Abstract

The transformation of the global work landscape driven by digitalization and the pandemic has rapidly accelerated the widespread adoption of remote work, creating an urgent need to understand the relationship between work-life balance (WLB), burnout, and the dynamics of modern organizational behavior. This study aims to synthesize scientific findings from the past five years on the interconnection of these three concepts through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach guided by the PRISMA protocol. A total of 79 verified primary articles were analyzed using thematic and content analysis methods to map key trends, theoretical-methodological approaches, and relevant research gaps. The results indicate that WLB functions as a protective factor against burnout, whereas remote work exhibits ambivalent effects that depend on organizational design and behavior. This review highlights the dominance of the JD-R theory and the limitations of longitudinal studies. The main contribution of this research lies in its thematic integration of cross-cutting variables and the proposal of a synthetic model based on dynamic interaction. The study recommends the development of digital organizational behavior theory and work policies that prioritize well-being. Future research is encouraged to adopt cross-disciplinary and contextual approaches to build a more adaptive and human-centered framework.

Abstract

The growing need for sustainable and eco-friendly energy storage solutions has led to advancements in high-performance supercapacitors with extended cycle life. This research explores the fabrication of composite electrodes using activated carbon derived from elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum) combined with manganese dioxide (MnO₂). The carbon material was produced through chemical activation with potassium hydroxide (KOH) and subsequent physical activation using carbon dioxide (CO₂). MnO₂ was incorporated into the activated carbon at various weight ratios (10:0, 7:3, 5:5, 3:7, and 0:10). Morphological and elemental analyses were performed using SEM-EDS, Meanwhile, the electrochemical performance was evaluated using galvanostatic charge-discharge (GCD) tests and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). Of all the samples evaluated, the composite containing a 3:7 ratio of carbon to MnO₂ exhibited the highest specific capacitance, reaching 198.51 F/g, highlighting the beneficial interaction between double-layer capacitance and pseudocapacitance. These findings suggest that elephant grass-derived carbon, when effectively combined with MnO₂, presents a cost-effective and environmentally friendly option for next-generation supercapacitor electrodes.

Abstract

This experimental study at Petala Bumi Public Hospital (Jan–Apr 2025) aimed to determine the optimal tube voltage (kV) and tube current–time product (mAs) settings to enhance conventional X-ray image quality for thoracic, abdominal, and bone fracture examinations. Radiographs were taken using varied kV–mAs combinations and analyzed with ImageJ software through grey-level histograms to assess brightness (mean pixel intensity) and contrast (standard deviation). The thoracic image with a mean of 127.117 and SD of 83.331 showed the best balance of brightness and contrast. The optimal abdominal image had a mean of 107.703 and SD of 66.725, while the best bone fracture image had an SD of 65.463, ensuring clear fracture visibility. The study confirms the effectiveness of ImageJ in objective image-quality evaluation and highlights the importance of adjusting exposure parameters to improve diagnostic clarity without increasing radiation dose.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of self-efficacy and locus of control on employee performance with job satisfaction as an intervening variable on Cleaning Officers of the Yogyakarta City Trade Service. This study uses a quantitative approach with a census method of 140 cleaning officers. The data analysis technique used is Partial Least Square - Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS software. The results of the study indicate that self-efficacy does not have a significant effect on job satisfaction or employee performance. On the contrary, locus of control has a positive and significant effect on both job satisfaction and employee performance. Job satisfaction has also been shown to have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. However, job satisfaction cannot mediate the effect of self-efficacy on employee performance significantly. This finding indicates that locus of control and job satisfaction are more dominant factors in influencing the performance of cleaning officers. The implication of this study is the importance of focusing efforts to improve performance on aspects of self-control (locus of control) and job satisfaction, through employee involvement and the creation of a conducive work climate.
