Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing divorce rate in Indonesia, including in Polewali Mandar Regency, where migration (merantau) has become one of the dominant contributing factors. The merantau tradition, which has long been an integral part of the Mandar community’s social identity, often disrupts family life due to physical distance, limited communication, and economic pressures. This research aims to analyze the influence of migration on family resilience and to examine its implications from the perspective of Islamic Family Law. The study employs a qualitative approach with a socio-legal research design, utilizing interviews, observations, and document analysis interpreted through a descriptive-analytical framework. The findings reveal that migration contributes to the rise of divorce cases within the Mandar community as a result of shifting family roles, physical absence, and weakened emotional communication. Nevertheless, traditional mediation mechanisms and Islamic values continue to play a significant role in resolving domestic conflicts. The implications of this study highlight the necessity of integrating Islamic legal principles with local wisdom to strengthen family resilience among migrant communities. The originality of this research lies in its interdisciplinary analysis that bridges Islamic law and Mandar culture in explaining divorce caused by migration as a complex socio-religious phenomenon.

Abstract

This study examines how public self-awareness and creative Instagram content influence consumer purchase intention toward Café Moroloko in Bandar Lampung. Using a quantitative explanatory approach with a cross-sectional online survey, data were gathered from 115 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Primary data were collected via online questionnaires, supported by relevant secondary sources. The analysis included validity and reliability tests, followed by multiple linear regression. Hypothesis testing using the t-test and F-test showed that both public self-awareness and creative Instagram content have a positive and significant effect on purchase intention. The F-test confirmed the overall model significance, and the R² value indicated that these variables explain a substantial portion of the variance in purchase intention. The findings imply that enhancing consumers’ self-presentation tendencies and producing visually appealing Instagram content can effectively strengthen their intention to purchase or visit Café Moroloko. Further studies may explore additional influencing factors.

Abstract

This research examines the phenomenon of Child free vis-à-vis the concept of Al Walud from the perspective of Hadith, investigating how Islamic teachings on reproduction and family can be interpreted in a modern context. Through analysis of relevant hadiths and contemporary literature, this study reveals space for reinterpretation that allows the integration of the Child free concept into Islamic understanding. The results show that a contextual approach to hadith and the use of maqasid al-shariah methodology can bridge traditional and modern understandings. The social, economic, and spiritual implications of this shift in understanding are discussed, along with challenges and opportunities in harmonizing both concepts. This research contributes to the development of contemporary fiqh that is more responsive to global realities while upholding fundamental Islamic values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Career Development and Training on Organizational Performance with Employee Competence as a mediating variable. In the context of a dynamic business environment, the role of employee competence is crucial in transforming Human Resources (HR) initiatives into tangible company performance. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews with a number of employees from various levels of positions. The results show that Employee Competence has a positive and significant effect on Organizational Performance. Furthermore, Training was found to have an influence on Organizational Performance only indirectly, proving Full Mediation by Employee Competence. Meanwhile, Career Development showed a dual influence, namely direct and indirect, indicating Partial Mediation. These findings underscore the importance of HR strategies that focus on competency improvement outcomes as a primary prerequisite for investments in training and career development to contribute optimally to organizational performance.

Abstract

Humans spend most of their time producing goods and services, which can come from factories or offices. They also spend some of their time consuming goods and services provided by others, other factories, or other offices. With the remaining time, humans also worry about what they will produce and consume in the future. Several activities take place within a city, where the approach considers the city as a living unit with integrated economic activities within it. Quality human resources are the main foundation in realizing a smart city because they are users, developers, and drivers of technology. The purpose of this study is to explain the role of quality human resources in realizing smart cities. To answer this question, a qualitative analysis approach was used, utilizing secondary data such as theoretical concepts from books and other relevant sources. The results show that quality human resources are skilled and digitally literate individuals who play a role in realizing smart cities by providing innovation in urban solutions, increasing the efficiency of public services, actively participating in decision-making, and contributing to the city's sustainable development.

Abstract

In a development concept that focuses on humans, development must be carried out in a balanced manner. This balance must be established between building capabilities and utilizing them. This means that human development does not only focus on human capabilities, such as the ability to achieve better health, a longer life, or a higher level of education. This research aims to analyze the comparison of Indonesia's human development achievements among ASEAN countries. This study was conducted through a qualitative comparative study. To help explain this comparative study, secondary data from the United Nations Development Programme regarding the human development index of ASEAN countries from 1990 to 2023 were used. The results show that the comparison of Indonesia's human development achievements through the human development index among ASEAN countries shows a continuous upward trend. Indonesia's human development index ranked 6th out of 11 ASEAN countries in 2023, with a score of 0.73. The highest human development indexes are still held by Singapore and Brunei Darussalam, with scores of 0.95 and 0.84, respectively. Meanwhile, Cambodia and Myanmar have the lowest human development indexes, both with the same score of 0.61.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the determinants of local government financial independence in Indonesia by synthesizing empirical evidence from recent studies published between 2021 and 2025. Local government financial independence is a key objective of fiscal decentralization, reflecting the ability of regional governments to finance public services and development activities through locally generated revenue while reducing dependence on central government transfers. This study focuses on five main determinants frequently discussed in the literature, namely local taxes, investment, government size, population, and intergovernmental transfers. A narrative literature review approach is employed to analyze and compare findings from fifteen selected empirical studies that investigate these variables across different regional contexts in Indonesia. The results indicate that local taxes consistently have a positive and significant effect on financial independence, highlighting their importance as a sustainable source of local revenue. Intergovernmental transfers are also found to support financial independence in the short term. In contrast, the effects of investment, government size, and population remain mixed and context-dependent, suggesting the influence of governance quality, demographic structure, and regional characteristics. This study contributes to the literature by providing an integrated understanding of recent findings and identifying research gaps that may guide future empirical research and policy formulation aimed at strengthening local government financial independence.

Abstract

This study aims to review and synthesize the existing literature on the determinants of local government financial performance in Indonesia, with a particular focus on regions experiencing real fiscal deficits. Under the regional autonomy framework, local governments are required to manage their financial resources independently to support public services and regional development. However, many local governments continue to face fiscal challenges due to limited local revenue capacity and high dependence on central government transfers. Using a literature review approach, this study examines how Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), capital expenditure, and audit opinion influence local government financial performance. Capital expenditure is also found to play a strategic role in enhancing financial performance through long-term investment in infrastructure, service quality, and economic productivity. Despite extensive empirical evidence, the literature reveals limited attention to the interaction of these factors within local governments experiencing real fiscal deficits. This review highlights the need for more focused analysis in fiscally constrained regions and provides a conceptual foundation for future empirical research aimed at improving sustainable regional financial management.
