PaKMas (Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat) juga meliputi kegiatan pengabdian, seperti: bidang ilmu pengetahuan, sosial, ekonomi, kesehatan, budaya, terapan, pengembangan TIK, dan pelayanan administrasi. Serta pelatihan dan peningkatan hasil pendidikan, pertanian, informasi dan komunikasi, pengajaran, pemberdayaan komunitas (komunitas pelajar dan pemuda) dan organisasi masyarakat secara berkelanjutan. Jurnal PaKMas terbit 2 kali setahun pada bulan Mei dan November.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to increase the effectiveness of students' scientific writing through training in the use of Mendeley Reference Manager. The training was conducted for 10 students of the Tanjungpura University Sociology Education Study Program using lecture and hands-on methods which included delivering material through presentations, practicing the installation and use of Mendeley features, as well as discussion and mentoring. The method used is field research as a qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques were participant observation, questionnaires and documentation. Data sources came from primary and secondary data. The results of the activity showed 90% of participants successfully used Mendeley to manage references and organize citations automatically, improving the quality and consistency of their scientific writing. Evaluation through pre-test showed 10% of participants had excellent understanding, 40% good, 10% fair, and 40% poor. After the training, the post-test showed improvement, with 50% of participants feeling very satisfied, 40% satisfied, and 10% moderately satisfied. This activity proves that Mendeley training is effective in reducing citation format errors and the risk of plagiarism, as well as encouraging a better academic culture.

Abstract

This community service activity (CSP) is entitled: Community-Based Empowerment Through Fish-Based Food Production. The target of this activity is the wives of fishermen from the Poklashar Kadompe group in Tinangkung Village, Tinangkung Selatan District, BangKep Regency. The problems faced by the partner group are (1) fish are only sold raw at very cheap prices so the profits are small, (2) lack of knowledge and skills in processing fish-based food, (3) lack of equipment due to limited business capital, (4) lack of insight and skills in making attractive product packaging, (5) knowledge about product marketing which is still minimal, (6) lack of understanding about business management. The purpose of this CSP is to empower fishermen's wives to become entrepreneurs of processed products, meatballs and fish floss. The implementation method is the Pelatihan and counseling method starting from: product production and packaging techniques, promotion techniques, marketing and business management as well as group financial bookkeeping. Abstract

The 2024 village development program is titled Technical Guidance for Improving the Status of Disadvantaged Villages to Become Developing Villages in Matandahi Village, Tinanggea District, South Konawe Regency. This activity aims to increase the understanding of village officials about the Building Village Index (IDM). This activity involves village heads, village secretaries, hamlet heads, and chairmen of the Village Consultative Body (BPD), with a focus on increasing their capacity in managing village development. The counseling methods used included lectures and discussions, which were considered effective by 94.44% of participants. The results of the evaluation showed that the majority of participants, 100%, assessed that the village head was ready or very ready to implement the IDM concept. The program also successfully involved balanced participation between age groups and genders, with most participants having an undergraduate educational background. However, there are recommendations to expand the participation of the younger generation and improve the clarity of the material for participants with lower levels of education. In conclusion, this program has a positive impact on village readiness in implementing IDM, with great potential to encourage the acceleration of sustainable village development.

Abstract

This community service aims to determine the effect of noise levels on the growth, development, and behavior of Alabio ducks, for a population of 400 (16 males and 384 females). The noise level of the diesel engine was 94.3 dB, and at a distance of about 5 meters from the sound source, the behavioral ducks were changed such as running from the farm area, decreased eating patterns, stunted growth, and reduced egg production. After replacing the diesel engine with a motor engine that did not produce noise (0 dB), there was a significant change in the condition of the ducks. Noise level testing used the Sound Meter Level application with a measuring distance of 1-12 meters from the alabio duck cage. The rice pounding machine and rice smoother with driving power have been modified with a diesel motor turned on simultaneously. The sound produced was measured every 1 meter for 30 seconds. The noise level produced was an average of 70.5 dB. The noise level produced has been significantly reduced, so with this condition, the behavior of the ducks began to change. The ducks no longer leave the farm area (pens and ponds), and the eating pattern increased significantly due to the loss of stress factors due to noise, which has a positive impact on growth acceleration. This program is expected to increase the productivity of eggs produced by ducks. This service shows that reducing noise levels has a positive effect on the welfare, growth, and productivity of Alabio ducks.

Abstract

Nowadays, technological developments affect learning methods, so training is needed in creating technology-based media. Provision of teaching materials, such as the use of the Canva application by teachers, is an important part of routine activities at school. Effective teaching materials are also considered more practical and simple to use. However, not all teachers in schools use the Canva application as a tool in learning media. The purpose of Community Service (PkM) through this technical training is to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers who are members of the Pematangsiantar City IPA MGMP in designing learning media based on literacy, numeracy, and differentiated learning. The PkM method is carried out with an interactive and socialization approach that aims to build motivation, through the stages of implementation planning, as well as work procedures, namely the planning, action, observation, and evaluation stages. This Canva technical training was held in August 2024 with the participation of 30 participants. The PkM activity produced quite good achievements, where in each instructional objective there were changes in indicators that showed satisfactory development. Participants had a good understanding of the Canva application and acknowledged that the application was useful in helping to compile learning modules. Based on technical factors and supporting factors, it is known that this technical training brings changes to the knowledge and skills of participants.

Abstract

Teachers and curriculum are components that greatly influence the implementation and achievement of quality education. The role of teachers as implementers of learning in the classroom, greatly requires the role of the curriculum used as a guideline in learning, and vice versa, the curriculum requires the role of professional teachers as implementers of the curriculum in the classroom. The purpose of the community service activities that have been carried out is to strengthen the interrelationship between teachers and the curriculum, so that a strong relationship occurs as an effort towards the implementation of quality ECE. The method of community service activities uses participatory action research (PAR), with the aim of learning in overcoming problems and fulfilling needs in the community. In detail, the implementation of this community service activity is to meet the needs of ECE educators, by providing training through workshops and mentoring activities that are implemented in ECE institutions. Based on the objectives and methods used, this community service activity is to lead teachers and the curriculum in implementing quality ECE learning and development institutions. The implementation of the curriculum supported by professional teachers is capital for institutions in providing quality stimulation and learning services for early childhood. So the stronger the interrelationship between teachers and the curriculum, the easier it will be for ECE institutions to provide quality education services.

Abstract

One of the components that is the standard for educational success is by examining the success of learning. In order to achieve success in learning, there needs to be a method that needs to be done, namely meaningful learning. Meaningful learning should utilize learning media. This is in contrast to the field study conducted at MI Bustanul Ulum. Teachers often apply direct learning models accompanied by explanation and assignment methods. Teachers also never use learning media, either digital-based or like teaching aids that can support the learning atmosphere. This is due to the lack of teacher knowledge and skills in developing learning media. For this reason, with this community service program, we plan to help overcome partner problems. There are 6 stages carried out, namely observation, socialization, workshops and FGDs, design training, media development, evaluation and mentoring. To find out the increase in teacher competence, the normalized gain formula is used which will then be grouped into improvement categories. This community service activity can improve teacher competence. The score for improving teachers' ability to understand digital media is 0.46; The score for improving teachers' ability to understand non-digital media is 0.56 and the score for improving teachers' skills in designing media is 0.40. These three improvements fall into the moderate improvement category.

Abstract

Waste banks are one solution in overcoming environmental problems, especially in organized waste management. However, the lack of information and education about the importance of waste banks in society is a major challenge in managing waste banks. This activity aims to increase community participation in strengthening the waste bank movement by utilizing digital marketing. This activity provides a digital marketing workshop which provides training on marketing strategies through digital media and also creating social media content. In this case, Instagram social media is used as the main platform for disseminating waste bank information. Participants are taught how to create content in the form of educational content, informational content and creative content (out of the box) that can attract public attention and increase public awareness about waste banks. The result of this activity is an increase in the readiness of waste bank managers to utilize Instagram media as a suggestion for more effective information dissemination, by optimizing educational content, informational content and creative content (out of the box). This activity is expected to be able to support waste banks in managing waste more responsibly and increase community participation in the waste bank program.

Abstract

Terusan Village is famous for its agricultural and fishery potential, processed superior products in the form of processed dodol, banana and cassava chips, crackers and fish crackers. However, the production of processed agricultural and fishery products is still marketed in a limited manner by relying on relations. This marketing limitation is certainly caused by other systemic problems in the form of the absence of a Business Identification Number (NIB), Household Industry Food Permit (PIRT) and Halal Certificate (SH). The author identifies solutions to these problems with the concept of 'Scale Up' or class improvement. The implementation of activities is carried out by involving community participation as the main actors in changing both attitudes and knowledge. Mentoring activities begin with basic entrepreneurship training in the form of an introduction to business legality and its urgency. Furthermore, the team conducted a workshop on the selection of packaging design and digital product marketing which is ultimately expected to support the improvement of packaging quality and marketing reach through digital marketing. This class improvement has an impact on product quality and marketing reach, this has an impact on increasing the economic level of village communities through increased sales.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the empowerment of family self-employment in supporting sustainable entrepreneurship in Cemerlang Business Group, Geluran Village, Sidoarjo. Through a qualitative approach of FGDs and interviews, this research explores how families as independent business units can contribute to long-term economic stability, through sustainable practices, community involvement, and resilience in the face of economic challenges. The main results show that family entrepreneurs in Geluran have great potential in driving the local economy through the application of sustainable entrepreneurship models such as the Triple Bottom Line approach and circular economy. However, challenges in the diversity of family business structures emphasize the importance of specific and contextual approaches. This research concludes that empowering self-employed families is key in supporting sustainable economic growth, with policy recommendations that include access to financial resources, training, as well as relevant sustainability programs to strengthen family businesses. In this activity, the next empowerment hope can help in the aspects of marketing, packaging, funding, training, promotion and support from the government.
