Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kepuasan pengguna di Perpustakaan Pusat Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang berdasakan dimensi LibQUAL+TM yang terdiri dari Affect of Service, Library as Place, dan Information Access. Jenis penelitian ini yaitu kuantitatif deskriptif. Teknik sampling yang digunakan yaitu simple random sampling. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 97 responden yaitu pengguna yang mengunjungi atau berkunjung ke Perpustakaan Pusat Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang pada bulan September 2022 hingga Februari 2023. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara studi kepustakaan dan kuesioner. Pengolahan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan aplikasi IBM SPSS Statistik versi 23. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pada dimensi affect of service pengguna merasa cukup puas dengan nilai adequancy gap 0,02, dan kualitas layanan dimensi affect of service dinilai baik dengan nilai superiorty gap -0,03. Pada dimensi library as place pengguna merasa cukup puas dengan nilai adequancy gap 0,14, dan kualitas layanan dimensi library as place dinilai baik dengan nilai superiorty gap -0,04. Pada dimensi information access pengguna merasa belum puas dengan nilai adequancy gap -0,12, dan kualitas layanan dimensi information access dinilai baik dengan nilai superiorty gap -0,27. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kualitas layanan pengguna Perpustakaan Pusat Institut Teknologi Nasional (ITN) Malang pada setiap dimensi dinilai baik atau masuk ke dalan zona toleransi, namun belum memenuhi harapan ideal yang diinginkan oleh pengguna.

Abstract

Abstract Information needs in the digital era are increasingly demanding information service providers to be able to more quickly and accurately present the information needed by their users. Likewise with librarians who are information managers and are tasked with serving it to users, of course they are also required to have high competence in carrying out their duties. However, can this demand be met by all librarians? Then what are the competencies required by librarians to answer these challenges. This is the background of the author to be interested in studying the topic. As for writing this article, the aim is to gain knowledge about what competencies are demanded and must be possessed by librarians in the digital information era. While the writing method in this article is to use qualitative methods through literature or literature studies. There are several competencies that ideally can be fulfilled by librarians so that in this digital information era they are able to continue to provide quality services and according to the needs of users. Both professional competence and personal competence. While the benefits that can be obtained from the results of writing this article are to provide an overview of librarians so that in this digital era they can continue to update their expertise and resources so that they are not abandoned by their users. So it can be concluded that digital competence must be fulfilled by librarians in order to provide excellent service to users who need information in digital form quickly and accurately.Keywords: Librarian competency; Digital competency; Digital information era Abstrak Kebutuhan informasi di era digital semakin menuntut penyedia layanan informasi untuk dapat lebih cepat dan akurat dalam menyajikan informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh penggunanya. Demikian juga dengan pustakawan yang merupakan pengelola informasi dan bertugas melayankannya kepada pemustaka, tentu tidak luput juga dari tuntutan untuk memiliki kompetensi yang tinggi dalam melaksanakan tugasnya tersebut. Namun apakah tuntutan ini sudah dapat dipenuhi oleh semua pustakawan? Kemudian apa saja kompetensi yang diperlukan oleh pustakawan demi menjawab tantangan tersebut. Inilah yang melatarbelakangi penulis untuk tertarik mengkaji topik tersebut. Adapun penulisan artikel ini mempunyai tujuan untuk memperoleh pengetahuan tentang kompetensi apa saja yang menjadi tuntutan dan harus dimiliki pustakawan didalam era informasi digital. Sedangkan metode penulisan pada artikel ini adalah dengan menggunakan metode  kualitatif  melalui  studi literatur atau kepustakaan. Terdapat beberapa kompetensi yang idealnya dapat dipenuhi oleh pustakawan agar pada era informasi digital ini mampu terus memberikan pelayanan secara berkualitas dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan pemustaka. Baik itu kompetensi profesi maupun kompetensi personal. Sedangkan manfaat yang dapat diperoleh dari hasil penulisan artikel ini adalah memberikan gambaran terhadap pustakawan sehingga pada era digital ini dapat terus meng-update keahlian dan sumber daya yang dimiliki agar tidak ditinggalkan oleh penggunanya. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa kompetensi digital wajib dipenuhi oleh pustakawan demi mewujudkan pelayanan yang prima kepada pemustaka yang membutuhkan informasi dalam bentuk digital secara cepat dan akurat. Kata kunci: Kompetensi pustakawan; Kompetensi digital; Era informasi digital

Abstract

The promotion aims to introduce and disseminate the products and services available at the library to increase user interest and increase the utilization and utilization of the library in enhancing the reading culture of its users. In this study, the strategic management method and the output of this research was the formulation of a suitable library promotion strategy to be implemented in the STIQSI library. In addition, SWOT analysis is also used, namely the identification of various factors systematically to formulate a library strategy. This analysis is based on logic that can maximize strengths and opportunities while minimizing weaknesses and threats. The subjects in the study were STIQSI librarians who knew extensively about the internal and external factors of the STIQSI library. At the same time, the object of this research is a library promotion strategy using strategic management methods, including two stages: environmental analysis and strategy formulation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach because this research will describe the formulation of the STIQSI library promotion strategy. The researcher collect data according to conditions in the field without manipulating the data obtained. This research found that the STIQSI Library still requires various efforts to promote the library. It is intended to increase interest in reading and visiting the library. Some forms of promotion that the STIQSI Library can carry out are: creating social media and websites, procuring activities such as training in information retrieval skills, procuring library holiday commemorations, providing scientific and popular writing training, and training on accessing journals and journal databases. Abstract

Preservation is a series of activities that include maintenance, care, preservation, and prevention of collection materials. The essence of the existence of preservation activities is to ensure that the information content is in a good condition to be used or accessed in an unspecified time. The purpose of this study is to determine the preservation activities carried out on collection materials at the IKOPIN University Library. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method with a case study approach. The data collection techniques used in this research are interviews, observation, and literature study. Interviews were conducted with 2 resource persons, namely the Head of the IKOPIN University Library and the user. Interviews and observations were carried out directly. The data analysis carried out is the data analysis model by Miles and Huberman which consists of 3 stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions and verification. The results of the study show that the IKOPIN Library has carried out a series of preservation activities. The activities carried out were packaging books with plastic covers, bookbinding, cleaning book collections, transfer of collection materials, environmental control, temperature regulation, lighting regulation, hygiene monitoring, and awareness training on preservation activities. In the research conducted, it was also found that the factors causing damage to collections in the IKOPIN library were the main factors, namely book characteristics and human factors. The conclusion from the research is that the IKOPIN library has an awareness of the importance of preservation activities, therefore the IKOPIN library has carried out preservation activities both actively, passively, and preventively. The preservation implementation found 2 obstacles, namely in the field of HR (Human Resources) and the field of funding.

Abstract

The school library is one of the important facilities in supporting the success of the teaching and learning program. Its main function is to provide learning references for students, teachers and technical personnel at school. Before the information is presented, school librarians manage the library materials through several stages. This study aims to determine the application of SNP Number 12 of 2017 in the collection management section in school libraries.  The research method used a descriptive qualitative approach with data search techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The research location is in the library of SMAN 1 Kedungwaru, MAN 2 Tulungagung, and SMKN 1 Rejotangan. The three schools have different focuses according to their respective development focus. The results showed that the implementation of library collection management has not fully met the SNP standard number 12 of 2017. The three libraries have not met the minimum standards for the type and number of collections. The availability of electronic collections and reference collections such as dictionaries is only the library of SMAN 1 Kedungwaru that has met the standards. However, other standards have met the SNP, such as the processing of library materials and weeding activities that are scheduled and carried out routinely once a year, and maintenance of library materials at least once a year.

Abstract

Sistem informasi perpustakaan dengan berbasis website yakni inovasi yang penting dalam mengikuti perkembangan era saat ini dimana melakukan manajemen perpustakaan dengan modern, memungkinkan akses pengguna yang lebih mudah serta pengelolaan data yang dimiliki lebih efisien. Dalam memahami serta mengembangkan perancangan sistem tersebut, diperlukan analisis bibliometrik. Sebagai alat bantu analisis yang efektif dan efisien dapat menggunakan software VOSViewer, dimana digunakan untuk menganalisis bibliometrik co-occurrence. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan analisis bibliometrik co-occurrence pada perancangan sistem informasi perpustakaan berbasis website menggunakan software VOSViewer. Selain hal tersebut, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk menganalisis pola kata konci dan pemetaan topic yang terkait penelitian ini. Metode yang digunakan yakni analisis bibliometrik co-occurrence menggunakan VOSViewer. Kemudian hasil penelitian ini yakni menunjukkan bahwa terdapat 60 items yang teridentifikasi serta dikelompokkan ke dalam 8 cluster utama. Setiap clusternya merepresentasikan topic utama yang sering muncul serta berhubungan dengan yang lain dalam literature yang dianalisis. Dari temuan tersebut, terdapat celah dalam penelitian sebelumnya yang berpeluang untuk mengadakan penelitian terbaru dan berlanjut. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini yaitu bahwa pada analisis bibliometrik co-occurrence dapat memberikan wawasan yang mendalam mengenai perkembangan yang terjadi pada pola kata konci serta pemetaan topic-topik utama dalam perancangan sistem informasi perpustakaan berbasis website. Dengan lebih dalamnya pemahaman akan hubungan antar topic, peneliti dapat mengidentifikasi area yang membutuhkan penelitian terbaru atau perhatian lebih lanjut serta merancang penelitian yang lebih terfokus di masa yang akan datang

Abstract

The existence of village archives is very important in the sustainability process of a village. Village archives are created during the process of activities carried out by the village government. Archive management in Muara Pulutan Village is still done manually so the time required to retrieve information is not effective and efficient. The aim of this research is to develop an arterial system (integrated archives) for archive management in Muara Pulutan Village. This research uses a prototyping model which consists of communication stages, quick plan, modeling quick design, construction of prototype, deployment delivery and feedback. The research results show that the development of the arterial system (integrated archive) with a prototyping model was developed in accordance with the communication and quick plan. The quick plan stage is depicted in the form of a use case diagram which consists of adding archives, searching archives, master data, borrowing archives, reporting and access rights. Prototyping is given to stakeholders for consideration in ensuring and determining what functions are used. The next stage is the stage of deployment, delivery, and feedback which results in showing that all the main functions of the system are running according to user needs. The conclusion of this research is that the existence of a digital archive system in archival management in Muara Pulutan Village can facilitate the retrieval of required archive information, thereby improving the services provided by the village so that they can run effectively and efficiently.Keywords: village archives, digital archives, development system, prototyping

Abstract

This study aimed to describe information anxiety among students enrolled in the Library and Information Science Study Program at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University, Malang, class of 2021. Information anxiety, as part of information behavior, concerns the feelings experienced by a person when confronted with information. This study used a descriptive quantitative method. A sample of 30 respondents from the 2021 class of students was selected. Data processing was based on the results of questionnaires. Information anxiety experienced by students enrolled in the Library and Information Science Study Program at UIN Malang class of 2021 showed diverse results, encompassing various barriers, including barriers with information sources, barriers with computers and the internet, barriers with libraries, barriers in finding information, barriers with technical aspects, and barriers with identifying information. Abstract

Library Managers or commonly referred to as "Librarians" are officially recognised as professional positions or within the government as functional positions. MENPAN and RB Regulation No. 9 of 2014 concerning the Functional Position of Librarian and its Credit Score, where the main consideration "that in order to meet the demands of career development and increase the professionalism of Librarians, it is necessary to reorganise the MENPAN Decree No. PAN/12 / 2002 concerning the Functional Position of Librarian and its Credit Score". The ethical symbols of librarians include mutual respect, mutual honour, and mutual assistance. The research method used in this study is qualitative. In this case, researchers interpret and explain the data taken from various related literature. The literature used are journals, websites, and google so that the data collected is then analysed descriptively in accordance with the object of research so as to get answers to problems in detail. This research focuses on the discussion of ethics that librarians must have in order to increase interest in visiting the library. The main task of librarians is to collect, compile and organise information that will be delivered to users or the entire community. But, in a dynamic environment, a librarian has to deal with ethical issues, not only in terms of service, but also in terms of professionalism and technical education for self-satisfaction and prospective operators. A code of conduct known as the Librarian's Code of Ethics governs ethical issues in the field of librarianship. As members of the profession, librarians are obliged to abide by the code of ethics. Librarians have the responsibility to apply the code of ethics as standards and guidelines for the needs of the profession, professional organisations, libraries and users. For this reason, librarians must be able to act professionally so that the library can improve the quality of the library while achieving common goals..

Abstract

This research examines the information seeking abilities of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) students class 2022 class B and E using the Kuhlthau Information Seeking Model. Kuhlthau's model focuses on six stages of information search which include initiation, selection, exploration, formulation,collection, and presentation. This research uses a qualitativedescriptive method with data collection techniques through observation, in-depth interviews and document analysis. The research results show that the majority of students experience difficulties at the exploration and formulation stages, where they feel confused and less confident in identifying and formulatingtopics that suit their information needs. At the initiation andselection stages, students tend to rely on easily accessible information sources such as the internet, but pay less attention to the validity and credibility of these sources. This research also identifies factors that influence information search abilities, including information literacy abilities, access to information sources, and support from lecturers. These findings indicate theneed to increase information literacy through a more integrated curriculum and ongoing training. Recommendations are provided to develop a comprehensive information literacy training program to help students improve their informationsearch skills according to expected academic standards. Thisresearch contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of information seeking among PAI students and offers discourse for the development of more effective learning strategies in supporting critical and systematic information seeking processes.
