regency. The results showed that students' understanding of reforestation and disaster mitigation with respondents who became sample members as many as 42 students, as many as 11 students (26%) in the very good category, 20 students (48%) in the good category, 10 students (24%) in the good enough category, 1 student (2%) in the less good category. This means that with problem-based learning, students have a very good understanding of reforestation and disaster mitigation.

Abstract

This research was conducted to measure student learning outcomes using interactive multimedia with a STEM approach based on computational thinking in the informatics subject on binary numbers in class VII SMPN 1 Batujajar. The type of research used is quasi-experimental. The sample used was class VII D with a total of 32 students. The data used in this research used a pretest and posttest by giving 20 questions. Test testing is carried out by testing validity, reliability, difficulty index, and distinguishing power of questions. Data analysis uses score gain. The average pretest score before being given treatment using interactive multimedia was 50.5 and the average posttest score after being given treatment using interactive multimedia with a problem based learning model was 84.2. Thus, a gain value of 0.6814 is obtained in the medium category. It can be concluded that interactive multimedia with a STEM approach based on computational thinking can improve the learning outcomes of class VII D students at SMPN 1 Batujajar in the informatics subject on binary numbers.

Abstract

The Tanimbar Islands Regency still has a high prevalence of stunting in toddlers, so we must work together to eradicate it. According to WHO, the prevalence of stunting should not exceed 20%. According to data from the 2021 Indonesian Nutritional Status Survey (SSGI), the prevalence of stunting in toddlers is currently 25.1% in the Tanimbar Islands District, Maluku Province. The purpose of this study was to classify villages based on the indicators of the stunting service package in the Tanimbar Islands District. This research uses an analytic survey approach using secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) of the Republic of Indonesia in 2022 and the Tanimbar Islands District Health Office in 2022 by utilizing the K-Means Algorithm. The stages of data analysis in this study consisted of library research, data collection, data processing, the K-Means algorithm. Furthermore, the last stage is to verify the data consisting of analysis of findings based on the theory used. At this analysis stage, the K-Means Clustering Method was also applied to classify villages in the Tanimbar Islands District based on the stunting service package. Research results based on analysis using the K-Means algorithm (Number of causes in each cluster) provide an overview of the number of clusters that enter each cluster. Cluster 1 consists of 20 villages, cluster 2 consists of 66 villages, cluster 3 consists of 1 village and cluster 4 consists of 1 village.

Abstract

Motivation is a crucial role in language learning as it influences students' willingness, effort, and engagement in the learning process. When students are motivated, they are more likely to actively participate, persist through challenges, and ultimately achieve higher levels of language proficiency. Role-play methods offer a dynamic approach that can effectively address the motivation challenges faced by teachers. By immersing students in simulated real-life scenarios, role-play creates an interactive and engaging learning environment. The study intends to explore motivation and improve English speaking proficiency using role-play method. This study use qualitative with literature study. The research found that role-play activities are able to increase students' engagement, real-world language application, speaking skills, confidence, creativity, and collaborative learning, ultimately leading to enhanced motivation in learning English speaking.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the existence of constraint factors in Indonesian learning, one of which is that teachers in teaching in class are dominated by conventional methods and assignments, still using the lecture method without being balanced with the use of models that are in accordance with the material resulting in less interesting learning, this causes one of the factors of low student learning outcomes. This study aims to see the application of the STAD model in learning the intrinsic element analysis of saga texts in class X. This research is qualitative research, using descriptive analysis. The techniques used in data collection are interviews and observations. The subjects in this study were X-3 class teachers and X-3 grade students. Based on the results of research that has been carried out shows that the application of the Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) model can be applied to learning intrinsic element analysis of class X saga texts, given evidence with student learning outcomes that have obtained above average, with this learning model can make students enthusiastic when learning Indonesian.

Abstract

This research aims to determine (1) the learning process using Google Meet media in the Covid-19 pandemic era in entrepreneurship subjects for class XI at Private Vocational High School Kutalimbaru, (2) to find out students' perceptions regarding the implementation of learning using Google Meet media in entrepreneurship subjects, (3) to determine students' responses to use of Google Meet media in entrepreneurship subjects. This research used descriptive qualitative methods, data collection instruments: questionnaires, documentation and observation. The research subjects were class XI students who took entrepreneurship subjects, and teachers who taught entrepreneurship subjects at SMK Negeri 1 Kutalimbaru. The results of this research found that learning using Google Meet media in entrepreneurship subjects was effective, this is based on the findings (1) 82.56% of the quality of learning was in the high category, (2) 81.47% of the suitability of the learning level was in the high category, (3) 77.16% of the learning incentives given by teachers to students are in the sufficient category, and (4) 80.65% or in the high category for the learning implementation time used by teachers in teaching and learning activities (teaching and learning activities), observation results are also found that teachers tend to have prepared lesson plans (learning implementation plans) before learning activities are carried out. Thus, this research found that the use of Google Meet media in teaching and learning activities in entrepreneurship subjects was effective in the era of the Covid 19 pandemic.
