PaKMas (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) merupakan jurnal yang didedikasikan untuk mempublikasi hasil-hasil kegiatan Pengabdian yang dilakukan oleh Mahasiswa, Dosen dan seluruh lapisan masyarakat yang bertujuan untuk menyebarluaskan hasil pemikiran dan gagasan konseptual, serta tentang kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat dengan berbagai potensi, hambatan, tantangan, dan permasalahan yang ada di lingkungan masyarakat. PaKMas (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) juga meliputi kegiatan pengabdian, seperti: bidang ilmu pengetahuan, sosial, ekonomi, kesehatan, budaya, terapan, pengembangan TIK, dan pelayanan administrasi. Serta pelatihan dan peningkatan hasil pendidikan, pertanian, informasi dan komunikasi, pengajaran, pemberdayaan komunitas (komunitas pelajar dan pemuda) dan organisasi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan. Jurnal PaKMas terbit 2 kali setahun pada bulan Mei dan November.

Abstract

The fish processing and packaging program based on nutritional value aims to enhance the quality and competitiveness of processed products produced by IRT Jiddah and IRT Barokah in Surabaya. This initiative is driven by the partners' reliance on traditional processing methods, which are inefficient and can reduce product quality. The implementation method consists of five main stages: Focus Group Discussion (FGD) to identify issues, training in fish processing into nutritious products such as nuggets, sausages, fish balls, and salted fish from Thryssa mystax, training in packaging using a vacuum sealer, digital marketing training through social media, and production mentoring. The results indicate an improvement in the partners' skills in processing, packaging, and marketing, supported by modern technology such as food dehydrators and vacuum sealers. This program successfully enhanced product quality, shelf life, market value potential, and expanded market reach. However, participants' initial limited knowledge of modern technology and digital marketing remains challenging. The program's sustainability is expected to be improved through introductory technology sessions and discussion forums to encourage continuous application of the acquired skills.

Abstract

Construction projects require good planning, implementation and control to run according to what is expected, including projects that will be carried out by engineers on CV. Maltitah Indah is a service provider company engaged in the general contractor or project implementer located in the city of Makassar, South Sulawesi Province. The purpose of this community service program is to provide education and hands-on practice in the form of training in the form of construction project scheduling training using the Microsoft Project application which aims to improve the quality and soft skills of the workforce, especially engineering personnel, to make project scheduling more practical and can prevent project delays. The implementation method starts from the preparation stage, training stage and evaluation stage to determine the level of understanding, response, and assessment of the success rate of the implementation of the activity. The results of the implementation of this training can increase the understanding of participants who initially did not know how to make project scheduling using the Microsoft Project application and after the training seen from the total number of all participants after the training (post-test), namely, as many as 83.33% understood how to use it and the benefits of the software while as many as 16.67% of participants understood the use of software but were not able to elaborate on the benefits obtained.

Abstract

The priority problem experienced by partners or training participants is difficulty in using web-based technology to support technology-based learning at school and at home. The use of web technology such as WordPress access, cloud ID, and user com and its use in technology-based learning is not yet well known. The activity began with a focus group discussion to listen to teachers' statements about technology-based learning in the Kefamenanu 1 State Vocational School environment. After the FGD activities were carried out, it was continued with socialization regarding program introductions, technology-based learning materials, and introduction to the web. This section socializes technology-based learning models in general and the use of web media in particular. The web-based learning tool intended is the use of the Google site as a media data bank and learning tool. Based on the results of the implementation of service activities carried out with the service team at Kefamenanu 1 State Vocational School, various achievements were successfully achieved. This achievement is increasing partner empowerment through comparing descriptions of test results/knowledge scores before and after implementing activities.

Abstract

The ecoprint training held in Tanjung Gading Village aims to develop creativity, environmental awareness, and increase self-confidence among local mothers and children. This activity was carried out in three sessions on August 2, 3, and 18, 2024, and successfully involved 50 participants, including mothers from gymnastics groups, local mothers, and children. This training focused on the use of natural materials such as leaves and flowers to print unique patterns on fabrics, as well as promoting environmentally friendly practices. The results of the training showed a significant increase in the understanding and application of ecoprint techniques by participants. Before the training, 92% of participants were not familiar with this technique, but after the session, many showed increased ability and creativity in applying ecoprint. Feedback from participants was very positive, reflecting high satisfaction with the learning experience and the quality of their work. This training not only empowered the local community with new skills but also strengthened social relationships and increased environmental awareness. The success of this program confirms the potential of ecoprint workshops to make a significant contribution to local economic development and environmental sustainability. It is hoped that this activity can be a model for similar initiatives in other areas to advance creativity while supporting environmental conservation.

Abstract

This activity aims to increase the knowledge and awareness of simple building workers about the importance of Occupational Safety and Health (K3), encourage the use of personal protective equipment and reduce the number of work accidents at the project site. This activity was carried out in one of the residents' houses that was being renovated. The method used was a descriptive approach. This activity targets simple construction workers who do not understand the importance of implementing occupational safety and health when working. Socialization that has been done similarly is mostly done in construction and large companies. Socialization is carried out through an educational approach which includes, discussion and demonstration of the use of personal protective equipment and conducting pre-test and post-test which are used to measure the increase in knowledge, also given knowledge about fire prevention at the work site and how to use a lightweight fire extinguisher. The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' knowledge about occupational safety and health by 90% after the socialization of increasing awareness of occupational safety and health. The use of personal protective equipment for workers increased from 0% to 95% at the work site. Future implementation of similar programs is expected to reach more workers and expand awareness about OHS.

Abstract

The community service held by lecturer at Faculty of Business and Economic, Baiturrahmah Universit. The aims of this activity is to improve financial literacy for Small Medium Enterprise (SME) owners in Nagari Koto Nan Duo, Batang Kapas District, Pesisir Selatan Regency,at August 10, 2024.  West Sumatra Province. Financial literacy is include in OJK program that encourage more society understand the concept of financial literacy. We trying to support the program, by providing material such as the important of financial literacy, saving and  online loans. We hope that by giving this material to SME owner they could have good financial literacy, make the right financial decisions and avoid things such as illegal online loans that would help the owner to developed their business. The indicator that this activity is success are the participant understand the concept of financial literacy and could make the right decision regarding to their financial problems. We hope that this activity will be done in other region so that there will be more educated SME owner and more SME established.

Abstract

Gastritis is a condition caused by inflammation of the stomach lining, often leading in pain and discomfort in the abdomen. Gastritis has become a growing concern, particularly in developing countries like Indonesia. Irregular eating habits, smoking, and frequent consumption of carbonated or alcoholic beverages can trigger gastritis. Additionally, the use of NSAID medications can also lead to the development of gastritis. The management of gastritis has evolved with advancements in diagnostic techniques and treatment options. An educational initiative was carried out at the Abepura Community Health Center. According to data on the top 10 diseases in 2023, gastritis was the most common non-communicable disease. This is likely due to Abepura sub-district being one of the areas with a high population density and activity level, influencing lifestyle choices. The purpose of the education was to help the community understand gastritis, its causes, prevention, and the correct use of medication. The method used was a participatory approach, targeting all visitors to the Abepura Health Center during the service activity. The conclusion of the service activity at the Abepura Health Center is that the community of Abepura now has a better understanding of proper prevention and management of gastritis.

Abstract

In the digital era, effective business mapping is crucial for driving growth and increasing sales, particularly in the competitive fashion industry. Gumi store, as a Muslim fashion business, has experienced stagnation in sales and has yet to implement comprehensive business mapping to formulate the right strategy. This community service initiative aims to address this issue through intensive training focused on utilizing the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as an online strategic tool. The method employed in this activity involves training on the use of BMC for the owner and three employees of gumi store. This training includes interactive sessions that provide a fundamental understanding of the key elements in the BMC and how to integrate them into business strategy. The training evaluation was conducted through a practical project, where participants were required to create a customized BMC for gumi store. The results of this activity show that participants followed the training with high enthusiasm and were able to apply the knowledge gained in their business mapping. By using BMC, gumi store is expected to design a more effective and focused business strategy, which will have a direct impact on increasing sales and competitiveness in the Muslim fashion market. This community service program not only enhances gumi store’s internal capacity but also demonstrates the importance of utilizing digital tools in modern business development.

Abstract

Ketapang Village is located in Susukan sub-district, Semarang Regency. The Teras Harmoni Women's School program, based on an ecological mental health model, has successfully empowered women in Ketapang Village. The village faces challenges such as the low participation of women in the labor force, with 380 (22%) and the lack of access to higher education with 99 (6%) female graduates. Facing these challenges, Sekolah Perempuan Teras Harmoni comes as an innovative initiative to empower women, aiming to improve family welfare through a holistic approach encompassing education, mental health, economic development, and improved managerial skills. The Sekolah Perempuan Teras Harmoni approach is based on an ecological mental health model, integrating various systems to build family and community well-being. This model, referring to Urie Bronfenbrenner's concept, considers the interaction between individuals and their environment at various levels. There is an increase in the capacity of student organizations supporting the implementation of PPK Ormawa. The increased capacity of student organizations in the implementation of PPK Ormawa can be seen from the role played by students in assisting and managing various programs, especially at Teras Harmoni Women's School. Proven by the Wilcoxon Test with the results (.000). which can be interpreted that there is an increase in the PPK Ormawa Team. And the increase in students or participants of the Teras Harmoni Women's School is evidenced by the Paired sample t-test on each program with (.000) which means that the dedication of the PPK ORMAWA HIMA BK Team has a significant and positive impact.

Abstract

In the current digital era, the ability to leverage technology and online platforms has become a key factor for success across various industries, including home industries. One example is the Pandebassi home industry group in Pamboborang Village, which has enhanced its capacity to use digital marketplaces to promote its products. Pandebassi consists of a group of local artisans in Pamboborang Village. Previously, they faced challenges in marketing their products due to limited market access and a lack of knowledge about how to utilize online platforms. To overcome these challenges, the group decided to improve its capacity in using digital marketplaces. The training helped them understand the basics of online marketing, sales strategies, and product optimization techniques to increase online visibility. With increased income from online sales, the group was able to improve product quality, expand market reach, and empower more members within the group. Additionally, the success of the Pandebassi group in utilizing digital marketplaces is expected to have a positive impact on the local economy in Pamboborang Village. With the growth of their online business activities, more job opportunities are created for the local community, contributing to better economic growth. In conclusion, the capacity enhancement of the Pandebassi home industry group in Pamboborang Village in using digital marketplaces is expected to have a significant impact on local economic development and the welfare of group members. This demonstrates the importance of leveraging technology to develop home industries and expand market access for small and medium-sized enterprises.
